Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1668: Chapter 1669: You Know My Husband

Dongfang Tianyang continued, ”If it weren’t for my consideration of the Xu family’s influence in the court, I would have deposed her long ago, rather than allow her to act so arrogantly in the palace.”

Dongfang Tianchong said, ”Since you know, I won’t say much more, brother. However, Emperor, who exactly is this Concubine Intention you’re keeping so mysterious? Although people outside don’t know, it’s the talk of the palace.”

”Just my beloved,” Dongfang Tianyang said, not elaborating further.

Unexpectedly, it was actually the beloved of his younger brother. Dongfang Tianchong was delighted and immediately asked, ”Which family’s girl is she?”

”Even if I told you, Brother, you wouldn’t know her. I met her by chance, and I had her brought here to be my concubine,” he replied.

As for his own younger brother, with whom he had a great relationship, Dongfang Tianchong was used to Dongfang Tianyang’s way of handling things. Hearing that he had brought a woman to be a concubine, Dongfang Tianchong just laughed heartily, neither surprised nor judging Dongfang Tianyang.

Since she had already been brought to be a concubine, any reproach would be useless.

However, Dongfang Tianchong was still quite curious about the kind of woman who could capture his brother’s heart and be called his beloved by him. So, as soon as he left Dongfang Tianyang, Dongfang Tianchong headed straight to Quiet Heart Garden, intending to meet this Concubine Intention.

But upon reaching Quiet Heart Garden, the guards stopped him, forbidding his entry.

Dongfang Tianchong immediately rebuked, ”How dare you! Do you not recognize who I am, blocking my way?”

The Guard Commander immediately saluted respectfully and said, ”Forgive me, Prince, we are merely following the Emperor’s orders. The Emperor has forbidden anyone from entering.”

Thinking to himself that he only wanted to take a look at this Concubine Intention, and even if he forced his way in, his Emperor brother shouldn’t blame him, Dongfang Tianchong disregarded the guards and barged his way inside.

Since he was already there, how could he turn back so easily?

Even the guards didn’t truly engage in any confrontation with Dongfang Tianchong, as even the Emperor had to show him some respect. Once Dongfang Tianchong forced his way through, they let him into Quiet Heart Garden.

An Jing was inside Quiet Heart Garden, drinking tea. This tea was Dongqing’s finest, only for the imperial family, but even so, An Jing found it couldn’t compare to the teas of Xiyun, not even their ordinary teas.

If she were with her husband and children, no matter if it was just water from rinsing the pot, she would gladly drink it.

From the entrance came the sound of a man angrily rebuking the guards, the man referring to himself as the Prince, and the guards addressing him respectfully as Prince. Although An Jing heard this, she felt too lazy to care. The princes here were strangers to her, she had no connection to them, and whether that prince entered or not held no consequence to her.

However, the prince barged in anyway.

To An Jing’s surprise, this prince was incredibly ugly, immediately reminding her of when her husband mentioned how particularly ugly Dongfang Tianyang’s Third Imperial Brother was. This person might just be Dongfang Tianchong.

With that in mind, An Jing continued sipping her tea slowly and asked with a faint smile, ”Third Prince, why do you insist on seeing me?”

Dongfang Tianchong paused, ”You recognize this Prince, ma’am?”

”No,” An Jing quickly waved her hand in refusal, ”Don’t call me ma’am, I am Queen of Xiyun, An Jing. You know my husband, Su Changyi. If you must address me, either call me Queen of Xiyun or simply use my name.”

Dongfang Tianchong exclaimed in shock, ”You are Queen of Xiyun?!”
