Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong’s mind raced. In fact, over the past few days, he had been pondering the issue of the three trainees’ belonging, but he also had to consider whether he was already qualified to negotiate with Tabopolis.

And if Tabopolis did not accept his proposal, what should Luo Yu and Gita, caught between both sides, do?

He had not brought up this matter, partly because he could not contact Red Leaf, and partly for this reason. After all, it was not just about him or their small team; it also involved the futures of Luo Yu and Gita.

If Tabopolis disagreed, how should he secure the identities of two Chosens for Luo Yu and Gita? He was an undocumented person himself; was he supposed to smuggle again? Not to mention that the military was not foolish, and Gita and Luo Yu might not be willing.

He hoped to be more secure, but fate was not on his side, meeting Gita’s brother here, who did not leave him any room to maneuver.

Facing Zi Feiyu’s questions, Fang Hong almost had a moment when a denial crossed his mind, but seeing the hopeful expressions of Luo Yu and Gita beside him, he realized he actually had no second answer.

Thus, he faced the other’s cold gaze and nodded earnestly.

”Yes.”

Zi Feiyu was slightly taken aback but quickly recovered.

He was silent for a moment, looked at Luo Yu, then turned back and asked, ”The Combat Artisan skills of Luo Yu, did you teach him, and do you plan to make him a Combat Artisan?”

Fang Hong was startled, not expecting such a question—but he also looked at Luo Yu and shook his head. Luo Yu’s talent in the path of Combat Artisan was not very high. Tabopolis’s assessment of him was very precise, his calculation and analysis ability had proven his exceptional talent as an Elementalist.

But everyone has dreams, and that was precisely why he taught Luo Yu Combat Artisan skills. Perhaps, in the future, the young man would ultimately embark on the path of an Elementalist, but at least during his trainee phase, he had the opportunity to chase his dreams.

Fang Hong thought for a moment before answering, ”The direction more suited for Luo Yu is still that of an Elementalist. Everyone must be responsible for their own future and distinguish between dreams and capriciousness—perhaps in the future, there will be an opportunity to walk the path between a Combat Artisan and an Elementalist, but at least as a captain, I would recommend he first become an Elementalist.”

This answer was somewhat unexpected to Zi Feiyu.

He thought for a moment, ”Then have you considered that this would make Luo Yu lose the original purpose of staying in your team? If he cannot become a Combat Artisan, why would he stay in a small Adventure Group?”

Fang Hong did not answer and looked at Luo Yu, but the latter also did not respond, only looking back at him.

Fang Hong shook his head, ”You got one thing wrong, that isn’t why our small Adventure Group was established—I still remember what Miss Red Leaf said, Tabopolis is the guild of Free Summoners; like a member of Tabopolis, Mister Zi Feiyu must understand this point.”

”That is the original purpose of the Free Summoners—”

”We came here simply because of our dreams and aspirations for adventure and exploration in our hearts. Perhaps behind this Stargate, it’s no longer so innocent, but there are still some people willing to stay true to their hearts.”

”Choosing Luo Yu and Gita as companions was not because of any other factors, just because they were willing to stay, to complete this journey, though not very long, with others.”

”If not so, the choice would be meaningless—”

The young Magic Guided Conductor’s silvery gaze flickered with surprise as he eyed the young man.

This was his second meeting with Fang Hong, not too far from the first time at Angina Temple, when the latter had left a certain impression on him—reactions and control over constructs, as a Combat Artisan were noteworthy.

He had earlier heard about this person from Red Leaf and his own sister, as well as some details from Dolifen’s journey, but only now did these different impressions converge in his mind into a rough outline.

A reasonably competent guy.

Though not quite reliable—

But as a member of Tabopolis, he naturally understood the implications of Fang Hong’s words. At the beginning of the Stargate Era, being a Free Summoner once held a meaning very different from today, a tale of the brave.

The legends of past called today’s people here, many youths like them with the same dreams as before, except that some had gradually lost their original intentions, while others still stubbornly proceeded.

Nowadays, those who proceed stubbornly are becoming fewer.

And possibly not reliable.

But at least loyal to their ideals.

Such people, perhaps naive, but mostly not too bad.

So, Zi Feiyu, upon hearing this, nodded slightly and said no more.

Fang Hong was somewhat surprised as he had initially thought Zi Feiyu came to condemn him on behalf of Tabopolis.

But unexpectedly, after a pause, the other only replied, ”This matter isn’t really my responsibility, I was just reminding you. Concerning Gita and Luo Yu, the Guild has already decided, and naturally, someone will come to discuss it with you.”

Someone will naturally come to discuss it with him?

Fang Hong was momentarily stunned. What decision had the Tabopolis Oak Knights made? Who would they send to discuss with him, and about what? Though it was just a short sentence, he heard much more between the lines.
