Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1443: Chapter 1444 Deploying Troops and Dispatching Generals

Seek allegiance with Chilin...

Clearly, they are Xiyun people, yet they go to seek allegiance with Chilin; isn’t that treason?

Xiao Changyi’s eyes narrowed dangerously, ”Do you know why they want to seek allegiance with Chilin?”

”From their conversation last night with their wives and children, and their backgrounds, it can be inferred...” Qin Er quietly explained the reasons why Guo Nongzhi and Tong Nongzhi wanted to seek allegiance with Xi Lin.

After listening, Xiao Changyi snorted coldly, ”Foolish.”

Being petty themselves, they think everyone else is just as petty, remembering every little grudge and grievance. It’s the height of foolishness. He and his wife had long forgotten about these two people, yet these two still insist on making trouble. This isn’t just foolishness; it’s hopelessly foolish.

”Master, what about this...?” Qin Er asked how to deal with the two farmers’ knowledge.

Xiao Changyi sneered, ”They are already committing treason. What, should we wait until they succeed in their treason before treating them as traitors?”

Qin Er immediately understood, ”Yes, I will immediately deal with them as traitors!”

Xiao Changyi no longer paid attention to Qin Er, riding Zhuiri, continuing out of the city.

...

The day before the siege.

The main commanders gathered in the Great General’s tent.

In the Great General’s tent, there was an enormous table, upon which lay a sand table of Jingye City, made by the female soldiers over a day and a half. The commanders stood around the sand table, as if Jingye City were right under their noses, boosting their confidence for the battle the next day.

Originally, when the female soldiers braved the Old Lin forest to obtain the topographic map of Jingye City, it was enough to make everyone look at them in a new light. Now, with the sand table, no one dared to underestimate any of the female soldiers.

The female soldiers had already shone even before the battle had begun.

The siege plan had been discussed and finalized several days prior. Xiao Changyi’s plan for the siege was deemed excellent by the commanders, with not a single objection.

Facing the sand table, Xiao Changyi reiterated the siege plan. Compared to explaining with a map, this was more rousing, as if Jingye City had already been conquered.

An Jing and Ye Zhi were also present.

An Jing was there to listen in; her hand had not yet recovered, so she couldn’t lead troops in battle. Listening was just to ease her mind, allowing her not to worry in ignorance.

As for Ye Zhi, she came representing the Women’s Camp. As Deputy General, she could lead troops into battle.

Once the plan was stated and there were still no objections, Xiao Changyi assigned the commanders to lead the troops and execute the siege according to the plan.

”Qi Gaoda, you will lead two thousand troops skilled in water navigation, pass through the mountains and wade the river, entering the enemy camp, using smoke signals as a cue.”

Qi Gaoda immediately clasped his fists, ”Yes, Great General!”

”Ye Zhi.”

”This General is here!” Ye Zhi clasped her fists and responded loudly.

”You will lead the female soldiers, along with Qi Gaoda, passing through the mountains.”

”Yes, Great General!” Ye Zhi had no objections.

”Qi Tengfei.”

”This General is here!”

”You will lead twenty thousand troops to attack the West Gate of Jingye City, drawing part of the enemy forces there.”

”Yes, Great General!”

...

...

...

”Liu Buli, you will remain in the city, leaving one hundred thousand troops. If there’s any unusual situation, immediately lead the troops to respond to us.”

”Yes, Great General!”

”The rest will follow this Great General for a frontal assault on the city!”

The other commanders, including Meng Zhuqing and Meng Lanqing, immediately clasped their fists and said loudly, ”Yes, Great General!”

An Jing watched Xiao Changyi as he commanded troops around the sand table, with such presence, charm, and authority... This is what it means to strategize and control everything!
