Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1696: Chapter 273: Snow Old Dog with Glasses

’Snow Cloud Peak’ tilted his head and pondered for a while, confirming that Ros’s level of cooperation was quite high. Although she still hid a little something, she explained everything related to Aesces clearly.

The rest of it, he could deduce from various aspects, mainly due to the mutated silk spider.

Ros’s long nails, which always flashed with black light, obviously concealed something troublesome.

But it doesn’t affect the undead tribe’s mission.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ had no interest in helping the elves solve their troubles... Moreover, he clearly saw everything with his eyes, and even Coron himself didn’t comment!

Ros did not fully conceal anything.

The elf deity system and the dark elf deity system are too complex internally, and they as outsiders should best not meddle.

For Coron, even if he summoned the undead tribe to Toril, the aim wasn’t to save the Toril elves... For the Father of Elves, the elves’ belief is indeed free, as long as it stems from his own will, it doesn’t matter who they believe in.

But such elves should not expect that when they encounter danger, suddenly calling out to Coron for help would get an immediate response.

Just like those elf nobility on Eternity Island in the past, as well as the Moonflower Royalty who were influenced by those nobles.

The team composed of Coron followers from the Supreme Forest could, at each new moon ritual, receive a generous response from the Father of Elves, and could resist the demon army that once swept the Supreme Forest with so few numbers because Coron’s eyes never left them.

But the Moonflower Royalty...most of their faith has wavered, and even if the royal family members, because they carry Coron’s blood, can enter the elf deity system’s region after death, it wouldn’t be Coron’s divine kingdom.

The children whom Coron always watches would not live as miserably as the Moonflower Royalty.

The reason he later turned his gaze back to the Moonflower Royalty was due to those children of the Queen of Sorrow who devoutly believed in him and were willing to fight for the elves, especially the two princesses who heroically sacrificed themselves to prevent the monsters that could harm even the elf deities from passing through the dimensional gate between Eternity Island and the elf deity system.

But on the other hand, clearly, there were tens of millions of elves below, yet only the children of the Queen of Sorrow fought desperately for the elf deity system.

Every thunder on Eternity Island was laid by themselves.

Since then, the once frequent incarnations of elf deities strolling through the Rose Garden have turned it into a wasteland.

Thus the Sun Elves wisely followed the influence-diminished Little Prince to leave Eternity Island...These elves, who have lived for tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of years, know most clearly where the last path for Toril elves lies.

They no longer have the chance to become the World Masters again, and being able to secure a place under the protection of the Father of Elves in that world is already quite good.

The sea was indeed always the strongest for the elves...but even the Anmur Navy, which was easily eradicated by the undead tribe in those years, dared to wrestle with the elf fleet.

Now, they are merely not losing, rather than being invincible as they once were.

The once-proud large magic warships have gradually lost significance due to a lack of power...The former Toril elves could obtain endless energy resources through those dimensional gates connecting various planes, but now, without the help of the gods and having lost those accessible passages near Supreme Forest, they can only watch helplessly as one by one energy-depleted warships turn into transport ships.

Coron never resented the arrogance and pride of these elves, but he never looked back.

But Ros very much liked these fellows... of course, to torment them well.

Sometimes her actions even made people feel as though she hated those elves more, although this might be because she couldn’t hurt Coron easily, even needing to cooperate with other evil gods to handle even the demigods of the elf deity system...and that demigod only temporarily withdrew, returning later changed from good to neutral.

Many god systems’ deities secretly suspect that Coron’s tolerance of Ros is because he knows very well her methods and can easily find ways to counteract...the elves did suffer heavy losses, but the truly important elf deity system rarely encountered significant issues.

After all, those who want to deal with the elf deity system will almost always go cooperate with Ros, and he only needs to keep one eye on Ros permanently.

As for Gruumsh, God of Orcs...relying on him to deal with the elves is no different from suicide?

Gruumsh has always been greedy, and the result of approaching him will definitely not turn into an ally, but rather end up as his meal.

Although the Crown War was indeed stirred up single-handedly by Ros, and the subsequent outcome was the fate she deserved.

But as one who likes to shift blame and never blames herself, Ros seemed to blame everything on the elves who, in the end, turned her and her Zholar in and sold them out.

Thus, the Spider Queen has never given up on hunting any elves...especially those who left Toril after the Crown Wars.

Her reaction to the Mithril Elves is only slightly less.

Because this elf tribe, upon discovering that different factions among the elves emerged and even began pulling them to take sides, chose to migrate directly, preferring never-ending harassment from evil creatures than being dragged into an internal elven war.

Ros despises the Sun Elves, Moon Elves, and Wood Elves the most.

Wherever these elves exist, there will be her old lady’s spider web.

----------------------------------

Ros certainly understood, which is why she behaved so politely towards the undead tribe.

Sitting in the small hut, she pondered over her gains and losses in this world repeatedly.

Even though there is Coron’s presence behind the undead tribe, Ros has always been very aware that the undead tribe can only be considered the Father of Elves’ mercenaries and won’t affect her plans if they don’t encounter them.

Of course, what is somewhat distressing for Ros at the moment is the Teraxil Elven Divine King against whom she put in all her effort.

She found it difficult to ensure she wouldn’t accidentally harm humans... Why does something like a Child of Nature even exist?

In the Teraxil Elven Forest, her crude schemes were hidden well, yet the intricately planned plots were inexplicably exposed as soon as they involved humans.

Aesces clearly wasn’t one to meddle in others’ affairs, so why did he jump out so proactively that day?

That Hill of Teraxil.

Rose got a headache just thinking about him. If it harmed elves, he wouldn’t even notice.

But when certain things happened, he was almost instantly aware... like the mutated silk spider that began expanding outward.

Rose herself only recently discovered that these mutated silk spiders had already infiltrated most corners of the Forest of the Elves, even slowly blending into the Elven Fruit Wine most favored by humans.

Of course, even if she had discovered it earlier, she wouldn’t have done anything... What if she had the power to drag this world of the Earth Deity into the Bottomless Abyss?

Whether it’s Hell or the Abyss, they both love such worlds... but such worlds are sorely lacking.

Only with the Earth Attribute can the true depth of the Bottomless Abyss be amplified.

And the worlds that we Abyssal Lords bring in only increase the breadth of a certain level of the Abyssal Plane.

To put it simply, the random Dimensional Gates scattered across the Bottomless Abyss would turn into fixed Dimensional Gates if a world of the Earth Deity System is added.

Even harsh complex environments could turn into fertile soil.

Demons aren’t incapable of enjoyment; who is naturally fond of harsh conditions?

Then why do we Abyssal Lords have to fight severely over certain planes!

Life matters, and blood isn’t meant to flow without reason; we fight only when there is something worth seeking.

Yet, such worlds are the hardest to obtain.

Even the Abyssal Will, which eagerly desires them, hasn’t captured many. While Rose harbors a faint, illusory desire, she isn’t obsessed with acquiring them.

If these Abyssal Lords didn’t learn to give up when necessary, they would have long been sacrificed to the Abyssal Will for the benefit of others.

Moreover... that Hill.

Rose gently furrowed her brow, then slowly relaxed... Forget it, better observe for a while longer!

She silently flipped her fingers, gazing at her translucent black nails with a slight smile... As for this world, what she wanted was nearly in her grasp.

That Undead named ’Mobi Chenxin’ had already told her what she wanted to know: concerning destiny, especially destiny related to Tai Ji, Rose certainly didn’t plan to interfere.

Unless one day she felt capable of defeating AO, Rose wouldn’t take that risk.

But that Hermes.

Rose glanced coldly at the sky: If Hermes didn’t plan to enter Toril, even if his divinity of lies and deception interested Shaer, the Lady of the Night likely wouldn’t actively seek him out.

However, if Rose wanted to make a move, Shaer would definitely cause trouble.

Nonetheless, Rose tilted her head... still feeling something was amiss.

The Undead Tribe had recounted the tale of Medusa to her, but such overt darkness and chaotic aura hardly seemed obtainable by a creature not even considered a Demigod!

Yet ’Mobi Chenxin’ was evidently unaware.

She pursed her lips, suddenly realizing something... The chieftain of the Black and White Path indeed told her everything he knew, but the true commander of the Undead Tribe did not.

That person was the one who truly knew everything.

Damn, is he waiting for her to provide equivalent information?

-----------------

”Can Rose guess what you want?” ’Lu Huayu’ asked earnestly.

”Don’t underestimate the mind of the Spider Queen,” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ said, browsing a tablet with a pair of imitation glasses perched on his nose.

”By the way, I’ve always wanted to ask, are you getting farsighted?” ’Lu Huayu’ asked coldly, ”If you want to retire, just say so. No need to hint so subtly.”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ looked up at him from beneath the glasses: ”Though your words are irritating, I won’t hold it against you.

I wear these glasses to give myself a mental cue.

Ha~ With the glasses on, I can blame no one.”
