Pillar of Yita

Both Dragon Strike Guns inflicted considerable damage, a clear advantage brought by their level, which was far beyond what his old-model Lion Handgun could offer. Plus, they couldn’t even compare in terms of reloading trouble.

The magazine held four rounds, with a reload time of just twenty seconds. They shared a unique feature: within a certain range, the left and right Dragon Strike Guns could sense each other’s location.

Miss Sicape glanced at the pair of handguns and spoke with a hint of nostalgia, ”This pair of Dragon Strike Guns is a spoils of war that Kroid and I obtained on one of our early adventures. We used them for a while, but decided to keep them as mementos after we leveled up—”

As for what the memento was for, she didn’t say, but continued, ”These handguns are only A+ quality, but their attributes are quite practical. I heard you’ve made a new girlfriend. I don’t have much to give her, so consider these Dragon Strike Guns as a gift from Kroid and me to you two.”

Fang Hong certainly knew who she was referring to and blushed as he glanced at Miss Hilveld, ”Mis… Miss Sicape...”

But Miss Hilveld smiled warmly, without refuting.

In the team, Tianlan was laughing so hard he almost broke, and Gita looked at her little companion and felt a bit down.

Miss Sicape rolled her eyes, uninterested in dealing with the timid one: ”Miss Hilveld, take the guns.”

Miss Hilveld nodded graciously, picking up the level 15 ’Talia’ Dragon Strike Gun. The silvery gun body was adorned with exquisite patterns that spread across it, clearly demonstrating the Dwarf’s master craftsmanship.

Of course, this gun couldn’t replace the Lion Handgun her father had left her in her heart. However, as a Gunslinger, she couldn’t hide her affection for it. She then squinted her eyes and handed the other one to Fang Hong.

Fang Hong, his face red, accepted the gun in a discombobulated state but didn’t refuse it.

Then Miss Hilveld turned to Miss Sicape to express her gratitude: ”Thank you, Miss Sicape. I like this gun very much.”

Miss Sicape nodded, obviously quite fond of Miss Hilveld’s character.

”Take good care of this boy for me. Although he’s a bit dense, he’s still a good person.”

”I will.”

”Don’t worry, this kid has feelings for you, he’s just a coward—,” Miss Sicape mocked mercilessly.

Miss Hilveld gave a slight smile.

Fang Hong pretended not to hear and took it in stride; he didn’t think of himself as dumb at all, maintaining a very good self-image.

It was then he noticed the second item, also placed inside a leather box. This one was much heavier, and it took quite an effort for the young girl to lift the box onto the table with a ’bang’.

Upon opening it, they discovered it was full of metal.

Silver, with ripples like water, creating dazzling patterns.

Such metal was obviously extraordinary, but Fang Hong recognized it immediately: Fairy Gold. Tata seemed to recognize it as well; she flew down and touched the metals with her finger, then nodded at her Knight.

Indeed, it was Fairy Gold.

It was one of the best conductors of Ether, aside from Blackwood.

Why were most airships in Eteliria made using Magic Blackwood and Black Oak? Because these two types of wood had better aptitude for Ether. Airship material needed to be not only light but also possess extremely high Magic Ether Aptitude.

Especially the Winged Boats without airbags, which require the body of the ship to be fully compatible with Ether Magic Power, or else they might capsize due to unbalanced lift. In this world, there are actually only two materials that have magical aptitude and are produced in large quantities: one is Magic Blackwood, the other is Black Oak.

That’s why most countries regard these two resources as strategic materials.

Although the Holy White Oak Trees of the Elves also have similar properties, these are the Holy Trees of Elves, responsible for nurturing Elf life. Using these trees for making airships would provoke both the Aquen Elves and the Forest Elves to fight to the death with you.

Moreover, the truly magical Holy White Oaks can only be found in the Holy Tree Forest of Giant Tree Hill.

Besides these tree species, some metals also possess magic aptitude; foremost among them are Mithril and Star Gold, but these metals are so rare they’re almost unseen.

The other type would be Fairy Gold, which is actually a collective term for all metals with Fairy attributes. Metals with Fairy attributes are those that, according to legend, were crafted by the Ancient Fairies.

And in those legends, more famous than these metals were the few Dragon Slaying Holy Swords forged from them.

Although Fairy Gold is rare, it is at least a bit more common than Mithril and Star Gold. One might occasionally see it in the world. But a whole box of Fairy Gold was staggering, and if auctioned, it could fetch a value of several million at least.

Fang Hong once thought that Morning Dawn Star was quite poor, but he did not expect that Sicape and Kroid had such valuable treasures stashed away privately.

”This is Violet Gold,” Tata observed closely and further explained, ”forged about five to six centuries ago. Judging from the marks left on it, the Fairy Clan that forged it should still exist in the world today.”

”You can discern all that?” Fang Hong was somewhat surprised.

Tata replied, ”The information embedded in Magic marks is much richer than the engravings left by mortal craftsmen; it can represent the past, as well as the present and the future.”
