Chapter 1663: Chapter 1664: Sharpening One’s Sword at the Last Minute, Better Dull Than Not Shine

Jingxin Garden is neither too big nor too small, unable to go out, and with no trustworthy person to talk to. It’s not like now where she can watch TV or surf the internet, so An Jing is quite bored. Practicing swordsmanship passes the time better than idleness.

She definitely doesn’t want her skills to deteriorate because she’s stuck here.

However, there’s another reason she practices swordsmanship.

She plans to try to break out in a few days, to see if she can escape Jingxin Garden. In the meantime, she will practice her sword thoroughly.

There’s a saying, ”Sharpen a spear just before the battle, it’ll be bright even if not sharp.”

Even if she can’t break out of Jingxin Garden, it doesn’t matter. She’s already in this Dongqing Imperial Palace. Even if she escapes Jingxin Garden, there’s no way she can break out of this heavily guarded palace just by her own power.

She’s idle anyway, so she might as well use the guards as sparring partners.

An Jing holds a branch as her sword, thinking to herself. According to Dongfang Tianyang, those guards are very skilled. If she faces skilled opponents multiple times, her skill will surely improve significantly.

It can be seen that for being in the Dongqing Imperial Palace at the moment, An Jing is still extremely optimistic.

Five days later, on July 1st, An Jing strolls again in the Jingxin Garden. As she strolls, she walks up to a guard, who immediately bows, fists clasped, and lowers his head, daring not to look directly at her.

An Jing seizes the moment to draw the guard’s longsword and hold it in her hand, then attacks the guard.

The guard is shocked and quickly retreats. Then, he uses the sword sheath still in his hand to block the longsword that An Jing attacks with.

Although the guard’s skills surpass An Jing’s, he’s now using a sword sheath, not a sword. How can he possibly fend off An Jing’s fierce sword strikes?

Just when An Jing is about to injure the guard, the other guards react and come over one after another.

Some guards didn’t expect An Jing’s skills to be this good, but they aren’t too shabby either. Moreover, they have numbers. Soon, one guard knocks the sword out of An Jing’s hand, but once the sword is knocked away, the guards don’t continue to attack An Jing.

And An Jing also withdraws.

However, during the skirmish with those guards, An Jing still gets her arm scratched by one guard.

”Quickly go and get an Imperial Physician!” Seeing An Jing injured, Good Time hurriedly dispatches a eunuch to request for the Imperial Physician.

The eunuch immediately leaves to do so.

Getting her arm cut by a sword, An Jing truly feels the pain, but she doesn’t frown at all. She merely covers her wounded arm while smiling at those guards.

Among those guards, there is a leader, the Guard Commander.

The Guard Commander, having sheathed the longsword, cupped his fists toward An Jing and said, ”Madam, you can’t escape. I advise you not to waste your efforts anymore.”

An Jing seems as if she hasn’t heard the Guard Commander’s words, turns around and walks indoors. In her heart, she already understands the level of these guards. Given her own skills, let alone this palace, she might never be able to break out of this Jingxin Garden.

Nevertheless, she doesn’t lose heart.

She firmly believes her husband will find her.

In the future, if she ever confronts these guards again, it will truly be using them as sparring partners.

By the time her husband finds her, her skills should have improved considerably.

Once inside, An Jing sits there, waiting for the Imperial Physician to come and treat her wound. When the Imperial Physician finishes tending to her arm injury, Dongfang Tianyang also arrives.

The Guard Commander had sent someone to inform Dongfang Tianyang.

Dongfang Tianyang naturally knows why An Jing is injured, but these guards are fiercely loyal to him. Even though Dongfang Tianyang feels distressed over An Jing’s injury, he doesn’t punish these guards for injuring her.
