Pillar of Yita

However, it only took Luo Yu a second or two to produce a first-order crystal, dazzling everyone present. ”That’s so fast!” Tianlan exclaimed in surprise. She had seen some Elementalists nurtured by the Guild at the Twelve-Colored Iris, but none were at Luo Yu’s level.

And to think that the former had only become an Elementalist just over a month ago.

The taciturn young man spent about the same amount of time infusing the crystal with the surrounding Water Element Magic Power, turning it from its original colorless state to a sapphire that emitted a deep blue light.

Then he threw it forward, and the crystal exploded not far away, creating a dense fog of ice dust that obscured everyone’s sight.

”Mist Technique.”

”The range is at least thirty percent larger than usual,” Bakins, who had experienced many battles, naturally had extensive knowledge: ”This is the amplification brought about by the concentration of Water Element Magic Power. We once faced an Elementalist in a storm, and when they cast this spell under such conditions, the effect was similar to this.”

”The spellcasting time has also been reduced by twenty percent,” Luo Yu calculated, looking towards Gita: ”In this environment, my combat power could increase by more than half.”

”No wonder Tabopolis wanted you and Gita to participate in the Trainee trial together,” Tianlan suddenly realized: ”They had planned it all along, intending for the two of you to partner up. But a Natural Historian combined with a Magic Guided Conductor, that’s indeed formidable—”

Everyone nodded in agreement with this statement.

Gita finally breathed a sigh of relief and gently wiped the sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand, preparing to retract her spell.

In her heart, she carried many worries for not having Tianlan’s bargaining skills to help Miss Atira organize the team’s logistics, nor being like Luo Yu, who had been effective on Mr. Greyrock’s platform.

Though she enjoyed reading books and possessed some unconventional knowledge, it seemed as if these insights hadn’t been much help in their adventures, which made her anxious and doubt her ability to be a Chosen, or even to stay in the team.

Her understanding of the Magic Guided Book and being a Natural Historian had always come from books or the diverse opinions in the community, which made her increasingly worried about this.

Only at this moment did her heart gain a bit of confidence, and she clenched her fist gently—whatever the case, she was no longer the dead weight of the team.

After the spell dissipated, the previously existing aqua jungle vanished in an instant, and the workshop’s floor returned to its original state; the slate floor remained as flat and smooth as before.

It was as if nothing had happened just a moment ago.

Only the faint mist still settled and spread through the air.

Luoos, witnessing this scene, let out a sigh of relief, wiped the sweat from his brow, but also felt amazed by the magic of the previous moment, and couldn’t help but give Gita and the others a thumbs-up from a distance.

Then he turned back into his office.

It was at this moment that Elisa and the usually quiet Miss Fairy on her shoulder both turned their heads to look in one direction. There, Fang Hong and Sister Hilveld were pushing the door open to enter, talking and laughing as if they were discussing something.

Elisa, of course, knew what Fang Hong and Miss Ship’s Officer had gone out to do, and seeing the mood of the two, she was moved.

But before she could speak up, Tianlan had already asked: ”Captain, Sister Hilveld, is there any news?”

Her question drew everyone’s attention, and only then did others notice Fang Hong and Sister Hilveld, knowing that these two had specifically gone to verify a piece of information they had obtained earlier.

That message had been obtained inadvertently not long before while searching for the recipient of a letter in Bino District; someone had told them that there was a target at a bar called ’Hailan Melody’ who resembled the old man they were looking for, who would bring his dog there every Wednesday afternoon and sit for a couple of hours.

Since today was indeed Wednesday, Fang Hong and Sister Hilveld had gone to check if the information was accurate.

In the midst of Tianlan’s envious gaze, Miss Fairy flew up from Elisa’s shoulder and headed towards Fang Hong, landing gently in the palm of his hand. Fang Hong then lowered his head to greet Miss Tata—with whom he shared a moment of tranquility.

Although Miss Fairy usually didn’t leave his side, due to Gita’s recent transition to Natural Historian, Fang Hong specifically let Miss Fairy stay behind to assist her.

After all, in the team, no one knew the ancient knowledge better than Miss Fairy did.

However, Gita was too timid for Fang Hong’s peace of mind to protect Miss Tata well under Tianlan’s covetous eyes, so he entrusted her to Elisa to prevent Miss Fairy from falling into the latter’s clutches.

Tianlan evidently harbored a grudge about this decision, which is why she hadn’t called him Brother Ade lately.

However, after spending half a day with Miss Tata, Gita had come to respect this ’teacher’ immensely, and Fang Hong could see that his Miss Fairy also quite liked this inquisitive young girl.

After all, their attitudes towards knowledge were almost the same.

Looking up and facing everyone’s gaze, Fang Hong nodded his head: ”The message is true, but today we did not encounter the person.”

Sister Hilveld added for her captain: ”However, we’ve investigated and found the person’s address, it’s number 334 in Bino District. We’ve hired someone to deliver a letter and have scheduled an appointment—three days from now.”

”Really?” Tianlan moved her gaze reluctantly away from Miss Tata, ”Does that mean we can leave Golande in three days? That’s great, I’ve been here for a month, and I’m almost rusty!”

She said excitedly.

The group couldn’t help but smile indulgently since it had been Tianlan who had said before while on the Berio that she wanted to reach Golande as soon as possible to sleep cozily on a big bed in the inn and have a big meal.

And now, the same girl couldn’t wait to leave, completely forgetting what she had said before.

However, everyone was used to having such a lively and energetic young girl in the team, and no longer found it strange.
