Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1693: Chapter 270: Operation Harass Rose

’Snow Cloud Peak’ really finds this game the most baffling, yet brilliantly executed, with its peculiar fate and reincarnation cycle.

Although games are meant for relaxation, not education... making people learn while playing is just last life’s sins and this life’s foolishness.

But if it can subtly invoke a sense of awe, that’s not bad.

A game that can make someone say, ”It’s best not to do bad things, because doing good might bring luck,” is truly a peerless masterpiece.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ has wandered the interstellar network for so many years, and only this game gives him a feeling of wanting to stay forever... Many games, after a few years of peak, try to save player retention with quick-fix tricks.

The simplest is to stir competition among players.

His initial troubles stem from this... Even the game company doesn’t want his ironclad dominance.

Because he doesn’t like spending money on games, nor does he incite others to spend.

The ones who truly animate such games are those like ’End of the World Romance’... provocative, pretentious jerks who always spark a desire for rebellion among many.

Although this definitely exhausts the game’s later life, most game companies never plan for a permanent game... Servers have a lifespan.

Even if a smart system can swap hardware without data loss, cost-effectiveness is what’s on many businessmen’s minds.

So, most games only have enjoyable early scenarios, while the later ones are bosses fighting for supremacy... Once they’ve settled scores, the game also concludes.

Thus, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ even after revenge, still moves with people to new gaming worlds.

But Space-Time is different.

You can see every storyline can expand outward and inward, never independently existing.

Just like... a real world.

If the super-intelligent retired planetary smart system run by the Space-Time Company wasn’t famously known, many would suspect if this is a real world.

Only such a super-intelligent system, managing billions, can possibly have such frighteningly derived capabilities.

Moreover, like the planetary smart system, which was once in-service, but retired due to long service and its original personality becoming stubborn, clashing with new research servers—this powerful intelligence has some core rules written in it... And once this core is locked, it can’t be undone.

Not entirely impossible, but requires a national vote.

So, although many companies initially coveted this powerful smart system, nobody wanted to bankrupt themselves for something so untouchable!

Just like the Space-Time Company can’t freely expose player privacy, nor can they lead players to do evil—the reason the Undead Tribe can tolerate William’s endless binding is this.

Not having societal laws demanding compliance in-game already shows the Space-Time Company’s prowess, altering its inherent thought!

No idea how much effort Space-Time Company put into writing game is game, reality is reality into its logic.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ always somewhat suspected, the so-called God of Time and Space is this smart system... its character truly is similar.

But he genuinely enjoys playing.

Indeed, this is his first game where he’s willing to engage with NPCs, solving mysteries from various scenarios willingly.

Everyone’s response, whether good or evil, has a touch of humanity.

Although the logic of deities is annoying... but having read some philosophical books, he understands, gods are supposed to be this way.

It’s just the game deities are too vivid.

Especially with such an unbelievable existence as Aesces... although he’s long understood there’s never an omniscient deity, such a deity giving a feeling of just graduating kindergarten is too... how was it created with such fundamental logic?

He can’t help stretching lazily, speaking to the still troubled Aesces: ”Why are you tangled up with how strong Tai Ji, who can’t return, really is?

What we need now is to determine what this matter actually is... conjecture is always just conjecture, and can’t be a basis for action!

Are you planning on having me ask about matters related to Lansendel and other deities?

Do I even have that qualification?

Ah... I remember William said, those you involved with the Temporal Artifact have a fixed contact channel, isn’t Lansendel there too?

Here you are still...”

’Making a dream’ was swallowed back... having just tricked Aesces once, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ graciously decided to temporarily let him go.

When Aesces annoys him next time, then he’ll settle all accounts.

Aesces sensed the held-back anger from the Undead Tribe commander, and swiftly slipped away.

He certainly isn’t afraid of ’Snow Cloud Peak’... But even the strongest weak student, with a little conscience, would have a touch of awe for a sincere, iron-not-seen-for-steel teacher, even if the teacher’s powerless!

Actually, Aesces is also quite hopeful that Lucimar will succeed soon.

At least then, all his doubts could be discussed with Lucimar first... If Lucimar can’t solve them and needs help, he could directly go to ’Snow Cloud Peak’ and ask in person, right?

Both parties would be comfortable then.

Mr. ’Snow Cloud Peak’ could scold without restraint, not having to be so cautious every time like now.

And Lucimar could learn more life philosophies, don’t you think?

Hill, this time, said nothing.

The current development of matters left him a bit confused.

Tai Ji is not something he can comprehend, even if she has been gone for countless centuries.

Moreover, since this involves her, the best solution is to let the deities from Toril participate, especially Lansendel.

Although he has completely given up on the wish to resurrect Tai Ji, anything related to this Goddess of Fate, he would definitely pay attention to.

Speaking of which, despite Lansendel having many flaws, just the fact that he never intended to replace Tai Ji with either the Goddess of Luck, Tymora, or the Goddess of Misfortune, Benshasha, gives one a bit of respect for him.

Of course, this goodwill isn’t enough to make Hill sacrifice Aesces’ interests... But at this moment, Hill suddenly had a feeling that this matter would not harm Aesces in any way.

On the contrary, it would be beneficial to him.

That was not just any feeling, but a reminder from the deepest part of his bloodline, which Hill certainly knew where it came from.

And he suddenly became a bit interested in Aesces and the world that gave birth to him... Could it be that like their Teraxil, Aesces is also a junior thrown into the world by some higher existence for training?

Therefore, Hill did not intend to stop Aesces’ actions, even though he remained wary of Tai Ji’s appearance.

In any case, someone would certainly immediately inform AO of this... Shaer, although she hoped Toril would return to silence, understood which side she should stand on between Tai Ji and AO.

By then, it would depend on who could outmaneuver whom.

And then Hill couldn’t help but look up at the sky: At this moment, does Aesces even know how many eyes are watching here?

Lansendel’s reaction was indeed swift.

Aesces returned with the words, ’Hermes indeed sought out Tai Ji, received an unsatisfactory answer, and left unsatisfied. However, Tai Ji performed a blessing ritual on some peculiar threads in his possession, which seemed like dead objects but held mysterious power.’

They seemed to have known each other before, but their relationship wasn’t very good.’ By the time he returned with these words, the Undead Tribe had already received their latest task.

The cross-world task from the Great Peacock had excited the Undead Tribe endlessly, they never expected to earn military exploits from Toril in a place like Aesces!

So, even if the doors and windows of ’Lucy’ were tightly shut, brave warriors still gently knocked on the window sills.

Then, upon discovering some of Red Willow Oasis’ undead already taking the lead, fearing the opportunity would slip away, they also joined in surrounding it.

By the time ’Mobi Chenxin’ discovered this, everything was already too late.

So he could only find a hidden spot to hide and prepare to listen to first-hand information, while Snow Old Dog cursed on the other side of the tablet.

Since things had already become like this... Rose would probably say something after killing enough of these crazy fools.

White light flickered, and black threads shot out across the air.

The undead surrounding the small house instantly collapsed.

However, what did the deaths of hundreds even count as?

In any case, in half an hour, they would be warriors again.

The sight of the undead transforming into light was quite beautiful, the more they died, the more dazzling the brilliance.

Lucimar quickly locked all the residents of the oasis in the square, including himself, retreating into their rooms, not wanting to witness the outcome of the undead’s madness at all.

Time passed quickly, but also slowly... As the undead felt their resurrection time beginning to lengthen, Rose also grew a bit frustrated.

Of course she didn’t mind killing people for several days and nights, even for half a year, what harm would it do?

But Lady Rose greatly disliked doing useless work.

Killing the undead was among the most obvious of these... Especially since they were still laughing loudly when they died: ”Ah! I blocked a thread!”

”What’s that compared to me? I died only after blocking three threads!”

Let’s not say that Rose, who wasn’t of a very good temper originally, would go mad, anyone would.

’Lucy’ viciously pushed open the window, her beautiful face filled with killing intent.
