Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2195: Reward change and explanation power (2)

It was still that kind of monster, like a giant octopus, that made peopleʼs hearts jump at the sight. It was still that kind of feeding method that directly wrapped around a huge planet. It was still that kind of awe-inspiring life absorption.

The three people and one dragon watched, their bodies and minds greatly shaken. Because they were ʼcloseʼ, they saw clearly, and the details of the Slave Race were clearly displayed before their eyes.

Among the cosmic races, there were some photos and images of this circulating, but because one could not get too close, even at high magnification, they were inevitably somewhat distorted, simply because the distance was too great.

They believed that if they recorded everything they saw as images, they could definitely sell it for a good price when they returned.

”It seems like... an adult, no, it should be a middle-generation Slave Race.”

Jie Su murmured, then realized that speaking was actually possible in this space.

The other two did not answer, but they thought so as well.

Ye Zhongming understood what Jie Su meant. Regarding the Slave Race, since there were few distinct features among individuals, apart from the Mother Entity, others, when viewed from a distance, did not differ greatly except in size.

Of course, given the current technological level of the cosmic races, after so many years of research on the Slave Race, there was naturally a great deal of recorded information. So even Ye Zhongming, a newcomer, could recognize this Slave Raceʼs ʼlevelʼ from these details.

The so-called first-generation and middle-generation were just unofficial terms used by the myriad races of the universe to refer to the Slave Race, corresponding to the official terms like newborn and adult. However, after the Slave Race reached adulthood, their strength was simply too exaggerated, and the myriad races of the universe had no way to deal with them. Therefore, at the adult stage, no further specific divisions were made, and only the Mother Entity was categorized separately.
To further individualize the Slave Race, unofficial sources divided it beyond the underage stage into three levels: adult, middle-generation, and first-generation, which also represented three stages of the Slave Raceʼs strength.

Due to the special nature of the Slave Race, the longer they lived, the stronger they became. Adulthood meant they had just passed the newborn period and become mature individuals. Middle-generation meant they had lived a certain age and were strong. First-generation meant more literally the first generation of offspring from the Slave Race Mother Entity; at least in the view of the myriad races of the universe, they were not much different from the Slave Race Mother Entity itself.

This Slave Race that occupied the planet hunting ground should be a middle-aged individual with powerful strength. This was also consistent with the Slave Raceʼs criteria for selecting planets.

After that, the several people returned to the interior of the planet, where war had already restarted.

Parasites began to appear and developed rapidly in some unknown places. By the time the lifeforms of this planet discovered them, these parasites had already gained momentum and were no longer so easy to eliminate.

The war continued. The parasite-controlled areas gradually spread from a few spots at the beginning to spread around the entire planet.

Among them, some particularly powerful individuals appeared, against whom even the beings on the planet who could fly into space with their physical bodies were powerless against.

In the eyes of Jie Su and the others, these were at least at the peak expert level.

Moreover, the parasitesʼ reproduction speed was too fast, so fast that they could not be completely killed. Even though their overall strength was still inferior to that of the planetʼs natives, they could achieve local numerical superiority. And once they won a battle, they would absorb enough energy to reproduce even more or produce powerful individuals.

This disgusting method gradually tilted the balance of victory in this war.

They did not know how many years had passed—it should not have been long—and the parasites gained the absolute upper hand. The natives began to be forced to conduct strategic retreats, and various regions began to merge to jointly fight the parasites.

The entire planetʼs natives were ultimately trapped in twenty large cities.

During this period, the situation was relatively stable. The parasites no longer only troubled the natives; they also began to fight various types of mutated lifeforms.

The nativeʼs reproduction speed was not as fast as the parasitesʼ, their methods of fighting were relatively more singular, and it took too long to train a qualified warrior.

But the mutated lifeforms were different. They had countless species, extraordinary reproduction speeds, innate abilities, and combat power. They replaced the natives in holding back the parasites.

But this was only temporary. The parasites became strong again, even able to split into two, attacking both the mutated lifeforms and the natives together, and continuing to achieve victories.

In the end, six of the human cities were destroyed. The remaining fourteen merged, forming five major cities, which became the final home of the natives.

But the situation only lasted for a short time before the parasites launched frenzied attacks. The first large city fell. The remaining natives had to merge again to maximize their power, forming two giant cities not far from each other, so that if one was attacked, the other could provide support.

But by this point in the war, every native knew that their defeat was inevitable. Even if the parasites simply fought a war of attrition, they could drive them to extinction within just a few years.

At a certain moment, the most powerful native stepped forward. He had mastered some ability, unknown. With the agreement of almost all the natives, on a night when a city was about to be breached, he absorbed the life force of everyone. Then, he rapidly crossed the planet, successively absorbed the energy of four of the most powerful lifeforms, then directly charged out of the planet and attacked that Slave Race.

”He did not choose to target those parasites,” Jie Su said. ”Very wise... but...”

He did not finish, but everyone understood.

At the moment of despair and imminent annihilation, the natives here chose to sacrifice their lives to one person. In effect, the natives had already become extinct.

This selected powerful native did not choose to eliminate the parasites, but instead targeted the Slave Race, aiming to solve the root problem.

But... The few of them shook their heads in their hearts.

If the Slave Race could be eliminated by a single lifeform alone, they would not be able to roam freely in the universe as they did now.

The ʼvideoʼ suddenly ended here. The several people returned to the mountain belly. Before them was still the energy door, surrounded by seemingly never-ending sparks.

The sudden interruption of the ʼvideoʼ before it ended made the several people feel a bit unaccustomed. Still, they also knew that this should be the so-called 30% interpretation, right?

But... this video seemed to explain everything clearly, lacking only the final result. Was this the so-called thirty percent? Then what would the remaining seventy percent contain?

”The third round of trials is about to begin. Please choose: continue or return?”
