Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1672: Chapter 1673: She Might Be Able to Help Her...

She still wanted to have a Prince to secure her position as Empress, but if Dongfang Tianyang didn’t visit her palace, how could she conceive?

The reason she became Empress was solely because of her family’s support. The other concubines either had sons or daughters, while she had no offspring yet. She was anxious. If her family didn’t have power, Dongfang Tianyang could have used this reason to depose her and let someone else become Empress.

Carrying the resentment of An Jing grabbing all of Dongfang Tianyang’s attention, Empress Xu came before An Jing.

An Jing already knew that this was Empress Xu.

Earlier, Empress Xu scolded the guards loudly at the door, saying she was the harem’s ruler, how could she not enter a mere concubine’s courtyard? At that moment, An Jing already knew the Empress of Dongqing Kingdom had come to her.

An Jing disliked palace intrigue and had no interest in it. She wasn’t really Dongfang Tianyang’s concubine, so why should she care about his wives and concubines? Thus, she calmly continued to sit there, drinking tea.

Once the tea in the cup was finished, she didn’t drink anymore but picked up a book beside her and started reading.

Empress Xu walked up to An Jing, saw that An Jing didn’t even look at her and continued doing her own business, immediately got angry and reprimanded, ”I am the ruler of the harem, you, a mere concubine, dare not stand and greet me upon seeing me?!”

An Jing still didn’t look at Empress Xu but said, ”I’m not some insignificant concubine, I am the Queen of Xiyun, why should I bow to you?”

The reason she claimed to be the Queen of Xiyun when meeting someone was to spread her identity through these people, hoping her husband would know and find her faster.

No one in this courtyard had the guts to spread it.

Dongfang Tianyang wouldn’t spread it.

Dongfang Tianchong probably wouldn’t spread it either.

But this Empress Xu might help her...

”You are the Queen of Xiyun? Aren’t you afraid of becoming a laughingstock? The Emperor would fancy a married woman, you can’t fool me, I’m not stupid.” Empress Xu simply didn’t believe An Jing’s words.

An Jing casually, ”Believe it or not, I am An Jing, Queen of Xiyun. Also, Dongfang Tianyang does fancy a married woman, laugh to your heart’s content.”

”Are you out of your mind,” Empress Xu still didn’t believe. ”The Emperor has a harem of three thousand, each with heavenly beauty; if you are a married woman, he would definitely not fancy you.”

An Jing only chuckled lightly, not wasting her breath to continue speaking.

But Empress Xu took An Jing’s chuckle as ridicule, and immediately got enraged again, ”Why haven’t you stood up and greeted me? Do you not take me seriously? You’ve been in the palace for so long, hasn’t anyone taught you palace etiquette? Well, today, I’ll have someone teach you properly!”

Saying this, Empress Xu ordered the two maids behind her to teach An Jing how to bow to her as Empress.

The two maids, backed by Empress Xu, were not at all polite and approached An Jing boldly, but unfortunately, An Jing kicked each one, and both maids were knocked to the ground, clutching their stomachs in pain, unable to get up.

”You!” Empress Xu looked at the two maids on the ground, even more furious. ”Dared to lay hands on my people! Fine, today I’ll personally teach you, this heedless wench!”

”Making you sedu——” Emperor.

Empress Xu angrily slapped towards An Jing, but before her words finished, An Jing caught her wrist, twisted it back, and Empress Xu screamed in pain.
