Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2223: Despair

The three great expert-level lifeforms, plus Ye Zhongming, even though many parasites came to block them, did not cause them too much danger, at most only delaying them a bit.

”Look, the exit!”

White Robe shouted at a certain moment. Ahead, he did not see light, but instead discovered defensive measures. These were all built by the small race alliance earlier, and he was one of the supervisors, so he naturally recognized them.

Jie Su also confirmed that this was the exit. He saw increasingly obvious formation signs on the ground.

These formations naturally could not trouble Jie Su. Wherever he passed, the formations all failed.

The three people and one dragon quickly rushed out of the cave!

At the Overlapping Water Dead Zone, some small race alliance members left behind were patrolling everywhere.

Because the main force had already set off, the number of warriors left behind was small, and the defense area each squad was responsible for had become much larger. They also knew that if any mistake occurred at this time, it would be irreversible. So during this period, they did not dare to relax at all, checking their defense areas diligently, afraid of missing something.

At the same time, they kept praying in their hearts that the surrounding mutated lifeforms and parasites would not attack the base at this time. Although the Kepaiski Sky Cover helped them defend and enough energy was left, each personʼs area of responsibility was too large during a battle. If they were attacked continuously, they themselves had no confidence in their ability to hold it.

But at this moment, a sound suddenly came from the direction of the Half-Abyss Demon Cave. The nearby patrol squad rushed over to check the situation with pale faces. They all thought the worst had happened: the parasites from the Half-Abyss Demon Cave had sortied. Thus, the Overlapping Water Dead Zone would face enemies from all sides!
But the first thing they saw was a giant figure flying into the dead zone. Strangely, the Kepaisi Sky Cover did not launch an attack.

Could it be... that even their most relied-upon defensive facility had malfunctioned?

The squad members watched the lifeform draw closer. One of the Star-Eye Clan members suddenly said, ”It looks... it looks a bit like our order leaderʼs war beast.”

The next second, three people jumped down from the dragonʼs back: Jie Su, White Robe, and Ye Zhongming.

The return of the three people and one dragon immediately caused a commotion in the base.

Ordinary warriors did not know what was happening, but some middle and high-ranking members of the Su Clan and Star-Eye Clan did. They immediately came to contact them. After learning that the main force had been gone for a long time, the several people sighed helplessly.

The thing they had worried about most had still happened.

They had indeed spent many days in the mountain belly, or perhaps had been delayed for a long time in the space currents of teleportation, which led to the current situation.

The Su Clan and the small race alliance had chosen to go all in against the Huoʼer Star people. Their purpose, naturally, was to rescue them, so conflict was unavoidable.

But those were the Huoʼer Star people, with not only hundreds of thousands of warriors but also a host of great experts and a peak expert guarding them. Going there like that, the outcome was predictable.

After carefully inquiring about the time they had left, the three people and one dragon made a judgment: if they rushed over now, they should still make it in time.

Of course, even if they could not make it in time, they still had to go and see.

”If we teleport from the mountain belly, even one second earlier, perhaps more of our clansmen will survive.”

After Ye Zhongming finished speaking, he was about to return with the three people and one dragon when he saw the mechanical genius and the young girl.

”Where are you going? Iʼm going too!”

The mechanical genius had noticed it the moment the White Dragon Horse appeared. Seeing that Ye Zhongming was busy and had been watching from the side, he immediately wanted to follow when he saw them about to leave.

Ye Zhongming and the others definitely could not let everyone else enter the Half-Abyss Demon Cave. The few people left here, if thrown into there, probably would not create much of a stir, only increasing casualties. And the Overlapping Water Dead Zone could not be abandoned either. If they failed over there, at least some seeds would remain here.

But the mechanical genius and his helper...

Ye Zhongming only thought briefly, then said, ”It is very dangerous. None of us are confident.”

”Letʼs go!” The mechanical genius rushed toward the demon cave first. The three people and one dragon had to follow, and meanwhile told him that the ultimate goal was to find two strange lifeforms who spoke Chinese.

Back in the deep darkness, the several people continuously threw out illuminating equipment. This greatly increased their speed. And the strength they displayed also startled the mechanical genius and the young girl.

This... was completely the posture of great experts.

”Upper left!”

White Robe suddenly said. Ye Zhongming immediately raised his hand toward the upper left, and a cold light nailed into the stone wall. A parasite had appeared there at some unknown time.

”Is the direction correct?” Jie Su asked. All along, White Robe had been leading. For an outstanding assassin, pathfinding was just a basic ability. After becoming a great expert, this ability had been greatly enhanced.

”Correct.”

White Robe answered, then added, ”But the situation is a bit off. The parasites we are encountering are too few.”

The several people nodded together.

Earlier, they had seen Wen Hong and Little Ninth Brother jump down from the caves. Before that, even though Wen Hongʼs heavy body moved like an earthquake, they had not been attacked by any parasites. It was, the guardiansʼ privilege.

Or even further, they might have the ability to control parasites.

But now, although they were continuously encountering parasites, the number was clearly not large, even abnormally few. When they had first been transmitted here, they had encountered more parasites than now.

Although they sensed something was wrong, they had no other choice now. Going out to the Overlapping Water Dead Zone and instructing matters had taken over an hour. Now they had less than two hours left.

They fought their way down and, with one hour and twelve minutes left before the challenge ended, they returned to the mountain belly.

But here, there was no sign of Wen Hong and Little Ninth Brother.

At their speed, it would take at least half an hour to get from the Half-Abyss Demon Cave to here, even with few parasites. Now with countless caves around, how were they supposed to search?

This battle was bound to be lost.

”Going to lose, right? Do you want us to give you a chance?” Little Ninth Brotherʼs voice, which had become extremely unpleasant, came through.

Jie Su, White Robe, and even the White Dragon Horse listened carefully. At their level, they could completely distinguish the source by sound, even in a mountain belly like this.

But the voice seemed to come from every cave around. After listening for a moment, the two people and one dragon shook their heads, indicating they could not be sure.

”Others, all, leave here, follow, the, caves we, specify, leave, keep walking, donʼt stop, be obedient, otherwise, you will, never, find us.”
