Chapter 1447: Chapter 1448: Annihilation of Humanity

Meng Lanqing immediately laughed: ”You’re the only one who dares to say that. Back then, who was crying and calling our Great General ’grandfather’, hoping he would spare you? Oh right, you even had your belt snatched by our Great General and ended up running away bare-assed. That scene is still fresh in my mind~ What, Ma Da Gong, is your memory so poor that you’ve forgotten such unforgettable things?”

The Xiyun soldiers immediately burst into loud laughter, mocking Ma Da Gong.

Ma Da Gong’s face turned red in an instant, and he angrily cursed: ”Damn you! This Great General never—”

”Pfft.” The thought of the broad-shouldered, burly Ma Da Gong running away bare-assed made a nearby guard try hard to suppress his laughter, but in the end, he couldn’t hold it back and snorted out a laugh.

”Damn it, how dare you laugh at me!” Ma Da Gong, furious, walked over and gave the guard who laughed at him a kick, sending him off the city tower.

The soldier hit the ground with a loud thud and, on the spot, spewed blood and died.

The soldiers of Chilin were aware of Ma Da Gong’s brutality, but seeing how brutal he was, they were filled with both fear and resentment. This Great General didn’t see them as human! He cursed at them when he wanted, beat them when he wished, and killed them at will. How could they willingly be led by this Great General!

Xiyun’s soldiers, including Xiao Changyi, were momentarily stunned by the scene.

It was then that they truly witnessed Ma Da Gong’s horrendous brutality.

Meng Zhuqing immediately shouted angrily at the people on the opposite tower: ”Ma Da Gong, you’re inhumane!”

Then, Meng Zhuqing addressed the soldiers on the wall: ”Your Great General is so brutal, are you still willing to follow him? It would be better to surrender to Xiyun and align with us. Xiyun doesn’t have such inhumane leaders like Ma Da Gong!”

Those soldiers didn’t respond to Meng Zhuqing’s words, but in their hearts, they were saying: We don’t want to either, but what choice do we have.

Ma Da Gong became even angrier: ”They are the soldiers of Chilin. In life, they are people of Chilin; in death, they are ghosts of Chilin. Anyone who dares to surrender, just see if I don’t bury them alive!”

The soldiers were even more frightened.

Meng Lanqing shouted loudly: ”I’ve heard that your Emperor grows more brutal each day, rivaling this Great General, if not surpassing him. And yet, you remain loyal to him. Foolish! If I were you, I would rebel, overthrow them, and create better days for ourselves.”

”You effeminate fool, stop inciting my Chilin soldiers to rebel!” Ma Da Gong immediately cursed at Meng Lanqing. ”As Chilin people, loyalty to the sovereign and love for the country come first. Such little words from you can’t sway us! You want us to have internal strife so you can benefit as bystanders. I’ll tell you, this ploy is too crude, and we won’t fall for it, you grandfather-haters!”

The soldiers on the tower immediately echoed: ”Loyalty to the sovereign and love for the country, we won’t fall for it!”

Meng Lanqing didn’t care if they would fall for it or not; he continued to urge the enemy soldiers to surrender. After all, with nothing else to do, it was better to argue endlessly with the enemy.

Xiao Changyi still led the army where it was, intending to siege the city once the time was ripe.

On the other side, Ye Zhi and Qi Gaoda had led their people past the forest and were now lurking by the river.

Baoqin, Lie Qi, Ting Shu, Shi Hua all carried bows and arrows. At Ye Zhi’s command, they, along with the two hundred archers led by Qi Gaoda, shot arrows at the Chilin soldiers on the opposite side.
