Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2183: They arenʼt the only ones that are crazy

”The beast horde has retreated some distance, but they are still lingering nearby. I suggest we conduct some cleanup by regiment. However, because the operations wonʼt go far and will all be near the dead zone, two regiments can go out together to support each other. If they provoke a coordinated attack from the beast horde, they should immediately retreat, and the remaining regiments can also come out to provide support.”

The chief of a small race said while looking at the holographic map.

The intense defensive battle from earlier had ended, and the small race alliance had achieved victory.

There were losses, and not insignificant, but what they gained was far greater. The value represented by the mutated creature corpses left in their encampments and on the小路 was enough to leave them with a large surplus even after distributing sufficient compensation.

So, after an initial period when the entire camp was filled with a somber atmosphere, everyone gradually replaced it with excitement and eagerness to take action.

Kepaiski Sky Cover had brought them an unprecedented sense of security.

”I think hunting can be set aside for now. Should we invite people from the Su Clan to come and supplement and repair the formations here? Especially those on the small paths. If another beast tide attacks, they can also serve as an obstacle. Relying only on Kepaiski Sky Cover and our brave warriors would result in losses that are too great.”

Chief Duoduo said. In the previous battle, his Aof Clan had suffered considerable losses. He was very distressed. If the formations could play a greater role, he would be very willing to see that.

The others also nodded. The formations had played a major role in the defense. This was not something they could oppose.

Moreover, many believed that even if it cost some money, they should invite the Su Clan to set up higher-level formations so they could play a greater role.
All the chiefs almost unanimously agreed upon this opinion. Even the chiefs who were in the hunting grounds very decisively negotiated and finalized the budget for improving the formationsʼ strength and level very decisively.

Each race had gained considerable income and inevitably felt a bit ʼfinancially robust.ʼ

While they were talking, someone from outside suddenly came in to report that Huozhi, the elder of the Su Clan, had arrived and wanted to see the two leaders of the Star-Eye Clan.

The two leaders did not dare to delay and quickly exited the tent. The others looked at each other, and all noticed each otherʼs envy.

The relationship between the Star-Eye Clan and the Su Clan was really good, to the point that even an elder of the Su Clan had personally come.

……………………………………

Huozhi stood at the edge of the dead zone, looking at the Long River Alluvial Plain outside the dead zone, his gaze quiet, thinking about something unknown. The small race people kept their distance. This personʼs status was simply too high above for them.

When the two Star-Eye lords arrived, Elder Huozhi timely turned around.

”Very pleased to see you again. Unfortunately, what we need to discuss concerns a few ungovernable children.”

Huozhi still maintained his excellent demeanor. He spoke to the two Star-Eye lords with a smile. Those who looked on from afar could not capture even a hint of the conversationʼs content from his expression.

The two Star-Eye lords were first startled, then immediately asked anxiously, ”Has something happened to them?”

They knew about the three going to kill Zimu. Because Ye Zhongming had brought too many changes to the Star-Eye Clan during this period, they had gotten into the habit of trusting the Bronze Order Leader.

Even the matter of assassinating Zimu was the same.

Now, suddenly hearing Huozhi say this, and considering that he had personally come to find them, they subconsciously thought something had happened to the several.

Huozhi did not answer, but continued, ”I still canʼt be certain for now.”

He looked at the two Star-Eye clan leaders and continued, ”Based on the time they left, they should have returned by now. But they havenʼt appeared, so I have no choice but to consider the possibility that they failed. Because if that is the case, what we will have to face is a super race.”

”This time, I have come to hear your opinions, and also… to give you some suggestions. I hope I am not being offended by saying this.”

Elder Huozhi slightly bowed to apologize to the two clan leaders.

The two Star-Eye lords quickly stepped aside. They did not think that in terms of status and strength, Huozhi owed them an apology. This was merely the politeness born of his good upbringing.

”Please speak.” Eye Lord replied, stabilizing his emotions and beginning to think about what to do next.

Elder Huozhi nodded: ”Let us say that there are now two possibilities. The first is that they succeeded and have not returned, only because of some delays. Under this premise, it can still be further divided into two parts. One is that they completed the task perfectly. The second is that although they killed Zimu and got away, their identities were recognized.”

At this point, Huozhiʼs tone paused, and only then did he continue: ”The second possibility is that they failed, either escaping or not escaping. If they escaped, there are two possibilities: being recognized or not being recognized. If they did not escape, exposure is certain. The only difference is whether they were captured or killed.”

The two Star-Eye lords listened, their unease growing stronger.

”If they perfectly completed the task and only havenʼt returned due to some reasons, what we need to do is wait, because the way they left and the way they return are beyond our control.”

Huozhi still smiled, but there was no trace of a smile in his eyes.

”In this case, the Huoʼer Star people will certainly investigate Zimuʼs death. They will not let it go. They will search for all clues, and may even send a few people to monitor targets they consider suspicious. We will certainly not be spared here. We need to provide cover for the three children. So… do you two lords have any ways to deal with it?”

Faced with Huozhiʼs question, Star Lord replied: ”Both Zhongming and White-Robe have doubles. As long as they donʼt infiltrate close to them, they will certainly not be discovered.”

Elder Huozhiʼs eyes brightened a bit. He felt that the Star-Eye Clanʼs way of handling things was much more reliable than other small races.

”Jie Su also has a double over there.”

After saying this, Huozhiʼs smile faded slightly, and he said, ”And if they failed… they will most likely never return. If dead, needless to say, the Huoʼer Star people will absolutely not spare us. And if captured, we will certainly suffer retaliation.”

After saying this, Huozhi was silent for a moment, as if giving the two Star-Eye Lords a bit more time to think.

”Given the current strength of the Su Clan, even with the races submitting to your small race alliance and us, we cannot go against a single Huoʼer Star people, let alone the entire Huoʼer Star faction. Therefore, if they failed, we need to take some safety measures.”

”We agreed to let them do this crazy thing, so we must bear the consequences of their madness.”

”Before I state my suggestion, I need first to confirm one thing: Are Ye Zhongming and White-Robe indispensable to your Star-Eye Clan?”
