Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1942: Chapter 1943: Gong Le’s Schemes

...

Xi Ziyen really likes beautiful girls, but he prefers those who are both innocent and beautiful. At this moment, in his eyes, Gong Le is exactly that kind of innocent and beautiful girl.

He does not like girls with ulterior motives at all.

Gong Le, at first glance, is completely without any hidden intentions, like a blank sheet of paper, and he really likes this feeling.

Since An Yiqing claims not to like Gong Le, he can naturally pursue Gong Le with peace of mind.

If he were to marry Gong Le, not only could he freely express himself on this blank canvas, but he would also become closer to people in the royal family like An Yiqing. After all, Gong Le is the daughter of the Queen’s sworn sister.

Xi Ziyen also noticed that Gong Le still has a child-like disposition, so on this day, Xi Ziyen bought some trinkets for Gong Le.

When Gong Le saw Xi Ziyen, she frowned and said, ”I’ve seen you before, three days ago.”

Xi Ziyen smiled and said, ”Miss Gong has a good memory.”

Gong Le didn’t want to talk to Xi Ziyen and walked straight out, wanting to find An Yiqing. But Xi Ziyen stopped her.

”Miss Gong, I’m here today to give you something fun.”

Gong Le showed a little interest; ”What fun things?”

”Look.” Xi Ziyen opened the sandalwood box in his hand, which contained a rattle drum, a bamboo dragonfly, a sugar figurine, and two skewers of candied haws.

Seeing the rattle drum, the corners of Gong Le’s mouth twitched slightly. Then she put her hands on her hips and said angrily, ”Princely Heir Bolin, I’m not a child anymore. What do you mean by giving me these?!”

Xi Ziyen was a bit flustered, ”You don’t like them? If not, I can buy you something else next time.” He had specially bought these thinking she had a child-like nature. Who knew she wouldn’t like them?

”No, I don’t like them, not at all! But I like the sugar figurine and candied haws!” Saying this, Gong Le unceremoniously took all the sugar figurine and candied haws from the box into her hands.

After holding them in her hands, she didn’t forget to add, ”You bought too few candied haws and sugar figurines, we, Big Brother Qing, Brother Yun, A Qi, Ah Lin, and A Zhi, six people, not enough to share.”

Xi Ziyen immediately said, ”Then I’ll buy more tomorrow, enough for you all to share.”

”No need, I’ll have Big Brother Qing buy them. Big Brother Qing wouldn’t be so stingy like you, buying only a little at a time.”

Xi Ziyen: ”...” I bought these for you, how could I have known you were considering the Third Prince and others...

...

Although Gong Le said no need, the next day Xi Ziyen still bought many candied haws and sugar figurines for Gong Le.

For the following three days, Xi Ziyen kept sending candied haws, sugar figurines, and various other sweets to Gong Le.

On the seventh of November, seeing Xi Ziyen deliver candied haws and other sweets again, Gong Le said, ”Why have you brought these again? Look at my room; it’s filled with sweets from you. Oh, my tooth hurts.”

As she spoke, Gong Le acted as if she had a toothache, covering her cheek.

Xi Ziyen immediately panicked and quickly told the palace maid, ”Hurry and call the Imperial Physician to check Miss Gong.”

But Gong Le said, ”I want Big Brother Qing. Go quickly, call Big Brother Qing to come, let Big Brother Qing see who keeps sending me sweet things every day, making my teeth ache.”

Xi Ziyen: ”...”

When An Yiqing hurriedly arrived, Gong Le looked at An Yiqing with pitiful, tear-stained eyes: ”Big Brother Qing...”

”Why is your tooth hurting again? Didn’t it stop hurting for a long time?” Since Gong Le loves sweets, she often had toothaches as a child, and later, everyone wouldn’t let her eat sweets much, fearing her toothache would return.
