Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2202: Eternal Grace

”Half-Abyss Demon Cave?” Ye Zhongming and White Robe exclaimed almost simultaneously in surprise.

They had already confirmed that this place was on this planet, but what they had not expected was that this place was actually right next to their encampment.

”Why are you so certain?” Ye Zhongming asked.

Jie Su clenched his fist and said in a deep voice, ”When I advanced to great expert, my spiritual power was in a state of abundance. It automatically spread outward, and nothing here could block it.”

”So I saw the parasites in the cave, saw those two strange lifeforms, and also saw the outside... the Kepaiski Sky Cover.”

This explanation indeed sufficiently accounted for the geographical location here.

The several people fell silent for a moment.

Although they now knew where this place was, it did not seem particularly helpful to them; after all, the trials were not yet over, and they could not get out at all.

Nevertheless, this information was ultimately good news. If they were to return to a place outside the Half-Abyss Demon Cave when the time came, then that would essentially be coming straight home.

”You should first adapt to your body,” Ye Zhongming said to Jie Su, then looked at the energy door, which now displayed his image.
Previously, Ye Zhongmingʼs remaining points totaled 1,856, as he had spent some on purchasing equipment and potions. Now, his points had become 3,888. In this trial, Ye Zhongming had obtained 2,032 points!

Having obtained over two thousand points in a single battle, everyone cast their surprised and envious gazes toward... the White Dragon Horse.

Yes, the White Dragon Horse had certainly gained the most in this round. Since the ʼcontributorʼ ranked second, Ye Zhongming, could get over two thousand points, then how many would it get!

Ye Zhongming paid no attention to his two friends. He was considering what to choose this time.

Now that Jie Su had become a great expert and his own transformation cooldown had ended, the next trial should be manageable.

But what about the trial after that?

Would they rely solely on Jie Su? Given the pattern of increasing difficulty, that was clearly unlikely.

After the White Dragon Horse had already taken that drug, it could only focus on being a support, enhancing everyoneʼs defense. It could no longer provide strong firepower support.

The third round of this stage would be hard to get through.

So they should now look at what to exchange to improve their strength. Ideally, they could avoid using his transformation ability and save it for the third round.

The reward pool was filled with a vast array of items, so many that it was dazzling. Almost every item could improve strength. But with Ye Zhongmingʼs current reward points, no item could instantly elevate his strength by a large margin.

At least, after looking for a long time, he had not found one.

”Actually, you could wait until after the next round to choose. Now that I have become a great expert, I will try to hold the line in the next round. That way, when it ends, you will have more points to use, and the types of items you can choose from will be more numerous and more powerful.”

Ye Zhongming nodded, acknowledging that Jie Suʼs suggestion was one approach.

But could a single great expert like Jie Su hold the line? Looking at the round that had just passed, even the White Dragon Horse, having jumped to its adult state, had only barely won. Jie Su alone would probably not be enough.

If they did not prepare and danger arose, there would be no way to remedy it.

”This one.”

After thinking for a moment, Ye Zhongming chose an item.

It was a scale-shaped object, very delicate but small, looking more like a toy.

”Eternal Grace?”

Jie Su and White Robe saw this item for the first time. They found it strange that they had not noticed it before. After reading its function, they understood.

This was a piece of equipment used between a master and a war beast. Since they did not have war beasts here, they had simply not looked in that direction.

But when they saw the description of this item called Eternal Grace, they all looked at Ye Zhongming with a sigh and said, ”Are you sure?”

Ye Zhongming nodded.

The White Dragon Horse gazed at him as well, as if seeing its master for the first time.

Eternal Grace was a... one-sided granting equipment, used between master and war beast.

Specifically, it was a piece of equipment for the master to grant abilities to the war beast unilaterally.

In many respects, abilities between lifeforms were actually connected. What a master could learn, a war beast could also learn.

This was not difficult to understand. In the myriad races of the universe, and even among all lifeforms in the entire universe, the relationship between the terms ʼmasterʼ and ʼwar petʼ was inherently blur. For example, a human and a dog: on Earth, the former was certainly the master and the latter the pet. But among the myriad races of the universe, perhaps their roles were reversed.

Of course, although it was called ʼgrantingʼ, it could not be used casually. It required a certain代价. For a master to grant one of their own abilities to a war beast, several prerequisites had to be met first.

For example, the war beast must not have reached the limit of its skill count. The skill to be granted must be compatible with the war beast itself. The war beastʼs energy and constitution must meet the minimum conditions for using that ability, etc.

Secondly, this granting was quite unfavorable to the master. That is to say, it could not be granted arbitrarily; the master had to pay a price.

For example, if a suitable ability that met the above conditions was selected for granting, the master must have fully mastered it. And after granting it, this ability would be permanently taken away from the masterʼs body and could not be relearned or mastered again.

Furthermore, each time an ability was granted, the master would enter a state of weakness, similar to taking a berserker potion. Moreover, the process of granting would be extremely painful. If the master could not endure it and the transfer failed, the master would still lose the ability and enter physical weakness, and might also suffer injuries that could never be healed.

In short, this item was not something to be used casually.

”As for abilities, I donʼt think the White Dragon Horse needs them. What I value in this piece of equipment, besides granting abilities, is that it can also grant... Furelai!”

Ye Zhongming pointed to the last paragraph and explained.

Everyone had already seen this, which was why they looked at Ye Zhongming with such complex eyes.

This Eternal Grace could also unilaterally transfer Furelai between master and war beast. Compared to transferring abilities, the side effects of transferring Furelai were not as many. However, it was the master transferring Furelai to the war beast; the war beast could not transfer Furelai to the master. How many masters would be willing to do such a thing? Even an idiot knew how hard it was to increase oneʼs Furelai!

This transfer was also irreversible. Once transferred to the war beast, the master would lose it.

Moreover, this transfer was not equal. Some Furelai would be lost in the process. How much was lost depended on the war beastʼs affinity with the master. The higher the affinity, the smaller the loss, and vice versa.

”Think about the total reward points we will obtain this round. You should understand my thinking, right?”

”I want to see if I can push the White Dragon Horseʼs Furelai above 100,000 as well.”
