I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 697: Chapter 6: Van Nistelrooy and Specialized Improvement

Mourinho and Diego Simeone’s comments at the press conference sparked quite a bit of discussion after the match, but Chen Zhong didn’t pay much attention to these matters.

Instead, he started focusing on specialized improvements.

This is a new feature brought by the updated system, allowing the selection of an existing ability for specialized training to achieve growth.

For example, trait levels, badges changing from silver to gold, or individual stats like weak foot and flair, etc.

Now, Chen Zhong needs to consider whether to first improve his weak foot and flair, bringing both up to the 5-star max level, or enhance other aspects first, whether to max out one aspect or develop them more evenly, or perhaps prioritize certain pressing needs.

”In other words,” Chen Zhong held the scouting report Francisco gave him, which included analysis and summaries on players: ”The club’s data management team thinks I should improve my fitness and train my weak foot, considering these two points to be the most critical.”

Chen Zhong’s fitness issue was alleviated after receiving the silver badge, and it’s adequate during matches, but just barely. In consecutive matches, the lack can lead to less impressive performance.

As a core of the team, the organizer on the field, Chen Zhong’s weak foot can also be targeted by opponents, especially now that Real Madrid mostly relies on Chen Zhong’s solo lead. Using the weak foot could have a surprising effect at times.

After thinking for a while, Chen Zhong remembered an old saying: ”Better to break one finger than injure ten.”

After all, the weak foot and flair need improvement sooner or later, so might as well max them out now while there’s still time.

After making the decision, the system’s specialized training interface changed as well.

[Specialized Training: Weak Foot]

[Star Level: Four and a Half Stars]

[Note: Once the training project reaches the top level, achieving targets in actual matches is required for further improvement.]

”Hmm!” Chen Zhong frowned a little, unsure if this change was good or bad.

In the past, such training had a set number of repetitions, like how many matches or how many passes, but now it requires achieving specific targets in the next match for improvement.

If you’re lucky, meeting the target in one match can lead to improvement; if not?

Obviously, Chen Zhong also noticed that the main reason for this change is because the project is nearing the top level, meaning there might be different changes for other options.

The next opponent is Almeria?

Shouldn’t be too difficult!

While Chen Zhong was wrestling with the system, far away in England,

Manchester City’s forward Mario Balotelli made sensational remarks, putting himself in the spotlight and giving England’s King Without a Crown, the journalists, a feast to indulge in.

Mario Balotelli, a player for the Italy National Team, once a ”genius” that troubled Mourinho greatly.

In an interview, he claimed Mourinho should be more refined in his manners, and that Chen Zhong was undeserving of the 2010 Ballon d’Or.

Of course, with the media’s penchant for stirring the pot, this must be analyzed based on the actual situation at the scene.

Balotelli was interviewed by the ”Milan Sports Newspaper.” Known as a world-class ”god” below the head, on the grand stage, he once startled countless fans with a solo play against the Spain National Team that left everyone in disbelief.

This was supposed to be a normal interview, and Balotelli initially acknowledged Mourinho’s extraordinary skills before the cameras, under Manchester City’s media officer’s watchful eye, smiling as he said: ”Mourinho is the best coach in the world,”

Manchester City Media Officer: Great! At last, this kid learned how to speak properly.

”But as a person, he needs to learn proper manners and respect others.”

Manchester City Media Officer: ???

Just as the Manchester City media officer was contemplating a job change, Balotelli, whom he thought had matured, once again made outrageous remarks: ”I don’t think Chen Zhong deserves the Ballon d’Or, it should have gone to Sneijder.”

”Or perhaps Iniesta, or maybe Xavi.”

”All in all, I don’t think his performance was exceptional, not even as good as mine.”

Balotelli’s statements could actually be interpreted, but it would require someone specialized in understanding Balotelli’s thought process. Balotelli implied that in terms of honors, without participating in the World Cup, Chen Zhong—boasting only a double title—did not match Sneijder, Xavi, and Iniesta.

And by ”his performance,” Balotelli wasn’t referring to a season’s performance, but rather the World Cup performance...

Look at that mindset, how can ordinary people understand?

Most people consider performance to be about statistics or seasons, but Balotelli was referring to the fact that Chen Zhong didn’t participate in the World Cup. He didn’t participate, so naturally, his performance couldn’t compare to mine. Doesn’t that logic stand?

The Manchester City media officer’s face had completely darkened. He desperately wanted to stop Balotelli from continuing, but when reporters shifted their questions to Balotelli’s team at Manchester City, the media officer dared not interfere further.
