Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1672: Chapter 250: There’s Always a Fool Who Thinks They’re Special

Although he still didn’t understand what exactly excited the Undead Tribe allies, Lucimar quickly got into work mode.

After all, since this oasis belonged to an area where nobles and normal caravans rarely entered, the attributes of those who chose to stay here were self-evident.

The Undead Tribe did not intend to annihilate them completely... They have always given people a choice.

For example, if you don’t want to die, you must leave this oasis within 6 hours.

They won’t pursue those who choose to flee... Of course, this is the only time they will choose to let it go.

If they see them intercept caravans and passersby in the desert in the future, they will still take action.

As the lord of Danboro’s side, Lucimar was responsible for conveying messages for the Undead Tribe.

Of course, if you feel that you have no sins, or simply were forced into the thieves’ circle and did not participate in murder and plunder, you can stay in the oasis and become a normal resident.

Although the words were vague, everyone understood clearly what method the Undead Tribe would use to judge whether someone could stay.

The simplest and most direct method in the fantasy world is of course well-known to everyone: Under the Detect Alignment spell, creatures that don’t glow red can temporarily stay.

The Undead Tribe and the new lord can guarantee that as long as those above neutral follow the future laws and regulations, they won’t be held accountable for past matters, and won’t deal with their own followers due to some bizarre demands from nobles... This point was proposed by Lucimar. He understood well that if there truly were people in this oasis who were not sinners, they must have been forced out by some crooked lords.

And if they can maintain their innocence amidst a heap of evildoers, they naturally have some strength.

The Evil Faction always respects strength and interests; nothing else matters.

But for him, it was quite fitting: Although most of these people’s personalities would be somewhat twisted due to past experiences, they could get things done.

Moreover, they wouldn’t oppose the Undead Tribe due to some inexplicable pride. As long as they could live a normal life, and perhaps even more peacefully and quietly than in the mainland, they would be very willing to stay here and work diligently.

Working for the lord wasn’t without pay, and they could even buy advancement potions in the Undead Tribe’s shops... Professionals who fled to such a place usually had already abandoned their future.

Lucimar was pondering how to use those strong individuals who dared to stay in this oasis after thousands of mid-level professionals appeared, while maintaining a facade of high spirits, holding a luxurious and exquisite magic wand, and using an amplifying spell to spread his voice throughout the oasis.

”Mobi Chenxin” did not intend to wait until the end of the 6 hours before taking action. He had already started ordering his family members to surround the oasis from all directions, except for a small road at the end, with teams set up earlier in the morning.

To reassure those who wanted to escape, he also had Earth Mages raise two three-meter-high, wide walls directly on that small road... although this instead gave those reactionarily slow and hesitant thieves quite a scare.

But thieves’ guilds always have those newly joined thieves specialized in springing such traps... At this moment, it all depended on whether these newcomers were forced or willing.

If it was the kind of semi-slave caught and brought here, they only had to squat at the front of the small town, and no one would dare come over to issue orders to them... Of course, there were still fools: like a certain level 11 bandit leader who believed he could stand against the Danboro military.

The bandits who could come to this oasis certainly had neither backing nor strong individuals, so naturally, they all flattered this only strong person.

Therefore, the big man praised by his lackeys could still calmly watch when the Undead Tribe appeared... He wasn’t stupid enough to think he could rampage under the attack of thousands... But when certain rescued female slaves rushed to the front of the small town, attempting to enter the Undead Tribe’s control area, he thought he could still struggle:

After all, even the Danboro military would generally avoid direct conflict with these capable high-level professionals.

He believed he just wanted his slaves back, and these people shouldn’t find it necessary to fight him to the death.

And then, there was no more.

The desert thieves finally discovered their biggest blind spot.

Unlike waiting for suitable enemies at the rear like the Danboro Mages, the Undead Tribe’s mages were very proactive.

The leader only shouted once: ”Who dares to take my people!” and was immediately overwhelmed by spells flashing with various colors of light.

The final result can only be described as not leaving a single bone.

So, in this departing band of thieves, there were no innocents or those forced.

Although some were always unwilling to give up, when he tried to forcibly drag people away, the sharp arrow landing at his feet and the exclamation of ”Damn, missed!” instantly turned the scene peaceful.

Come or go as you wish.

Of course, not everyone was without benefits.

Some bandit groups that originally wanted to split up, this time, managed a rare peaceful separation... As soon as they walked out of that long alley, they scattered in all directions at the fastest speed, and even some former leaders, upon seeing those individuals’ sudden change in direction, did not utter a single angry shout.

Escaping for one’s life is still the most important thing.

After all, the mage standing on top of the carriage said directly that in 6 hours, the Undead Tribe would first clear the oasis.

After the clearing of the oasis is complete, naturally, they would tidy up the vicinity of the oasis a bit cleaner.

Generally speaking, the occupiers of the oasis would clear out enemies within a ten-kilometer radius... but we are talking about tens of thousands of Professionals here!

In the desert, if anyone has tens of thousands of regular people trained as soldiers, they could damn well establish their own kingdom!

The thieves madly fled in despair, just hoping to reach the next oasis before running out of food and drink, or dying of thirst and hunger, regardless of its size, survival is all that mattered!

Those old thieves who had roamed the desert for over ten years were quite popular at this moment... at least they could always find those little-known small oases hidden in remote corners, right?

”Although these thieves, even if they find an oasis with which they have some connection, can’t cause much damage,” Lucimar gently explained to the restlessly looking ’Mobi Chenxin’ as he watched the backs of the group of evil people walking away, ”they will spread news of our existence throughout the entire desert.”

Can the hundred or so people around Luceilla really be so loyal that they can endure any agony and torment?

They all used to live upstanding lives in the Royal Capital, even the servants, living without worry about food and clothing, drinking clean spring water, and the worst food was white bread.

If, at the beginning, these people indeed followed her into the desert out of pure loyalty, having already tasted the bitterness of sand and experienced days of not eating or sleeping well, someone will eventually regret it.

As for spirit control, this skill has its limits; it can’t be used on someone stronger than oneself, and there is also a limit to the number of people it can affect.

She can’t use it on everyone.”

’Mobi Chenxin’ could certainly understand this, but as he looked at the large number of red light bulbs moving away, he still felt somewhat regretful.

For the Undead Tribe, there are too few NPC enemies they can kill at will.

So few that even those of them who prefer PVP feel their hands itching when they see those red eggs.

”Really a pity, not many people think their hidden abilities are strong enough.” Finally, he could only shake his head regretfully, his eyes lightly swept over the faint red lights emanating from underground.

Truly foolish to an incredible degree.

Even without the Aesces-gifted Eye of the Earth buff, with so many Earth Mages, they should be able to find secret chambers ten meters underground!

If it’s not 100 meters deep, what’s the point of playing underground battles?

As for whether the desert terrain can have secret chambers 100 meters deep... Mobi naturally didn’t care, as long as they could dig it.

It’s just asking Earth Mages to change the soil composition!

He took out some house design plans he’d prepared beforehand and showed them to Lucimar: ”The protection of this oasis is quite good, there are also some small shrubs outside, it’s best to preserve them all.

We plan to build these kinds of houses for the local people, also making use of the underground.”

Lucimar leaned in for a look; it was an oval, three-story-high ring-shaped building, with a plaza and simple greenery in the middle for people to socialize and move around. The brick walls of the circular building were thick and smooth, especially the outer wall, which was coated in a golden-yellow sandstorm-resistant paint.

Internally, it was divided into houses of varying sizes, sufficient to house upwards of a thousand people living in this oval.

As for the underground, it was a larger plaza intended as a store or task release area, and it linked to another underground tunnel belonging to the Undead Tribe’s Dual Ring Plaza.

The Undead Tribe’s Dual Ring Plaza, on one side was their ’Resurrection’ point, and on the other, a closed Dimensional Gate leading to the Desert Kingdom.

However, the internal structure of the ring-shaped building had no partitions, and the three floors seemed to be marked with the names of three families... it seems they plan to form their own territory.

Lucimar couldn’t help but laugh: ”I thought you’d prefer those golden small buildings scattered next to each green tree.”

’Mobi Chenxin’ smirked: ”I do prefer those, but they require larger space, unsuitable for well-vegetated oases.

There is a family within our Undead Tribe that is very skilled in construction; they specifically emphasized that the houses must be built based on the oasis, without altering its form for the sake of construction.

This is the most suitable here.”

Lucimar’s heart relaxed... Regardless of how proud and confident ’Mobi Chenxin’ appeared, even somewhat indulgent, he could understand human language and was willing to choose a lesser living environment to avoid harming others... even a natural environment, this was enough.

He smiled and nodded: ”Then do it according to your idea, I have no objections to this.”
