Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2197: Chapter 2198: He Still Wants to Try Again

Su Chengyu laughed, ”Dad, I think you should agree. Nowadays, there are many only children. If I ever get a wife, I’ll just have her give birth to a few more for you to hold.”

Su Haoyu immediately replied in an irritated tone, ”Talk about it when you have a wife!” He felt his younger son was so chatty that he might stay a bachelor for life!

Feeling rejected again, Su Chengyu immediately looked heartbroken, but then he shrugged it off, humming a tune happily as he headed to the dining room to eat.

Seeing Su Chengyu leave, Su Haoyu moved over to Su Changyi’s side and said with a fawning expression, ”Yi Er, let’s discuss this. Dad doesn’t ask for much. Just two kids. Two should be okay, right?”

Su Changyi still said the same two words, ”One child.”

If he and his wife didn’t have any kids, Su Haoyu would definitely be upset, but if they only had one child, Su Haoyu would be merely disappointed, not upset. Naturally, they chose to have one child.

”No room for negotiation...” Su Haoyu felt he could still try to push for more.

Su Changyi directly ignored him.

Finally, Su Haoyu said, ”Fine, one child then! At worst, I’ll head to the temple more often, burn some incense, and see if Jing Er can have ten in one go. Of course, if they could form a soccer team in one go, that would be even better!”

An Jing: ”...” Do you think I’m a pig?

Su Changyi was silent for a moment before getting up to go upstairs to the Upper Study Room, print some documents, and then come back down for Su Haoyu to sign.

”What is this?” Su Haoyu didn’t understand what it was, but instinctively took the paper. Seeing it was a commitment he signed promising they’d only have one child, he looked mournful, ”Is this necessary? Even signing stuff...”

Su Changyi didn’t hold back at all, ”Haven’t you gone back on things enough?” He did this just to prevent his dad from reneging and pressuring them for more children later.

Su Haoyu really wanted to negotiate for more, and he looked at An Jing with a hopeful expression.

An Jing silently looked away, avoiding his gaze. She wanted to have a child to give her husband one and also to avoid making Su Haoyu upset, but she never thought of having multiple kids. One felt just right, and she supported her husband.

Su Haoyu then turned to An Baobei, hoping she would say something for him. An Baobei just covered her eyes with an ice pack, looked nowhere, at nothing.

Su Haoyu: ”...”

Su Changyi was determined for An Jing to only have one child. Su Haoyu could do nothing, plus he wanted a grandson or granddaughter to hold soon, so he really signed his name on that paper.

He even added a thumbprint at Su Changyi’s request.

Looking at that bright red thumbprint and his signature, Su Haoyu could only feel as though many grandchildren were slipping away from him.

After a self-pitying moment, Su Haoyu was cheerful again and urged quickly, ”Anyway, you’re not working today. Get to making that baby. I’ve signed and stamped. You better let me hold your child by this time next year or else!”

An Jing: ”...”

Su Changyi didn’t say a word, just used the remote to turn off the TV and really dragged An Jing upstairs.

An Jing: ”...”

An Baobei moved the ice pack from her eyes and saw her parents really go upstairs. She chuckled secretly.

Su Haoyu was delighted and excited: ”Ah, ah, ah, I’m about to have a grandchild to hold.”

Seeing An Baobei chuckle, Su Haoyu sighed, ”Baobei, if only you were a few years younger, then grandpa could hold you too. Grandpa has no other wish now but to enjoy time with grandchildren.”
