Chapter 1905: Chapter 1906: Really Don’t Want to Go

...

Due to Wufeng and Feng Tianlan having been at war for a year, the national treasury of Wufeng is not abundant at the moment. Therefore, the abdication ceremony of Feng Feiyan and Feng Tianji’s re-ascension to the throne have been simplified.

With simplification, not much time is needed. On the second day of July, Feng Feiyan abdicates, and Feng Tianji ascends to the throne again.

Upon ascending the throne, Feng Tianji dismisses the harem, leaving only his first wife, the Empress, in the main palace. He also establishes Feng Feiming as the Crown Prince and confers upon Feng Feiyan the title of ’Imperial Princess.’

On that day, the Imperial Princess Feng Feiyan moves out of the Imperial Palace with Prince Consort Xiao Yijing. No one knows where they’ve gone.

Publicly, Feng Tianji declares that Feng Feiyan enjoys a carefree life and says that Feng Feiyan and Prince Consort Xiao Yijing are traveling around.

On the fifteenth of July, Feng Tianji, missing his daughter Feng Feiyan, adopts a woman resembling Feng Feiyan as his foster daughter, bestowing upon her the title Eternal Good Princess and granting her the name Feng Qingqing.

Not long after, envoys from Xiyun arrive to seek marriage for the Prince of Xiyun with the Eternal Good Princess Feng Qingqing. Feng Tianji hopes for lasting friendship between the two countries and immediately agrees to the marriage, setting the date for September twentieth when the Prince of Xiyun will come to wed Feng Qingqing.

On the day the marriage of the Prince of Xiyun and Wufeng’s Eternal Good Princess is arranged, Su Yi Jing has already arrived at the place where An Jing and Xiao Changyi reside in seclusion.

Being the Prince of Xiyun and the future King of Xiyun, he represents the dignity of the great nation of Xiyun. Therefore, Su Yi Jing’s marriage cannot be simplified and must be held grandly.

The wedding location is the Xiyun Imperial Palace.

Su Yi Jing’s visit to An Jing and Xiao Changyi this time is to invite them to return to the Imperial City.

”You are our son. Since you are getting married, we certainly should return to the Imperial City.” An Jing said, her face full of smiles. In less than five years, her eldest son returned to Xiyun, and everything was resolved; she was truly happy.

Su Yi Jing said, ”Father, Mother, let’s depart in the next two days, or else I won’t make it in time to greet the bride.”

”Then we shall return to the Imperial City tomorrow,” An Jing agreed straightforwardly. ”Just, Jing’er, which brother are you planning to take with you to greet the bride?” To highlight the importance the groom’s family places on the daughter-in-law, it is customary here to bring a family member when traveling far to greet the bride.

Fortunately, An Yiqing was nearby, and upon hearing An Jing’s words, he said, ”Anyway, I’m not going.”

An Jing said, ”Then you can go with your elder brother.”

”Mother!” An Yiqing was displeased. ”I don’t want to go!”

”You are the most free,” An Jing paused, then carefully explained, ”Your second elder brother is still at Slayer Tower and likely won’t make it back, your fourth younger brother, although in the Imperial City, is frail and busy, so it’s better not to put him through this ordeal. Your fifth, sixth, and seventh younger brothers are only eleven, and the little darling is just two and a half years old. For all intents and purposes, you are the most suitable.”

”Had I known I wouldn’t have come to see you and father...” An Yiqing grumbled, still very dissatisfied.

”Even if you don’t come to see us, you are in the Imperial City, and when we arrive in the Imperial City, it’s still you who will go with your elder brother.”

”Mother, I truly don’t want to go...” An Yiqing was still unwilling. After glancing at Su Yi Jing, he grumbled again, ”I don’t like her as my sister-in-law at all.”

”What kind of words are you saying, child? I know you are resentful because your elder brother went to Wufeng, causing father and mother sadness and distress before. You are upset, but your father and mother don’t care about it anymore, and you shouldn’t be upset either. Besides, your elder brother is about to get married. From now on, Qingqing and we are family, so why quarrel with family?”
