I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 663: Chapter 84: Salary Raise, A Must!

”Good, good, good!”

”By the way, I heard Barcelona is planning to give Messi a salary raise?”

”Our team’s salary structure needs adjustments too. I think Chen deserves a new contract.”

Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Florentino watched as the fans in the stands shouted Chen’s name and Ballon d’Or, with a big smile on his face.

Once upon a time, Real Madrid was mocked: ”As soon as you put on the white jersey, you’re cut off from the Ballon d’Or.”

Real Madrid’s flag, Raul, was merely a passerby in the Ballon d’Or selections.

But now, Chen Zhong has appeared.

As long as he performs normally in this match, the Ballon d’Or is practically guaranteed.

Florentino has reliable sources, and Real Madrid fans are preparing a ”big gift” for Chen Zhong after he wins the Ballon d’Or.

And of course, Florentino wouldn’t treat his own kids poorly.

Recently, a Belgian Football Magazine ranked highly paid players in an article.

Chen Zhong, playing for Real Madrid, is the world’s highest-paid player.

After meeting Real Madrid’s requirements, Chen Zhong’s annual salary reached an astonishing 12 million Euros.

This doesn’t even include his other bonuses, directly surpassing Manchester United’s forward Rooney by 500,000 Euros and Barcelona’s star player Messi by 1.5 million Euros.

It is worth mentioning that Wayne Rooney’s salary saw a significant increase after renewing his contract in the first half of this season.

This made Cristiano Ronaldo dissatisfied, and Mendes subtly expressed the Portuguese’s opinion several times; he hopes to have a higher salary.

He cannot accept his current ”status.”

Every time at such moments, Florentino would think of that dinner when he stayed behind after the meal to talk with Chen Zhong about a ”new contract.”

That silly kid never cares about these things, but the club would never shortchange their iconic figures.

He certainly wouldn’t let his own kid suffer!

So he proactively asked Chen Zhong if he knew Messi’s salary, Kaka’s salary, Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary.

10.5 million Euros, 9 million Euros, 11 million Euros.

Before Chen Zhong’s new contract came out, Cristiano Ronaldo, who had just joined Real Madrid, was undisputedly the world’s highest salary. Although the 11 million Euros was 2 million less than media-reported 13 million Euros, it was enough to surpass Messi and become the world’s highest-paid player.

This salary was much higher than C. Ronaldo’s 7.6 million Euros at Manchester United.

When this actual salary was announced, many fans discussed it, thinking it was a bit unlike Florentino’s style.

By Florentino’s standards, it wouldn’t just be 500,000 Euros higher than Messi’s; if breaking records, the 13 million Euros in news reports would be more ”realistic.”

So, where did the money go?

Naturally, it went to Chen Zhong, who was then earning a ”low salary” without complaints.

million Euros, towering above all, number one in the world.

Many people couldn’t understand Chen Zhong’s salary, and even thought it was undeserved, but now no one says that anymore.

After returning from Milan, leading a nearly declining Real Madrid, he regained the league championship, the King’s Cup, and led Real Madrid to the Champions League semi-finals, all while achieving incredible performance for a midfielder.

Now, Chen Zhong is still the highest-paid player in the world, followed by Wayne Rooney as the second, Cristiano Ronaldo as the third, Yaya Toure as the fourth, who got a 10.8 million Euro salary after joining the wealthy Manchester City, surpassing Messi’s 10.5 million Euros, while Eto’o joined Inter Milan and tied with Messi for fifth with 10.5 million Euros.

Besides, Schweinsteiger, Ibrahimovic, Kaka, and Terry’s salaries all exceed or just reach 9 million Euros, ranking 7th to 10th.

Within Real Madrid, Chen Zhong, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kaka’s salaries are in a league of their own, with the fourth highest being Casillas, who used transfer threats to demand a salary increase, now at 6 million Euros, followed by Xabi Alonso at 4.6 million Euros.

Recently, Barcelona is working on giving Messi a raise, and Cristiano Ronaldo also wants a salary that surpasses Wayne Rooney or matches him, to show he is doing well at his new club, which is also a response to Ferguson’s recent remarks.

So, Florentino indeed has a plan for a salary increase in his heart.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary will rise to 11.5 million Euros, matching Wayne Rooney according to reliable news, while Messi’s salary is likely to increase to 11 million, 11.5 million, or 12 million Euros.

Florentino does not intend to be so ”stingy”; he plans to raise Chen Zhong’s salary to 13 to 14 million Euros to ensure his top salary status, which could also be a gift to Chen Zhong after winning the Ballon d’Or.

Florentino has reliable information that Chen Zhong has a high probability of winning the Ballon d’Or, and after Chen Zhong wins the Ballon d’Or, Real Madrid will have an unprecedented situation of three Ballon d’Or winners playing in the same season.

Ballon d’Or winner, Kaka.

Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo.
