Pillar of Yita

The little girl, fearing another outburst from Sicape, quickly answered, ”This is a record from over two weeks ago, showing that other members of the Morning Dawn Star came to apply for the team’s inheritance rights. Because... because the record indicates that the original owners of the team, you and Mr. Kroid, had both ’perished’ in Tarun, the highest authority of Morning Dawn Star naturally transferred to the other recorded members of the team who were still alive.”

In front of Sicape, she stuttered over the word ’perished’.

Fortunately, Sicape had no intention of making things difficult for the girl, and after thinking for a bit, she asked, ”Don’t rush, I’m not some spirit or ghost, I just want to ask who ended up inheriting Morning Dawn Star.”

”It is... yes, the record shows that someone named Vasily applied for the inheritance rights. The information indicates that this Mr. Siwali was one of your former team members.”

”It’s Vasily.” Fang Hong was somewhat surprised; although he had expected that some members of Morning Dawn Star would still be around, he hadn’t anticipated that one of the Iron Guards who had entered the relics with them would be the one to inherit Morning Dawn Star.

He still remembered the young man, an Invoker from Ukraine with pale gold curls and light grey eyes, who liked to joke around and was quite an outgoing youth. The last time he saw him was in the relics, before he and Sicape split up with the others.

Fang Hong didn’t expect that this young Iron Guard would still be alive.

As for Sicape, she naturally had deeper memories of her team members, and her eyes softened as she recalled the times of adventure together. ”If it’s Vasily, that kid, then it’s fate, Ade,” she responded, ”You never were a part of Morning Dawn Star, and you have your own path to walk from now on.”

Fang Hong fell silent for a while and let out a slight sigh, feeling a bit of regret.

But Sicape had a much more open-minded view, ”Don’t think too much about it, just remember those words you said to me.”

She was actually referring to the childish ideals Fang Hong had expressed to her.

But Fang Hong thought she meant the promises he had made.

Neither of them realized this slight misunderstanding, and after a moment of silence, Fang Hong nodded gently to the woman who was once his captain. He was committed to fulfilling what he had promised, for as long as he was here.

Then Sicape turned to the young girl and asked, ”So, did Vasily also take what was in the storage locker?”

The girl shook her head, ”Mr. Vasily only took the items in storage locker 037A, he didn’t touch the things you left in 039B.”

Fang Hong immediately understood, ”He intended to leave the items for someone else.”

However, Sicape shook her head, ”There’s no one else left, those who remain don’t even dare to face the name Morning Dawn Star. But to each their own, let them be. After all, that’s already a name of the past.”

She then looked at Fang Hong, ”Go and take the items from storage locker 039B, Ade.”

”Me?” Fang Hong was stunned, ”But I’m not really part of Morning Dawn Star.” He had intended to inherit the name Morning Dawn Star, so he could take the relics of Morning Dawn Star without any qualms. But now that Morning Dawn Star had a more suitable person to inherit it, it seemed somewhat inappropriate for him to take the relics.

Despite this, Sicape quietly looked at him and simply said, ”You know, since Vasily left these things, it means he won’t be coming back here.”

Fang Hong stared blankly for a moment, then nodded. He turned to the young girl and said, ”Please open storage locker 039B for me.” Indeed, only Vasily and he were entitled to inherit those items.

As for those who didn’t even dare mention the name Morning Dawn Star, if Miss Sicape didn’t care about them, he certainly wouldn’t either. Since they abandoned some things, they had given up everything.

The young girl, though somewhat baffled, complied. She took the key and the code and led them to the guild’s large hall in the back. Behind the hall was a huge warehouse with rows of sealed lockers. They arrived in front of locker number 039B, where the young girl opened the door in front of them and took out the contents.

The locker was large, but there wasn’t much inside.

First was an old-fashioned leather suitcase, tightly fastened with brass buckles. Under Sicape’s watchful gaze, Fang Hong opened the suitcase to reveal a pair of exquisite silver handguns lying quietly on the silk velvet lining, one to the left and one to the right.

Fang Hong was taken aback when he saw the gun lance, as it was a pair of ’Talia’ Dragon Strike Guns, Dwarf masterpieces. Among the many Dwarf creations, these were rare finely crafted items. While the guns appeared identical, their attributes were not the same.

The one on the left required Level 15, while the one on the right required only Level 14. The left had an additional attribute over the right: close-range shooting would not decrease Evasion Value or Accuracy.

This was undoubtedly a very practical attribute, especially for a Gunslinger, since their close-combat abilities are quite weak. In fact, aside from Musketeers and Dragon Cavalry, who can ’Advance,’ most Gunslingers don’t have much melee capability—and using firearms in close combat comes with significant penalties in reloading, accuracy, and evasion.

With this gun, self-defense capabilities would be greatly enhanced—
