Chapter 1415: Chapter 1416: Standing Out in a Crowd

Stab straight into the wild boar’s heart, then flip the sword slightly and pull it out.

As soon as the sword was pulled out, blood gushed out and sprayed everywhere.

It was clear that Du Aya was indeed very skilled at slaughtering pigs.

While Du Aya went for the boar’s throat, Tobanya seized the opportunity while the boar couldn’t focus on her and stabbed her sword straight through its belly from the side.

Du Aya and Tobanya both withdrew their swords from the wild boar at the same time. At that moment, the boar collapsed entirely, and An Jing, who was on the boar’s back, quickly jumped off to avoid getting crushed and injured further.

An Jing rolled twice on the ground before stabilizing herself.

”Is everyone okay?” As soon as An Jing got up from the ground, she asked about everyone’s condition.

”We’re fine.” The five female soldiers, despite being more or less injured, declared they were fine. Even Baoqin, who had been struck by the boar hard enough to spit out blood, claimed she was fine.

At this moment, Baoqin and Liu Feifei were being helped up by Du Aya and Li Wuyu, respectively.

An Jing scanned the five female soldiers, noticing several fresh cuts on their exposed skin. However, she said nothing and merely lowered her head to look at her own bloodied hands, which were impaled by the boar’s coarse bristles.

It really hurt.

An Jing’s hands trembled slightly from the pain.

Nevertheless, she simply glanced at them before washing her hands in a nearby puddle and applying a bit of golden sore medicine casually.

As for the cuts on her face and other parts of her body, An Jing didn’t bother addressing them. If it weren’t for the severity of the injuries to her hands, she wouldn’t have treated them either. Supplies were limited, and there was no telling what might happen on the way down the mountain, so she needed to conserve the medicine.

Throwing the golden sore medicine to Du Aya, An Jing said, ”Put some on your hand too.”

Du Aya’s left hand was covered in blood, badly injured from grabbing the boar’s bristles.

Du Aya understood how precious the medicine was to them at this moment, so she was careful not to use too much—only a small amount on her injured left hand. Afterward, she returned the medicine to An Jing.

Once An Jing stored the golden sore medicine, she went to pull the dagger still embedded in the boar’s body.

After pulling the dagger out, An Jing cleaned off the blood and placed the dagger back into her boot.

”General, why don’t we take this wild boar back with us? Judging from its sturdy physique, the meat must be delicious,” Du Aya said, salivating at the thought of the wild boar’s meat.

An Jing replied, ”The scent of blood is too strong and will likely attract other predators. It will take us at least two hours to reach the foot of the mountain. Carrying this boar isn’t safe. Let’s move quickly instead.”

It had already taken significant effort to deal with this wild boar, and if another predator showed up, they might not be able to handle it. It was better to leave this blood-soaked area as soon as possible.

”Alright!” Hearing that the scent of blood could attract predators, Du Aya gave up on the idea of taking the wild boar back.

They hurriedly descended the mountain together with An Jing.

An Jing kept thinking as she made her way down, and finally, when they were close to the foot of the mountain, she stopped and said, ”Wuyu, come with me to scout the enemy’s situation.”

”With too many people, we’ll be conspicuous. Just the two of us will be enough. Jade Jade, you and the others head back first.” As she spoke, An Jing took out the map she had drawn and handed it to Tobanya. ”Once you return, give this to the Great General.”

After pausing for a moment, she added, ”Remember to tell the Great General not to worry. I will definitely return safe and sound.”
