Pillar of Yita

Just as he was able to get his own communication method from Princess Briana, few people know his new communication ID, but the Elf Princess is one of them.

Thinking of this, he changed his words and said, ”Mr. Diket, so did you come specially to find me for something?”

Diket clearly appreciated his quick wits, having already seen the potential hidden beneath the youth’s immature surface in Dolifen, and now it was merely a validation of his initial judgment—today, the young man not only grew up, but even faster than he imagined.

He then took out a suitcase, placed it on the table, and said to Fang Hong, ”I came over this time, first to bring you a reward.”

”A reward?” Fang Hong couldn’t help but glance at the suitcase, wondering what kind of reward he needed for the other to bring over. Something in this suitcase?

But Diket placed his hand on the case first and asked, ”Do you remember Aquitez, the old Dwarf.”

Aquitez? Fang Hong snorted in his heart, unable to help but think that even if he turned to dust, he would still recognize him. Thinking of the mishap caused in Elpaxin, all of it was orchestrated by these ungrateful old Dwarves, he still felt a bit annoyed.

Seeing his expression, Diket couldn’t help but smile, and he naturally understood the slight grudge in his heart. ”I know old Aquitez tricked you, but people always have to look forward, Ade. So this time, I brought his apology, and also this suitcase,” Diket replied.

”What exactly is in this suitcase, Mr. Diket?” The old Dwarf’s apology, he mostly didn’t believe. However, after so long, he hadn’t really dwelled on this matter anymore. Fang Hong just shook his head and asked.

Diket didn’t answer but directly opened the suitcase, only to see a neat stack of parchment papers inside. He then looked up and said to Fang Hong, ”I don’t know if you remember another thing, you helped Aquitez quite a bit in Elpaxin. Aquitez has actually been studying the restoration of Combat Fairies, and this is his research result—of course, it’s not solely his accomplishment, without your inspiration, he wouldn’t have been able to complete this part of the work. Therefore, you naturally deserve a copy of this design, which is what I meant by the reward I mentioned earlier.”

Hearing this, Fang Hong couldn’t help but widen his eyes slightly.

Combat Fairy. He was taken aback, he had thought of this matter in the Hall of Thousand Doors, but never expected that his initial flights of fancy would become a reality.

He instinctively took a step forward, but stopped to look at Diket who was still beside him. Diket nodded and answered, ”Don’t mind, this was originally yours.” Only then did Fang Hong step forward to pick up the stack of parchment, and just by looking at a few pages, he understood that the old Dwarf wasn’t bluffing; he had truly restored the Combat Fairy.

However, Aquitez’s Combat Fairy was neither similar to the kind of dark star, nor the type he’d used in the Hall of Thousand Doors. Or rather, this was the prototype of the latter, a very simple structure for a Combat Fairy, equipped with a complex launching device with a revolving drum for loading six lead bullets.

The complexity of this device lies in providing enough muzzle energy and stability for the lead bullets. Fang Hong glanced at the layered Alchemy Array and understood that he wouldn’t be able to comprehend it all at once, and would have to slowly ponder over it—even if the other party was unreliable, he was still a Grand Artificer after all.

Luckily, this was the original design, he could always learn a lot from chewing on it, and even if not, he could always duplicate it with the Invoker’s System. Aquitez made special annotations for him in many places on the drawings, which inadvertently reduced the difficulty of the blueprints, making it easier for an Invoker like him.

However, if that was all it took, many Alchemists on the continent could’ve done the same, and Combat Fairies wouldn’t be so hard to restore.

Behind these layered Alchemy Arrays, the real test was how the designer further simplified the structure, and how to fit this cumbersome concept into the palm-sized space of a Clockwork Fairy.

And how the cooling system behind it operates, this was the crux of the matter. Fang Hong understood at a glance that the old Dwarf used a crystal matrix for dissipation, with crystals densely packed and layered like scales under the Clockwork Fairy’s shell, less than three millimeters thick.

But the real secret lay in the Alchemy Array engraved on the crystal, that array was exactly Hain Famm’s solution to a similar problem.

Seeing this, Fang Hong recalled showing a trick in the Elpaxin Artisan Association, under everyone’s gaze. But seeing his own concept being applied to the Clockwork Fairy now, his first reaction was not joy, but a bit of caution.

He wasn’t worried about the technology he inherited from Hain Famm being leaked to others, in fact, Aquitez’s ability to use such lost technology to recreate the Combat Fairy encouraged him greatly.

Having experienced various troubles, Fang Hong worried more about these technologies falling into the hands of those with ulterior motives, or even into the followers of those Dark Giant Dragons—he was no longer as naïve as he once was, thinking advanced technology spread out would benefit the world. Just as Miss Tata said, it’s never a smooth path—if advanced technology can’t be controlled under stronger order, it might bring disaster instead of hope.
