Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2187: Reverse

Sometimes, for all races in the universe, choices were always simple because there was a clear standard.

That standard was survival.

By this standard, the three people should not have hesitated in choosing the Fusion Method.

Choose it, and they could live; not choose it, and they would die. Since that was the case, wasnʼt the answer obvious?

But precisely, the side effects of the Fusion Method were truly disgusting to them. Each of them was a chosen son and an outstanding young talent in their respective races, and they could not accept becoming neither human nor ghost.

Imagine it: the steady and mature Jie Su growing an extra arm, White Robe, the idol of countless small races, growing an extra leg, the handsome Cloud Peak King losing his nose... what a terrifying thing that would be.

Deep down, the three people rejected it. This aversion was very strong.

But at the same time, the three people felt helpless. They themselves had chosen to continue with the trials, but now the intensity of the trials was beginning to overwhelm them, and the time had come when they had to come up with a solution.

Jie Su carefully read through the introduction to the Fusion Method once more, then smiled bitterly and said to his two brothers, ”No, I still canʼt accept it. I would rather spend all my points on fighting than endure the physical changes this method brings. If I accepted it and survived, I think I would eventually not be able to resist killing the reflection of myself in the mirror.”

White Robe sighed and said, ”I donʼt want to accept it either, but there doesnʼt seem to be any other way. Old Ye, what do you think?”
The two of them looked at Ye Zhongming together, hoping he had a solution at this moment.

Ye Zhongming was silent for a moment, then said, ”If it really comes to it, in the next round, let the White Dragon Horse take its drug. Combined with the formation, letʼs see if we can make it through. If we can, then in the third round of the second stage, I will choose to transform again. Perhaps we can hold out until the end of the second stage, and then we will have a chance to return.”

”But Iʼm afraid we wonʼt make it through,” White Robe said, lying back down on the ground.

He had already thought about the situation Ye Zhongming described, but no one was certain. Given how each previous trial had been much more difficult than the last, they really could not guarantee they could survive with their current means.

”I think we should just go with that. I really canʼt accept this,” Jie Su said, pointing to the position of the Fusion Method. By now, he did not even want to look at this ability. ”At least we still have hope of fighting, donʼt we?”

The three people and one dragon ultimately decided not to choose to exchange for this ability.

”Then hereʼs the problem: how should we spend our points now?” White Robe looked at his two brothers, then thought for a moment and said, ”What about...?”

The others looked at him. White Robe pointed to Jie Suʼs image and said, ”This guyʼs Furelai is now nearly eighty-three thousand, less than twenty thousand away from that line. Should we take a gamble? Push him to the great expert level?”

Based on the current exchange rate of 1 point for 3 Furelai, for Jie Su to reach 100,000 Furelai, he would need about 5,700 points. That seemed like a lot, but upon careful thought, it did not seem impossible.

In the trials conducted so far, the points obtained from each round were much higher than the previous round. Jie Su currently had 417 points, still needing just over 5,000. Based on previous patterns, the total reward points for the third round had exceeded 300, and by the fourth round, they had nearly reached 800. So for the fifth round, the total might reach about 2,000, and for the sixth round, it might go straight to 5,000!

If everyone tried to let Jie Su score more points during the battles, perhaps after the sixth round, Jie Su could accumulate enough points to evolve to a great expert.

Of course, this was the ideal scenario. But for the several people, to effectively utilize this ʼblessed fortuneʼ, they needed something reliable to rely on. Jie Suʼs formation was increasingly insufficient in strength. Ye Zhongmingʼs transformation was limited by cooldown, and whether it would work as effectively later was uncertain. The White Dragon Horseʼs drug could only be used once...

If they could have one great expert, everything might not be solved, but at least they could go further.

”I think the risk is too great, and itʼs also difficult to manage. Better not,” Jie Su shook his head. He carefully considered it and felt it was not very realistic. The three of them might not even survive the next round, and they did not have enough spare capacity to control the battlefield. Doing this would very likely lead to a direct failure.

”Old Ye, what do you think?”

In response to White Robeʼs question, Ye Zhongming thought for a moment and said, ”We can try, but the outcome can only be left to fate.”

”Then what should we choose now?” White Robe looked at the reward pool, studying it carefully.

”I have an idea I want to test,” Ye Zhongming suddenly said at this moment.

The two people and one dragon looked at him. Ye Zhongming pointed at some equipment and said, ”I want to try reorganizing equipment.”

Jie Su and White Robe did not quite understand and waited for him to continue explaining.

Ye Zhongming waved his hand and took out some damaged equipment from his spatial gear. The others were very surprised, because these were items they had discarded, and they did not know when Ye Zhongming had collected them again.

”I discovered that the corpses of the parasites we killed could not be placed into spatial gear, nor could they be processed in any way on the spot. However, our own original equipment, as well as equipment exchanged from the reward pool, could be brought back and processed.”

Originally, this was useless because you didnʼt have materials to repair or manufacture new equipment. But now youʼre talking about reorganization—is the ultimate goal to decompose them into materials for repairing equipment?” Jie Su immediately asked from the side after hearing this.

Their Su Clan had considerable research into materials and manufacturing. In contrast to him was White Robe, who had no say on this issue.

Ye Zhongming nodded. ”Thatʼs the idea, but whether they can actually be decomposed, how much can be decomposed, and whether what is decomposed can still be used—all that needs to be tested to know.”

With an idea, they tested it. Everyone had Jie Suʼs remain still, so that the energy door would stay in selection mode, preventing an abrupt entry into the next trial. The others and the White Dragon Horse, following Ye Zhongmingʼs request, selected some equipment for Ye Zhongming to experiment with.

As a top-tier craftsman, Ye Zhongming was not very confident about this kind of reverse decomposition of equipment either. After experimenting with more than a dozen of the cheapest pieces of equipment, he grasped a few tricks. By the time he was fully confident that he could decompose equipment back into a material state, he had already used over a hundred pieces of equipment, costing him 150 reward points.

”Didnʼt you succeed? Why are you still frowning?” White Robe asked from the side.

”During manufacturing, all kinds of materials are melted, fused, or even changed in state before taking shape. When reverse decomposing, metallic materials are fine—they can be perfectly separated. But materials of other properties are more difficult to handle; they can only be decomposed into an indeterminate state with attributes, some liquid, some powder, and even some gaseous. The results are not easy to control.”

Ye Zhongming explained.

Although it was difficult, they had to continue. So Ye Zhongming, after carefully examining the equipment they had previously damaged and thinking it over, began selecting equipment from the reward pool.

Everyone knew the critical moment had arrived.

The first piece of equipment selected was ʼpaid forʼ by the White Dragon Horse, and the first thing repaired was its dragon saddle.
