Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1665: Chapter 1666: My Husband Never Beats Me

An Jing really hated Dongfang Tianyang’s gaze; An Jing felt that his eyes were full of intense plunder, which made her particularly disgusted.

Fortunately, Dongfang Tianyang had many memorials to review and did not stay long in the Quiet Heart Garden. He said just a couple of words to An Jing before leaving.

...

Because her arm was injured, practicing swordplay could worsen the wound, so An Jing temporarily stopped practicing. She spent her days tending to the flowers and plants in the Quiet Heart Garden, making tea, and playing chess.

No matter how pleasant life was, An Jing especially missed her husband and child.

On this day, An Jing was sitting in the courtyard of the Quiet Heart Garden, with a chessboard laid out on the stone table. The black and white pieces were on either side, and An Jing did not want any palace maids or eunuchs to accompany her; she played chess by herself.

Her chess skills were not superb, but playing chess was a good way to pass the time.

While An Jing was playing chess with herself, Dongfang Tianyang arrived.

As soon as he saw An Jing playing chess, he came over. Whether An Jing was willing or not, he picked up the white pieces and played against An Jing.

An Jing said nothing and just played with the black pieces.

Soon, An Jing lost.

Dongfang Tianyang immediately laughed loudly and said, ”Jing Er, you need more practice with your chess skills.”

An Jing didn’t mind, and while sipping her tea, she casually said, ”My husband is particularly good at chess, but he never wins against me.”

Dongfang Tianyang instantly felt a pang in his heart.

After a pause, he said ingratiatingly, ”Let’s play another game, Jing Er. This time I’ll let you win.”

But An Jing was unwilling to play anymore.

Dongfang Tianyang was very frustrated but still spoke kindly, ”Jing Er, give me a chance. I’ll really treat you well.”

An Jing said, ”No one can treat me better than my husband.”

”I am your husband now.”

An Jing just let out a light laugh, filled with mockery.

Dongfang Tianyang suppressed his anger and asked, ”Can you tell me how well he treats you, so I can do the same?”

An Jing laughed, ”You, the Emperor of Dongqing, now want to be my husband’s stand-in?”

”You!” Dongfang Tianyang was furious. How could he want to be someone else’s substitute? He didn’t want that at all!

An Jing ignored Dongfang Tianyang’s anger and smiled, ”Even if I tell you how well my husband treats me, you won’t be able to do it; and even if you can, I won’t be moved to like you. You better save your effort.”

”Do you have to anger me to make yourself happy?!” Dongfang Tianyang swept the chessboard off the table in his rage.

An Jing wasn’t afraid at all; she nodded with a smile, ”Yes.”

Dongfang Tianyang gritted his teeth and growled, ”An Jing!”

An Jing just smiled, composed as if Dongfang Tianyang was merely a clown, which infuriated him even more.

Seeing An Jing like this, Dongfang Tianyang was driven mad. Not caring if there were others in the courtyard, he pounced at An Jing, wanting to force her to submit to him right there. Never had a woman dared to treat him this way!

But how could An Jing let him have his way?

An Jing took out a pair of scissors and stabbed toward Dongfang Tianyang. However, Dongfang Tianyang also had martial arts skills and, knowing An Jing had scissors, was prepared. He turned and snatched the scissors away from her.

Throwing the scissors aside, Dongfang Tianyang grabbed An Jing’s collar, trying to tear off her clothes.

But An Jing kicked Dongfang Tianyang in the groin.
