Chapter 1426: Chapter 1427: If You Want Your Hand to be Ruined

Gong Juechen left the city privately to the mountains for Ye Zhi, even saving her life. But in the end, Gong Juechen had to be punished and was beaten with twenty military rods. If she were Ye Zhi, she would understand, but she would still mind this matter in her heart.

Need to find a chance to chat with Ye Zhi.

Can’t let this matter ruin their friendship.

Having made up her mind, An Jing temporarily set this matter aside. Once she returned to the posthouse, An Jing had someone bring hot water, took a quick hot bath, and changed into clean clothes.

Li Wuyu also went to soak in a hot bath and changed into clean clothes.

After changing into clean clothes, An Jing had Doctor Zhu take a look at the injuries on her hands and forehead.

The injuries on her hands were quite severe; they had been pierced by pig bristles, causing both hands to bleed, and later soaked in water for a long time. The flesh inside was no longer a healthy pink but completely pale, and it was a blessing that it hadn’t festered yet.

After applying medication on An Jing’s hands, Doctor Zhu bandaged them and advised An Jing, ”If the General doesn’t want to lose the use of these hands, don’t use them until they’ve healed.”

Lose the use?

An Jing was momentarily stunned by the severity, then agreed, stating she would take good care of her hands and not use them until they were healed.

As for An Jing’s forehead, although a lot of blood had been shed, it was just a small cut and not a major issue. However, Doctor Zhu mentioned that it might leave a scar.

A scar...

It seems she’ll have to leave some bangs in the future, otherwise, her husband might feel heartbroken seeing the scar on her forehead every day.

”Is there anywhere else the General feels unwell?” After medicating the wound on An Jing’s forehead, Doctor Zhu respectfully asked.

An Jing replied, ”I’m not sure if I caught a chill from being in the river, I feel a bit feverish and dizzy.”

Doctor Zhu immediately checked An Jing’s pulse and stated after the examination, ”The General indeed has caught a cold.”

He then hurriedly prescribed a few doses of medicine to expel the cold and instructed someone to prepare a dose for An Jing to take immediately.

Seeing that Doctor Zhu had finished treating her, An Jing said, ”Doctor Zhu, please go and check on Li Wuyu. She was in the water with me last night and likely caught a cold as well.”

”Yes.”

Just as Doctor Zhu closed his medicine box and was about to leave, Xiao Changyi rushed in anxiously.

”Jing Er!”

”Husband!”

As soon as An Jing and Xiao Changyi saw each other, they embraced warmly. Doctor Zhu: ”...” My old eyes are about to go blind...

”Husband, I have something good to show you.” Knowing that Xiao Changyi would rush back immediately upon learning of her return, An Jing waited at the posthouse instead of going to the military camp to find him.

Now that Xiao Changyi was back, An Jing was eager to show him the three maps.

But before she could fetch them, Doctor Zhu exclaimed, ”General, you can’t use your hands right now!”

”...” An Jing pointed at the three pieces of parchment not far away, ”I can’t even carry that much?”

Doctor Zhu replied, ”If you want to lose the use of your hands.” Then go ahead and take them.

Understanding the implication, An Jing: ”...”

As soon as Xiao Changyi held An Jing, he started inspecting her. He noticed the injury on her forehead, the small cuts on her face made by branches, and that her hands were already bandaged.

Judging by the extent of the bandaging, the injuries on her hands must be quite severe.

Seeing An Jing injured, Xiao Changyi’s gaze turned instantly cold, and his face darkened with displeasure.
