Pillar of Yita

What Diket saw, naturally, were Tang Xin and Ai Xiaoxiao, who had just stepped onto Fanric’s soil.

The two had been traveling in Eteliria for quite a long time, and their holiday was nearing its end. However, Ai Xiaoxiao had not forgotten her main goal—the main event of the Continental League was about to start—so she hurriedly dragged Tang Xin to the Southern Region.

After all, they naturally couldn’t go to the Osh Empire—not to mention the visa issues, the time also wouldn’t allow it. But even if they couldn’t attend the main event, they had to at least watch the last exhibition match held in Colin Ishurian.

Although the trip to Eteliria was bizarre enough to make every tourist feel it was worth the trip, Ai Xiaoxiao still felt a bit regretful—of course, Tang Xin naturally understood the little thought in her friend’s mind.

However, she didn’t object, so they said goodbye to Ai Xiaoxiao’s parents and took an airship south.

In fact, they were in Golande a week ago, and although the northern snow had melted, the temperature had not fully warmed up. As soon as they reached the south, they immediately felt the warm climate here.

Meanwhile, after getting off the ship, Ai Xiaoxiao was struck dumb by the Aldofen Spire in Fanric.

At her side, Tang Xin was merely slightly surprised looking at the spire reaching into the clouds.

But the former was completely stunned. She looked up, her mouth agape, her eyes wide, and exclaimed, ”Oh my God, Tangtang, did you see that? It’s so beautiful!”

”I’m not a blind man, how could I not see it,” Tang Xin replied irritably.

”Of course I know,” Ai Xiaoxiao countered matter-of-factly, ”it’s just a way of expressing appreciation.”

”Your way of expressing appreciation is certainly unique,” Tang Xin thought, but she just sighed, ”It’s just okay, bears some resemblance to Elpaxin, didn’t we just visit there?”

”Each has its beauty, Tangtang, you’re really unromantic,” the girl complained.

Tang Xin just rolled her eyes at her.

What ”each has its beauty,” it was just her being startled again. Luckily, she was already used to it—her friend was simply a girl who acted spontaneously.

Speaking of which, she couldn’t help but remember how they spent so long picking ’traditional clothing’ of Eteliria back at Stargate Port, with Ai Xiaoxiao being the most excited. Yet, after wearing them in Eteliria for two days, she found them troublesome and went back to Earth-style clothing.

Fortunately, they weren’t true Invokers, nor was it a few years earlier—

After all, with the growing interaction between Earth and the natives, clothing from the Otherworld wouldn’t cause much of a stir locally. Of course, one reason was the increasing number of tourists and her choice of exploring classic routes, so the locals were already used to it.

Though they changed clothes, as tourists, they still held half an Invoker’s identity, and their jobs remained the same.

Tang Xin had an opal staff in hand, carrying a delicate white-gold Magic Guided Reactor, and her original pick from Stargate Port was a white Holy Robe—naturally fitting her role as a Healer.

Knowing her friend would get into countless troubles, she chose the role of Healer to protect her. More importantly, a Healer didn’t have to participate in dangerous combat and didn’t easily provoke other Invokers or natives.

But Ai Xiaoxiao was different, carrying an Agility Type Magic Guided Reactor with a pair of twin blades and a short bow on her back, evidently as a Ranger. Though the equipment looked brand new, as if hardly used.

New as it was, the equipment was anything but shabby.

The twin blades were a top Level 5 item, famous among Invokers and trainees as the ’Comet Twin Blades’, and the short bow was equally valuable, crafted by the Avenquin Elf.

But Tang Xin couldn’t understand the purpose of Ai Xiaoxiao’s gear since she not only fainted at the sight of blood but had also never participated in any combat since arriving in Eteliria.

Their Level 3 ranking was purely from the knowledge and exploration experience gained by map exploration.

The other party seemed oblivious to this and even planned to buy Tang Xin a set of top-notch Healer equipment, which Tang Xin firmly refused.

”Now that you’ve bought these things, how do you plan on disposing of them when you leave?” Tang Xin couldn’t resist asking. But Ai Xiaoxiao thought for a moment and naturally replied, ”Just find a handsome guy to give them to.”

”Are you running a fever or something?” Tang Xin reached out to feel her friend’s forehead.

Ai Xiaoxiao quickly removed her cold hand and amended, ”Indeed, it’s too troublesome,” pondering again, ”If I can’t, I might as well just toss them, since they’re not worth much anyway.”

”That’s what’s annoying about rich people,” Tang Xin grumbled internally.

Though in front of Ai Xiaoxiao’s parents, she refrained from saying it out loud and resolutely declined the offer for her own set of equipment.

Even Tang Xin herself couldn’t believe that she’d followed such a crazy girl all the way to the Southern Region.

They had been in Eteliria for two months, and while the other seemed to have boundless energy, Tang Xin felt utterly worn out—emotionally exhausted.
