Chapter 2177: Chapter 2178: An Jing and Su Changyi’s Modern Wedding (Part 3)

Immediately, An Jing and Su Changyi ignored Su Chengyu, who was still deep in thought, and got up to go upstairs.

Seeing An Baobei’s room door wide open, and An Baobei lying on the bed holding a teddy bear twice her size in distress, the two exchanged a glance before entering An Baobei’s room.

Su Changyi closed the door after entering.

”What’s wrong?” An Jing sat on the edge of the bed with concern, ”Are you unhappy?”

An Baobei pouted before throwing away the teddy bear and crawling into An Jing’s arms, and An Jing naturally hugged her.

”Mom,” An Baobei’s voice was low, filled with grievance, ”He said again that I should not like him, and shouldn’t waste my time on him.”

An Jing frowned, ”I didn’t expect your dad to be right. Last night he told me that when you went over, he would definitely say this to you.”

An Baobei looked at Su Changyi unhappily before speaking with grievance again, ”He’s so direct, I should thank him and then not waste time on him, but...”

Saying this, An Baobei found herself unable to continue, her face full of grievance. Her heart felt heavy.

Feeling the pain her daughter was going through, An Jing quickly comforted her, ”It’s better for him to be straightforward than to lead you on. If you can’t stop liking him immediately, take it slow. There are so many men in the world, and you’ll meet many others in the future, you will gradually start to like someone else.”

Su Changyi also sat on the edge of the bed, though he didn’t know how to comfort their precious daughter. He simply gently touched her head, hoping to soothe her troubled heart.

”I have been trying... I’m really trying...” An Baobei felt truly distressed, and as she spoke, her voice became somewhat choked, ”At first, I just liked him a little, but now, after trying hard, I end up liking him even more than before... Dad, Mom, what should I do?”

Hearing their precious daughter’s voice choked with sadness, An Jing’s heart was about to break. She hugged An Baobei tightly: ”Sweetheart, don’t cry, please don’t cry. Weren’t you always the optimistic one? If you really can’t stop liking him, it’s okay, it won’t matter if you don’t like anyone else in the future. What’s the big deal? Your dad and I are here for you, we’re still young and can stay by your side for many years to come, even growing old with you. We’re always here for you, sweetheart, don’t be sad.”

Though Su Changyi remained silent, his lips were tightly pursed, clearly indicating his unpleasant mood.

Feeling guilty for making her parents upset, An Baobei quickly sniffed and smiled, ”Mom, Dad, I’m not sad because he doesn’t like me. I’m sad because this was the first time I liked a guy, and it turned out this way. I never imagined it would be like this. If I knew it would turn out like this, I wouldn’t be sad now. Also, I seem to have trouble controlling my heart, and that sense of helplessness makes me quite upset too. I used to do whatever I wanted, but now my heart doesn’t listen to my mind.”

Seeing that An Baobei was sincerely expressing herself, An Jing and Su Changyi both felt relieved, their mood improving considerably.

”Love... alas...” An Jing sighed, ”It’s driven by the heart, not by will.”

”Whether it’s driven by me or not, I’ll try hard not to like him. No matter if my efforts work or not, I’ll keep trying. Don’t worry, I can handle it well.”
