Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2192: Chapter 2193: Freedom (3)

”I know you care about your parents, but if you want to put their minds at ease, you need to change your mindset. Stop handling things the way you do in Tianyun. This is not Tianyun; you have to abide by the law, alright? Otherwise, your parents will truly not be at ease with you.”

An Baobei was still a little upset but responded, ”Got it.”

An Jing pulled An Baobei aside to sit down, then smiled and said, ”Actually, this matter could have been resolved long ago without making such a big fuss. But your dad and I thought that if we resolved it quietly, it might cause trouble for us in the future if someone with ulterior motives dug it up. So we decided to make a fuss and resolve it now. Even if someone is malicious in the future, they can’t say anything about us. Right now, everyone sympathizes with my past experiences and thinks I’m right to sever ties with them, to not acknowledge them.”

”Then why didn’t you and dad tell me earlier, making me so angry.”

”Can we just say that was our fault? From now on, if your parents are going to do something big, we’ll tell you, okay?”

”That’s more like it.” An Baobei was no longer angry and happily hugged her mom.

...

Because the evidence was ample, and the neighbors cooperated extremely well by testifying in court, it took less than three months for Lin Jiecheng, Wu Meifeng, and Lin Anrou to be sentenced.

At the same time, the court also ruled that marriage is free, and Lin Jiecheng and Wu Meifeng must not hide the household registration book, obstructing An Jing and Su Changyi from registering their marriage.

The court further ruled that due to the severe abuse of Lin Anjing by Lin Jiecheng and Wu Meifeng, they have lost the right to demand support from the victim Lin Anjing, and Lin Anjing is exempt from her obligation to support them.

Not having to support Lin Jiecheng and the others was also the result An Jing wanted. Even though An Jing has money to support them, she does not want to support such scum.

Knowing she doesn’t have to support Lin Jiecheng and the others anymore, An Jing was very happy.

And on the day of the ruling, An Jing took the household registration book and went to register the marriage with Su Changyi at the civil affairs bureau, becoming a legally protected couple.

Later, An Jing took the household registration book and moved her name from the Lin family household registration book to the Su family household registration book.

Seeing her information added to the Su family household registration book, An Jing was even happier: ”I finally have no relation to them whatsoever.”

Su Haoyu, Su Chengyu, and An Baobei were also very happy, and Su Chengyu couldn’t help but praise: ”Brother, Sister-in-law, you did a great job this time, once and for all!”

All those matters were completely resolved in one go.

An Jing smiled and said, ”That’s them getting what they deserved.”

Su Haoyu said especially happily, ”Today Yi Er and Jingjing finally registered their marriage. A weight has been lifted from my heart; let’s celebrate tonight.”

”Alright.” Rarely, Su Changyi was the first to nod in agreement.

Su Chengyu immediately laughed, ”Having registered the marriage, brother is definitely the happiest one!”

An Jing just sweetly looked at Su Changyi. Although they had held the wedding before, they hadn’t registered the marriage, which always felt a bit regrettable. Now that everything is settled, with the certificate registered, it’s not just Su Changyi who is happy; she herself is very happy too.

Before celebrating thoroughly, Su Changyi posted the court verdict and marriage certificate online, greeted by congratulations everywhere.

Later, Su Changyi posted another tweet, donating one billion in their names as a couple to an orphanage, with a caption: Hoping the children in the orphanage all grow up healthy and happy.

Su Changyi and An Jing’s charitable act immediately garnered praise all around.
