Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1662: Chapter 1663: Quite a Thrill

But Dongfang Tianyang stopped them: ”All of you, get out!”

The palace maids immediately rushed out.

The guards hesitated a little, thinking that An Jing might still make an assassination attempt. However, seeing Dongfang Tianyang, the Emperor, with a cold expression particularly displeased that they hadn’t left, they no longer hesitated and quickly withdrew.

An Jing couldn’t care less about those guards. She merely took out a brocade handkerchief and calmly, leisurely wiped Dongfang Tianyang’s blood off the scissors. Afterward, she even used tea water to clean the scissors.

She originally had a dagger on her, but when she regained consciousness, she found it was gone, likely confiscated by Dongfang Tianyang’s people. The scissors she had now were taken from the dressing table while she was combing her hair in the morning, tucked away in the secret pocket of her sleeve to protect herself if needed, and they came in handy now.

At this moment, Dongfang Tianyang was wounded, and she was quite pleased.

However, not wanting to kill Dongfang Tianyang and end up dying in the Imperial Palace herself, An Jing didn’t continue to stab him. But if Dongfang Tianyang dared to touch her again, she would still stab him mercilessly.

Dongfang Tianyang clutched his wound, looking at An Jing with a complex expression as she cleaned the scissors with his blood. In the end, he said nothing and turned away.

The wound was still bleeding; his immediate priority should be dealing with the injury. As for An Jing, it could wait, considering she’s now in the Dongqing Imperial Palace, even if her skills are highly developed, she can’t escape.

An Jing didn’t care whether Dongfang Tianyang left or not. Once she saw the scissors were cleaned, she put them back into the secret pocket in her sleeve. Once the scissors were tucked away, she continued eating her breakfast.

After breakfast, An Jing walked out of the house, strolling around Jingxin Garden, with Good Time Beautiful Scenery respectfully following behind her, while there were eight guards in the garden.

There were four guards at the entrance of Jingxin Garden.

There were more than twelve guards who rushed in; presumably, there must be guards stationed around Jingxin Garden as well.

An Jing decided to leave Jingxin Garden, but the four guards at the entrance immediately blocked her path.

One of the guards said, ”Madam, don’t make it difficult for us; the Emperor said that if you agree to what he discussed with you, he will let you out of this garden on that day, but if you don’t agree, he’d rather let you die here than allow you to leave.”

Agree to what?

Of course, to agree to becoming one of Dongfang Tianyang’s women.

An Jing laughed coldly, not saying anything to the guard, turned around plucked a branch from a tree in the garden, and went inside the house, then shut the door with a reverse hand, leaving Good Time Beautiful Scenery and others outside.

Good Time Beautiful Scenery and other palace maids and eunuchs anxiously knocked on the door, fearing An Jing would do something foolish.

However, when they heard the sound of porcelain shattering on the ground from inside the house, they stopped knocking, no longer thinking An Jing would do something foolish, unanimously believing An Jing was venting by smashing things inside the house.

In reality, An Jing wasn’t smashing things.

An Jing was merely practicing swordplay inside the house using the tree branch as a sword and the limited space of the room inevitably caused her to accidentally hit the furniture, leading to the sound of vases and scrolls breaking on the floor.

In the past, at the Xiyun mansion, An Jing would occasionally practice swordplay. Now, after more than a month, An Jing hadn’t touched a sword at all and indeed felt a bit rusty, but even with a branch, practicing felt quite invigorating.
