Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1670: Chapter 248: Every Step a Person Takes Is Their Life

’Lucy’ didn’t say anything more.

She just habitually provoked, not really intending to take action against the Undead Tribe.

How should I put it... even though she had considerable dealings with the Undead Tribe, Rose didn’t think she had the ability to handle those whose souls couldn’t be grasped.

Without seeing their souls clearly, it was naturally difficult to discern their true desires.

In such circumstances, making a move to test them would surely lead to trouble.

And the Undead Tribe has always been a strange existence that, once informed, would immediately spread the news throughout their entire race... The infuriating thing is that they don’t distinguish between friend and foe. Why do even their enemies have to know when an NPC sneaks them benefits?!

Rose couldn’t figure this out, so she wouldn’t do anything for the time being.

Although she seemed to meddle everywhere, at the very least, those places and the creatures in them had given her opportunities.

The most important thing is that it’s difficult for her to sever the connection between the bodies of the Undead Tribe and the deities observing them from the controllers... Doesn’t that mean every action she takes and every word she says will be personally seen by Corlon?

Though Rose didn’t care about many things... not about that fool seeing her ugliness and debauchery, she did mind that guy seeing her stupidity.

Besides, Corlon would definitely share it with the elves.

Failure was inevitable, but she would never offer herself up to be laughed at... Rose certainly didn’t want her devious and cunning divinity to be lost due to a moment’s recklessness.

Huh~ The elves’ hatred and fear are also the source of her Divine Power!

Even if she fails, it would be after she’s created enough lethality to make those elves weep bitterly... Even if encountering a major defeat on the Path of Destiny, suffering heavy losses, Rose wouldn’t care.

That was a joint attack by Celene and Shaer! Even Corlon didn’t have the ability to fight against two Primordial Goddesses in Toril.

Anyway, although she hadn’t been able to completely consume Villon and Elisui, she did reclaim a significant amount of Zholar faith due to the brother and sister’s unknown length of convalescence.

Heh~

In the Underdark, it’s not easy for the Zholar to survive without the assistance of the Dark Divine System... The elves who offended those who believe in Rose might not be able to tell whether the Zholar in front of them believes in Elisui or not, let alone Villon.

Their male followers, after all, are still evil, aren’t they?

Being an evil race, isn’t it only natural to abandon a deity that cannot protect them?

Abandoning slowly only shows their fear of the former Main God.

Is there an evil deity that relies on character to attract believers?

Rose had never heard of such a joke.

Wait... Is that God of Nobility in Teraxil still evil now?

Rose, sitting at the center of the spider web, suddenly opened her eyes, and amidst the crisscrossed and densely packed transparent threads emanating a dark glow beneath the throne, found the one leading to Teraxil, focusing her mind on it.

”Ah~ damned!” She instantly let the thread go, shaking her head forcefully, with her eyes glowing red.

”Has he actually managed to control the entire world so quickly?” Rose was a bit surprised. ”Even as the most favored child of the World Tree, this growth in strength is a bit too fast!

That universe wasn’t created by the World Tree itself... he merely found it first!

Could it be... that the past disaster has instead caused that newborn world to fully merge into the entire universe?

How is that possible?

It’s not that easy!

Even AO hasn’t achieved it!”

Rose couldn’t comprehend, but she understood that to do anything in Teraxil in the future would require more effort than dealing with that Aesces.

If it weren’t for having believers among the elves, she wouldn’t even have the possibility of entering.

Yet at this moment, Rose developed an infinite interest in Teraxil.

If... deities like them from outside truly have a chance to fully integrate with a universe following a cataclysm and rebirth, then why is she struggling so desperately in the Abyss?

Rose’s long, thick black eyelashes gently fluttered, and she had to first determine whether it could only be done by the Earth Deity System.

Right... Does that shattered, crazed Greek Goddess also have remnants of an earth-related divinity?

She certainly couldn’t touch the complete one, but for such unknown, tiny fragments of divinity... she still had a little hope of touching them.

Rose lightly raised her right hand.

In the rapidly spreading black light, her slender and strong fingers transformed into fangs, and a drop of transparent water lightly flicked onto a certain spider web line, silently blending into it.

Rose quietly sat back in her throne, waiting for the incarnation to bring back news once more... Unfortunately, no matter how wasteful the Earth Deity System is, they can strictly control their world, and that’s all she could do.

She silently turned her head to look in the direction of Toril: amidst that merciless, endless shadow, it seemed as if someone glanced at her.

Rose, of course, knew who that was.

But Aesces is not Toril, the number of Undead Tribe members isn’t enough to make her shy away... Aesces only blocked the Forest of the Elves, it didn’t completely destroy it.

Unlike those spider elves of Teraxil.

The half-elf silk spiders in Aesces evolved from a coexistence of two species to a symbiotic form over time.

Without the acknowledgment of the World Rules, how could they have evolved?

And the World Master of the Earth Deity System typically wouldn’t treat creatures acknowledged by their laws as trash... As long as they don’t harm the world itself, they wouldn’t be cleaned up before the creatures commit atrocious crimes.

If there’s a full-scale attack, Rose is confident she can still fight against the Undead Tribe... Moreover, even though she promised the World Master not to cooperate with the Moon Clan and Triton, and vowed to Lady of Pain not to help Aesces, just not dealing directly, only utilizing them, no one can accuse her of breaking the rules.

Heh~ isn’t it just doing what’s unsaid?

This time, against Shaer in the Otherworld... only relying on wisdom and tactics, Rose doesn’t feel she will lose!

Rose’s pride and ambitions are unknown to all... oh, perhaps a lady sneering in the shadows might know, yet in the desert, Lucimar suddenly felt a chill.

He lowered his head, opened the ice box in the carriage, and looked inside, fiddling with the silver fork on the box’s edge, ”Lucy, how do you feel? Do you need to remove some ice blocks?”

”No need.” ’Lucy’ looked at him bewildered: is this little guy seriously concerned whether she feels cold?

Judging from his behavior, he’s probably worried about whether there’s an issue with the Female Mage he’s controlling.

People of this world rarely encounter deities’ incarnations, let alone the Chosen one, right?

Otherwise, why don’t they know that once possessed by deities, all attributes almost inevitably reach the limits allowed by this world.

This is why ’Lucy’ doesn’t intend to hide from that woman what she’s done, even though she could obscure her sight through some means, as long as that woman understands this body’s capabilities well enough, she can notice ’Lucy’’s rapidly changing physical attributes.

Better to seal off the mental lock in her Mental Sea directly.

Compared to this, which is really her way of challenging Gaia and establishing preliminary consensus with the Undead Tribe through the Female Mage outside, her hidden tactics left in the Danboro Capital are more useful.

As for the results of the provocation.

Sensing the waves constantly crashing in Lucy’s Mental Sea, ’Lucy’ showed a sinister smile: a waste is just a waste.

The more she learns about Gaia’s life, the more ’Lucy’ thinks she is unbelievably dumb.

Utilizing her own child to dispose of a stronger man is understandable, but to relinquish power thereafter to nurture other men?

Not knowing what’s more important, it’s no wonder she’s fallen to such a plight.

The most baffling part to ’Lucy’ is... Gaia is still trying to resurrect her youngest son, and then?

Wait for the youngest son to lead her to dominate the world again?

Hasn’t she got hands herself? Doesn’t she already use conspiracy quite well... why not fight for a better future for herself?

Fight and snatch for yourself! In this world, the law of the jungle prevails, only what you snatch to your mouth tastes truly good!

Isn’t it absurd to be drinking soup while others are eating meat... especially when the meat was surrendered by you?

Why pin the future on your son!

It’s no wonder she lost most of her Earth Divinity, this fool... even Aesces could scold her as an idiot.

’Lucy’ raised her eyebrows, speaking leisurely, ”You should be granted the position of a Chosen by Aesces, right?

The Chosen differs from incarnations, their strength gradually increases.

By then, you will understand how powerful divinity is.”

Her voice carried a hint of mockery, ”Don’t suppose your father was really extraordinarily talented to increase his strength annually?

Mage is a profession that requires time, any exceptions are the result of divine intervention.

So, you can feel what it’s like for your strength to soar.

Of course, if he plans to make you work, yet doesn’t grant you corresponding power, then it’s just your misfortune.”

The malice in her eyes was not intended to be hidden.

Lucimar could only smile slightly, ”For beings as humble as us, the soul being preserved, allowing us to close our eyes peacefully before death.

Everything else is divine grace.

Having it, I would be wildly happy.

Not having it, I’m still willing.

What could be more reassuring to a human than eternal sleep?”

’Lucy’ sneered, ”Interesting, I really wonder, after experiencing what power is, would you still utter such words.”

”That depends on myself.” Lucimar softly said, ”Humans, whichever ending they reach, it’s all because of every step taken before.”
