Chapter 1666: Chapter 1667: Never Tolerate Humiliation, Never Endure Insult

Dongfang Tianyang saw it and quickly dodged, letting go of An Jing’s collar.

An Jing saw the situation, and immediately took advantage of the opportunity to spin away, moving farther from Dongfang Tianyang, while grabbing the scissors that Dongfang Tianyang had thrown to the ground nearby.

Dongfang Tianyang realized he couldn’t control An Jing and, driven mad with anger, wanted to call the guards to help restrain her.

He was determined to have An Jing this day, to make her beg for mercy beneath him.

But just as the guards took a step towards An Jing, she pointed the scissors at her own neck.

”Come on, then!” An Jing shouted angrily at Dongfang Tianyang and the guards, stabbing the sharp end of the scissors slightly into her neck. Blood immediately flowed from the pierced skin.

Rather than live in humiliation, she’d rather die!

At this moment, An Jing’s eyes were so resolute it sent shivers down one’s spine, as if in the next second the scissors would pierce through her throat.

The guards immediately dared not approach. The Emperor only wanted them to stop An Jing, not to force her to death; they hesitated, waiting for his orders to proceed if needed.

Dongfang Tianyang, this Emperor, was frightened by An Jing’s suicidal action, instantly sobered, losing all his anger.

Dongfang Tianyang, panicked with fear, said repeatedly, ”Jing Er, don’t get agitated, please put down the scissors. I lost my mind; I was just angry just now, but it’s because I love you too much. I don’t want you treating me this way. I promise I won’t do this to you again. Please put down the scissors, I’m begging you.”

She was a wild horse, and he naturally knew her fierce nature, but he hadn’t expected her to be so defiant, preferring death over submission.

”Dongfang Tianyang,” An Jing still held the scissors to her neck, letting the blood flow, ”I’m laying it down here today: this body of mine, except for my husband Su Changyi, nobody should even think about touching it. Otherwise, I’d rather die!”

An Jing never takes abuse.

Nor humiliation!

Dongfang Tianyang now only wished An Jing would take the scissors away from her neck. Watching the continuous flow of blood made him panic, afraid he might lose the beloved he had managed to capture, so at this moment he wasn’t even thinking of being jealous over An Jing’s every word filled with deep affection for Xiao Changyi. He quickly responded, ”Jing Er, as long as you don’t harm yourself, I will never force you again. I really lost my temper earlier, lost my sense. You’re magnanimous, please don’t bother with me, quickly put down the scissors.”

An Jing wore white clothes that day, with bright red blood flowing from her neck, staining the fabric near her throat—particularly shocking.

The scissors pressed against her neck, breaking the skin and still bleeding. An Jing felt pain but showed none of it on her face. She had already spoken her words; whether Dongfang Tianyang meant what he said, she could hardly care, thinking that at worst she could just die.

Thinking this way, An Jing put down the scissors.

Dongfang Tianyang immediately ordered someone to call the Imperial Physician.

An Jing didn’t allow the Imperial Physician to attend to the wound on her neck; she handled it herself with medicine before the bronze mirror.

Judging by the state of the wound, it seemed it would leave a scar.

Involuntarily, An Jing thought of her husband. If her husband saw a scar on her neck, he would probably be heartbroken.

Dongfang Tianyang stood at a distance watching An Jing.

Dongfang Tianyang didn’t dare approach An Jing because as soon as he got closer, An Jing would pick up those scissors and point them at her neck again.
