Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong nodded lightly.

In front, only the sound of screeching could be heard as a swarm of pitch-black bats emerged from the fog.

...

The Female Knight skillfully twirled her silver sword, blood splattering, and the last Vampire Bat’s head detached, falling to the ground.

In the distance, the Vampire Minion engulfed in black mist finally realized something was wrong, showing its sharp white fangs, it screeched wanting to retreat, but at that moment a blue light descended from the sky, piercing through its head with a bang, nailing it to the ground.

Fang Hong caught the golden Clockwork Fairy with a snap, looked up, and saw Xi in her Silver Armor standing on the building’s rooftop, gazing down in this direction. He couldn’t help but nod gently towards her, and this Miss Companion Star Knight also rarely nodded slightly back in this direction.

Then she extended her hand and pointed in a direction in the distance.

Realizing her intent, Fang Hong immediately commanded the Clockwork Fairy to ascend in that direction, and the city’s complex terrain expanded intricately before his eyes.

And there, a battlefield appeared in his view.

Fang Hong adjusted his Wind Goggles with his hand, rotated the lens lightly, and quickly spoke: ”Directly south, a Level 27 Skeleton Giant, Sophie.”

”Can it be avoided?” Sophie asked.

”Wait, there are citizens trapped over there!”

Sophie halted her motion of sheathing her sword, turned back: ”Then let’s charge through directly. Ade, guide me.”

Fang Hong nodded, pulled a gesture, and a semi-transparent map unfolded slowly in front of the Silver Weslan’s Princess. Eight Clockwork Fairies were providing multiple coverage details from the sky for this map.

His gaze roamed across the map, connecting each focal point with a streak of blue light.

”This is the shortest route,” Fang Hong replied: ”Sophie, you from above, me from below, the Bone Giant’s weakness is in the upper body — I’ll have the Energy Angel distract them below.”

Sophie nodded lightly.

”Xiangzi.” Fang Hong lowered his head to give orders through the communication channel.

”Here, Captain.”

”Cover us.”

A loud crash echoed as the door shattered into pieces, its dark wooden texture splintering like bristling hair.

Those hiding behind the door let out terrifying screams, backing away. The men shielded the women, while the women shielded the children in their arms.

But it was futile; the building they fled into was originally a warehouse, with the rear door and windows long sealed shut. No matter how they battered, it wouldn’t budge, leaving the men screaming and cursing in vain, and the women and children wailing in despair.

The outside invaders showed no compassion for their cries. A rusted giant axe crashed through the splintered wooden fibers with another loud bang. It swayed lightly from side to side, generating a screech as it tore through the tightly bound wooden boards, causing them to fall one by one. A white skeletal giant hand pushed from behind, and with a thunderous crash, the door collapsed...

Amidst the swirling dust, two blazing flames appeared first, with a colossal skeleton teetering, trying to squeeze through the doorframe. The ground shook, walls crumbled, cracks spread, and it seemed the walls might collapse at any moment.

Witnessing this horrifying scene, those behind the door were left speechless, the men reduced to teeth chattering, minds blank, hoping being crushed under the falling building might be a preferable death.

Amidst the creaking sounds, only the sobs of women and children remained.

Just when everyone thought they couldn’t escape, a roar suddenly resounded. A nearly spherical figure charged forward with a Giant Shield and slammed right into the Skeleton Giant’s shin. Despite the impact, the Skeleton Giant remained unfazed, and the chubby figure rebounded, flying far away.

However, he succeeded in drawing the Skeleton Giant’s attention, which squeaked and withdrew from the doorframe, lifting its axe to turn and trudge slowly in that direction.

Luo Hao, bruised from his first attack, realized for the first time the Level suppression of this world beyond the Stargate. He recognized the Undead Creature over Level 25 — the Skeleton Colossus — from the start.

But upon seeing the tearful Little Luo among the crowd in the building, he somehow mustered courage from nowhere, charging forward recklessly. Now sobered, he shook his groggy head, feeling the heavy footsteps approaching.

Yet, with a bang, a shot struck the Skeleton Giant’s cheek, causing no harm, but halting the Undead Creature.

Luo Hao didn’t need to look back to know it was his teammate; he immediately heard his instructor’s voice: ”Luo Hao, keep attracting its attention.”

”Yihan, Mozhi, you go rescue people.”

Luo Hao felt a bit anguished, he was only Level 9, how could he attract the Skeleton Giant’s attention?

But as a Chosen of the military, obeying orders was his primary duty. Even Luo Hao didn’t realize his own change; gritting his teeth, determined, he leapt up — lifting his Giant Shield, charging again headlong at the Skeleton Giant.
