Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1671: Chapter 1672: An Jing Targeted for Trouble

Dongfang Tianyang quickly helped him up: ”I don’t want to blame my royal brother, it’s just that I don’t want the fact that Concubine Intention was once the Empress of Xiyun to get out, so no one is allowed into the Quiet Heart Garden.”

Dongfang Tianchong got up and said: ”This can be concealed for a while, but not forever.”

Dongfang Tianyang clasped his hands behind his back and said: ”As long as it is concealed until Xiyun and Dongqing go to war, there’s no need to hide it forever.”

Xiyun and Dongqing will inevitably go to war someday, even if Xiyun doesn’t come to reclaim those seven cities, his ambitions in Dongqing will eventually lead him to attack Xiyun; his ambition is to unite the world.

Dongfang Tianchong understood Dongfang Tianyang’s ambition and didn’t say anything further. The people have been bound, there’s no medicine for regret.

But Dongfang Tianyang spoke again: ”Royal brother, you train the troops tirelessly every day, from now on, you don’t need to be distracted by palace affairs. This is my harem, I will manage it myself. You should help me manage the military camp; I hope my royal brother can help me unite the world.”

Dongfang Tianchong immediately responded: ”Emperor, rest assured, as long as I live, I will definitely help the Emperor, never betray.” He was his younger brother, with too much palace intrigue; ever since their mother passed away, he and his brother have relied on each other, no matter what, he would support his brother.

Dongfang Tianyang was very satisfied.

Dongfang Tianchong sighed and then said, in the manner of an elder brother: ”Emperor, that An Jing is the mother of seven children, why do you still fancy her? There are many more beautiful girls in Dongqing than she. Most importantly, those girls haven’t been married, all of them hoping to marry you.”

Dongfang Tianyang was somewhat helpless: ”I just fell for her, what can I do.”

Upon hearing Dongfang Tianyang’s words, Dongfang Tianchong knew that Dongfang Tianyang truly liked An Jing very much, so he didn’t say anything more but couldn’t help sighing.

Just then, a guard hurriedly reported: ”Reporting to the Emperor, the Empress has barged into the Quiet Heart Garden.”

”That Ms. Xu!” Dongfang Tianyang was furious and was about to head to Quiet Heart Garden, afraid that An Jing would suffer at the hands of Ms. Xu.

However, Dongfang Tianchong quickly stopped Dongfang Tianyang, advising: ”Emperor, the Xu family is still deeply rooted, you must not severely punish the Empress and aggravate the Xu family.”

”Rest assured, royal brother, I know my limits.”

Only then did Dongfang Tianchong step aside, allowing Dongfang Tianyang to go to Quiet Heart Garden.

...

Quiet Heart Garden.

Dongfang Tianchong had just left when Empress Xu stepped into Quiet Heart Garden.

Empress Xu originally dared not barge into Quiet Heart Garden, as Dongfang Tianyang had decreed that no one could enter Quiet Heart Garden. But seeing Dongfang Tianchong break into Quiet Heart Garden without consequence, with the guards not doing much to stop him, she was moved to also break in, wanting to see what kind of seductress Concubine Intention was that made the Emperor come to Quiet Heart Garden daily.

As soon as Empress Xu entered Quiet Heart Garden, she saw An Jing sitting in the pavilion drinking tea. In her eyes, An Jing had a decent appearance, but didn’t have the youthfulness of a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl, especially as her makeup was hardly proper, with her hair barely combed, simply tied casually... to be honest, Empress Xu genuinely didn’t know why Dongfang Tianyang liked An Jing.

She was more presentable than An Jing, younger than An Jing, and more beautiful than An Jing.

She truly couldn’t fathom An Jing’s charm that compelled Dongfang Tianyang to visit Quiet Heart Garden every day, completely neglecting other concubines’ palaces, especially hers, which Dongfang Tianyang hadn’t visited for a long time.
