Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2196: Chapter 2197: Love, Yet Letting Go (4)

His daughter was clearly upset, but she didn’t want to show it, trying hard to let it go, just so they wouldn’t worry...

This naturally made him feel even more sorry for her.

An Jing saw Su Changyi watching An Baobei in the dining room, and his eyes gradually grew colder. She held Su Changyi’s hand and signaled to him, ”When it comes to love, it’s best if both people feel the same way. Unrequited love is truly painful.”

Su Changyi squeezed An Jing’s hand back, said nothing, but nodded. Fortunately, from the start, he and she have been mutually in love.

When An Baobei finished her breakfast and came out, she also sat down on the sofa in the living room. An Jing noticed An Baobei’s eyes were still terribly swollen and instructed the housekeeper to get some ice water for An Baobei to apply on her eyes.

As An Baobei iced her eyes, she laughed and asked, ”Mom and Dad, why aren’t you at work today?”

An Jing laughed and said, ”Your dad and I only got up an hour earlier than you, and since we woke up late, we just decided not to go to work.”

Su Haoyu continued reading his newspaper, casually saying, ”The company is ours anyway, and I don’t mind if you guys are just making babies at home every day.”

Once again with the baby talk...

An Jing: ”...”

Su Changyi pretended not to hear.

Su Chengyu had just gotten up and was coming downstairs. Hearing Su Haoyu’s words, he laughed heartily as he descended, ”Sister-in-law, you should hurry up and give Brother a child for Dad to hold. He’s going crazy wanting to hold a grandchild.”

An Jing swallowed and then asked, ”Isn’t a granddaughter okay?”

Su Haoyu’s eyes lit up instantly, ”You’re pregnant?! I like both grandsons and granddaughters!”

An Jing: ”...Not yet, I’m just worried if I have a girl in the future, Dad might not be happy.”

Su Haoyu was instantly disappointed, giving An Jing and Su Changyi a particularly resentful look, ”I thought you were already pregnant.”

Su Changyi still pretended not to hear.

An Jing: ”...” Hubby, are you sure you don’t want to say something?

An Baobei laughed and said, ”Mom, don’t worry, Grandpa loves me so much, he definitely won’t prefer boys over girls.”

Su Haoyu immediately said, ”Even if you give birth to a little monster for Yi Er, I’d still love it. But the question is, when are you actually going to have a baby?! Don’t think I don’t know, you two have been using contraception! Clearly fooling this old man! You said after getting married you’d consider having children! You’ve been married for several months now without so much as a thought!”

An Jing laughed awkwardly, ”Dad, can we not talk about this?” Discussing contraception with my father-in-law is really awkward.

”Since we’re all here, let’s settle this today! We need to have a good talk about this!” Su Haoyu slapped the newspaper on the table, looking as though he was determined to discuss this matter thoroughly.

An Jing: ”...”

No choice, An Jing could only look to Su Changyi for help.

The TV was on, broadcasting international news, and Su Changyi was watching it. Seeing An Jing looking to him for help, he calmly said, ”I only want Jing Er to have one child. If you agree, we’ll try to let you hold a child by this time next year.”

”Just one child...” Su Haoyu didn’t want An Jing to have just one child, he wanted to hold many, as many as possible. Besides, typically one child means just one! So few! Not even enough for a mahjong table!

Su Changyi didn’t even look at him and said, ”If you don’t agree, then forget it. I don’t want Jing Er to get pregnant right now anyway.”

Su Haoyu: ”...”
