Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1692: Chapter 269: The Power of Destiny Emerging

’Snow Cloud Peak’ is truly surprised.

Of course, the fact that Aesces wasn’t fooled is something he was about eighty to ninety percent sure of, especially since there’s also a clever Little Bear up there.

He was annoyed by Aesces’ antics recently, so he decided to trick him... If Aesces is foolish enough to act without thinking it through or consulting Little Bear, then he deserves to be heavily beaten by Triton.

Triton and his mother, being among the few who still have a conscience in Poseidon’s lineage, have always been reluctant to face these women who have lost everything due to his shameless father’s schemes.

Although Athena turned the maid, who was raped by Poseidon, into a terrifying monster... it was only this way that she could provide the maid an opportunity for revenge without tarnishing her own reputation.

To be honest, Athena was able to suppress her rage at the time and didn’t really go to her temple to split Poseidon’s head with an axe because Zeus was always lurking behind her.

Fighting against two powerful deities simultaneously was beyond her capabilities, no matter how strong her combat power was.

Besides her compassion, Athena devoted herself to spreading her faith among mortals primarily because her existence was quite difficult.

Luckily, she is a goddess; if a male god had her divinity and power, Zeus would have risked serious injury, offended all his children with the same mother, just to kill her.

This Athena, using such a method to counter Poseidon, is understandable.

But does that mean the maid was doomed to be less than human?

However, a girl chosen as a temple maid by Athena, ensuring her purity with beauty and intelligence, surely realized that her goddess had chosen the only path for her... even if she wasn’t willing to lose her chastity, the consistent style of the God System would have led to her execution.

Athena’s actions, although seemingly excessive in anger, indeed provided this unlucky girl a chance to live... After being punished by deities, the leaders of city states serving Athena no longer dared to harm her.

Maintaining the rules she always upheld, while offering an innocent suffering maid the chance of survival and revenge, Athena deserves her title as the Goddess of Wisdom, making the decision almost instantly.

The maid’s resentment naturally turned towards Poseidon.

From that point on, Medusa became the greatest enemy of the Poseidon Pantheon... Though Triton and his mother tried to avoid conflict with Medusa, as Poseidon’s heir with the divinity of a messenger, Triton suffered numerous encounters with snake bites and sudden petrifications.

He certainly wasn’t truly injured, as the difference in divine power was evident, but they still had subordinates!

The casualties were really severe; only with Poseidon’s subordinates in comparison did it appear less significant.

Thus, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ knew that encountering Medusa would certainly trigger some stress response in Triton~

If Aesces really threw that dagger into the temple of the Eye of the Sea God, he might witness an excellent show... the beautiful mermaid fiercely whipping the glittering Light Ord with her tail.

The possibility was extremely slim, as the bet was on Aesces continuing to be foolish... For Snow Old Dog, after being patiently guided for such a long time, if Aesces still remained beyond repair, his only solace would be a merciless beating.

He couldn’t do it, but someone else surely could.

So, faced with the current outcome, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was still satisfied.

He did believe that the dagger belonged to Medusa.

No matter who crafted the dagger, it certainly wasn’t Triton.

Then what allies does the Poseidon Pantheon have?

The Greek Gods were all offended by that idiot Poseidon!

Think about it, when they moved house, they did so in such a grand way, even Lord Hades in the depths knew about it, even Prometheus joined in the move... Poseidon remained clueless amidst it, clearly showing how annoying he was.

To cause trouble for Triton, the simplest method is to throw an item infused with Medusa’s divinity.

Regardless of who ultimately possesses the item, it will inevitably position them against the Poseidon Pantheon until the end.

But the message ’Lu Huayu’ received from Ambori shocked him.

How should he say it... if this infamous master of scheming, Hermes, intervened, things would be completely different!

Although his methods were deemed trickery, when used against enemies, it becomes a strategy to a certain extent.

If it were others, they might not pay attention upon hearing of Hermes’ appearance, after all, it’s just an incidental meeting of two wandering deities.

But for the Undead Tribe, any name appearing in the plot could have a connection to it!

Otherwise, why would the background surface and drag this guy out for no reason?

So, when notified by Aesces... Triton stated it’s not solely Medusa, as evident even in her snakes, there is her divinity, but not entirely.

There is a smell of looms, faint though it may be, he wouldn’t mistake it.

Triton didn’t make it clear, so Aesces could only run to ask ’Snow Cloud Peak’ if they knew what the loom referred to.

’The threads of fate used by the three Greek Goddesses of Fate to weave the tapestry of destiny, akin to the Destiny Crystal made from the river’s flow of your destiny.’

Although ’Snow Cloud Peak’ spoke in a tongue-twisting manner, Aesces still found this sentence quite easy to understand.

For these World Masters, time and destiny are always the factors they care most about... anything not under their control must be eradicated.

What Aesces couldn’t understand is... ’The Greek Gods have already lost their foundation, the Artifact of Law for weaving the threads of fate must have already been destroyed.

It’s possible that some fragments remain, but to affect the fate of other worlds, absolutely impossible.’

The power of this dagger is not strong, but it has clearly transformed Aesces’s existing destiny... because it’s not calculated within the river of destiny, it may have caused the severe injuries to Lind and his mother.

If Helena’s body wasn’t so severely injured, Lind, and even Ellie would be controlled more strictly... Ellie’s character clearly differs greatly from what destiny had calculated.

At least, in that destiny, even if she took a liking to a foreign strong person, she might have chosen to marry a prince of her own country, and her temperament wouldn’t be so extreme and independent.

A girl raised by a butler definitely has a weaker sense of responsibility to her family than one raised by her mother’s teachings.

Although the harm caused seemed minor at the time, it subtly steered things in another direction... Such a natural transformation wouldn’t even attract the attention of the deities involved, including those who are secretly lurking.

However, the final result did indeed change.

Damn it... is this a loop?

Aesces, this kind of guy, probably didn’t even know what was happening when he was forced to reboot the world and had to accept certain rules being invaded!

But if it weren’t for Hill’s arrival, which then attracted the Undead Tribe... the one benefitting in the end probably wouldn’t have been Gaia herself.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ sighed, relaying the news that Ambori got from the great Light Orb and the existence of Hermes to him... Damn~ ’Lu Huayu’ and Ambori didn’t block the attention of the gods when discussing this matter!

Was Aesces too busy chatting with Triton to listen carefully to such an important thing?

Really... wait~

He still has some hope!

Whenever ’Snow Cloud Peak’ reaches this point, they open a tablet to view in the desert, braving the elements, suffering from the ravages of the Undead Tribe, and trying hard to calm the residents of the Oasis, so they won’t be frightened into fleeing by the Undead Tribe’s frenzied self-sacrifice... by Lucimar.

The thought that someone could be worse off in the future comforted Snow Old Dog greatly... and then they just casually informed ’Mobi Chenxin’, advising Lucimar to broaden his horizons and expand his mindset; the current state just isn’t enough!

Lucimar really needs more practice.

Lest he gets angry to death before the job is done for a hundred years.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ didn’t doubt what Triton said.

In Greek Mythology, this Sea Messenger indeed once suspected, owing to his unfortunate mother and unpredictable fate, whether he was being manipulated by the three Goddesses of Fate, risking great dangers... like potentially being kicked off by Hades or something... to approach the spinning wheel.

Although he returned disappointed at that time, he would have certainly remembered the unique scent of the Wheel of Fate.

Then ’Snow Cloud Peak’ contacted ’Lu Huayu’, asking him to inquire from Ambori... Didn’t she mention that Hermes had been to Toril?

Did Ambori know who Hermes was looking for?

Although Shaer might also know, it’s best not to bother another person with one task, especially when it’s a Goddess for whom Ambori has some hostility.

”Hmm?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ tilted his head at the tablet with a confused face: What is Ambori saying?

Why ask him to inquire of Lansendel?

Then he vaguely recalled something: The reason Lansendel caused the Dawn Calamity was to resurrect his lover, the Toril Goddesses of Fate, Tai Ji.

When she was around, she was indeed a very powerful presence... If Hermes took that spinning wheel fragment to ask her to look at the past and future, and inquire about the chances of his Greek Pantheon reviving, it would also make sense.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ couldn’t help but warmly greet Aesces: ”If this matter really has Tai Ji’s involvement, then you’re actually quite lucky!”

Aesces was quite puzzled: ”She got tricked by AO so easily! Is she really that strong?”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ rolled his eyes: ”That’s a woman who can have a relationship with Lansendel, do you think she’s not strong?”
