I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 683: Chapter 94: Aura and Badge

After delivering perfect statistics last season, the media outside is full of praise for Chen Zhong.

However, upon seeing the statistics, Chen Zhong realized that his overall rating of 86 could only be considered top-tier. It’s just because certain statistics were too outstanding, coupled with the enhancement from auras and badges, that allowed him to perform exceptionally in actual matches.

”Now I have just reached the top-level standard.”

”And above me, there are superstars, two levels in history.”

”The improvement of player statistics certainly becomes more difficult as you progress.”

While talking to himself, Chen Zhong opened the aura interface. When he first joined Real Madrid’s youth training, the All-Powerful, Butcher, and Too Hard to Guess auras helped him a lot, and he didn’t know what adjustments would be made to the auras now.

”Hmm?”

Chen Zhong squinted, and five auras appeared in front of him, but they were not his previous three.

The first aura reads: Leader

[Leader: When you serve as the captain on the field, your presence will calm your teammates’ minds, allowing them to better display their strength. Scoring and assisting can inspire teammates’ morale.]

”Leader aura.”

”Needs to serve as captain to be activated.”

The activation conditions and abilities of this aura are very clear. Chen Zhong originally didn’t care much about the captain’s armband, and he would accept it even if he wasn’t the captain.

But now, because of the leader aura.

Sorry, I think I am the most suitable captain.

Glancing past the leader aura, Chen Zhong looked at the second aura, which reads: Cornerstone

[Cornerstone: When your starting position in this match involves more defensive tasks, the defensive players’ mindset in this match will receive a bonus. (Can be adjusted during halftime.)]

”Cornerstone?”

”Meaning if I am a starting center-back or defensive midfielder.”

”I can improve the defensive mindset, which means composure? Reducing their likelihood of making mistakes?”

In a match, a player’s mindset is very important. Sometimes, when a player’s mindset collapses, they might make irrational moves.

A typical example is Zidane knocking down Materazzi in the World Cup.

Or, like Pepe, making some irrational moves in defense.

Speaking of which, whenever I took on more defensive tasks on the field, my teammates seemed to make fewer mistakes.

Although my position is increasingly moving forward now, in some important games, or in situations that require defense, adjusting in midfield before defending may yield some special effects.

Continuing to move his gaze downwards, the next aura reads: Core

[Core: When your starting position in this match involves more organizing tasks, your teammates will be more inclined to make forward runs during this match. (Can be adjusted during halftime.)]

”Cornerstone, Core.”

”Doesn’t this represent defenders, midfielders?”

”Cornerstone is the defender aura, making the defense more solid, while Core is the midfielder aura, making the team’s offensive organization more active?”

Chen Zhong murmured, a thoughtful look in his eyes.

At the same time, he expressed agreement with the ”reasonableness” of these two auras.

Back when Chen Zhong’s position was more defensively inclined, Real Madrid’s defense generally revolved around Chen Zhong. Although goals would still be conceded, resilience and stability improved.

When Chen Zhong’s position moved forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and even Marcelo, would actively position themselves forward.

Because they trusted Chen Zhong’s ball protection and washing, and also trusted Chen Zhong’s passing.

They needed to position themselves for Chen Zhong to pass the ball out.

”Then, the next aura should be for the frontcourt?”

Thinking this, Chen Zhong turned his gaze to the next aura, which reads: Tough Guy

[Tough Guy: You are considered a tough guy on the field; no one will want to confront you directly. When clashing head-on, the opponent’s mindset may fluctuate.]

”Whoa!”

”This is interesting.”

Chen Zhong’s eyes lit up. He used to have an aura called Butcher, which could exert pressure on opponents, but now it has become the Tough Guy aura, and the description of this aura is interesting.

Having this aura is similar to seeing a blood-red boss in a game; you might feel you can’t beat it and detour. When you decide to fight, it affects the opponent’s mindset. Hot-tempered players might hassle you, while softer-tempered ones, after suffering a few losses, might just whimper away.

Whether it’s confrontation or whimpering, they are useful in the field.

Sometimes, you hope the opponent will hassle you, since they can’t withstand you, and confronting you repeatedly can relieve your teammates. Sometimes, you just want the opponent to stay away so you can focus on your task.

The level of control over this aura seems to require a lot of self-reflection during matches.

Leader, Cornerstone, Core, Tough Guy.

Having seen these four auras, Chen Zhong turned his attention to the last one, the fifth aura, which reads: Golden Ball

[Golden Ball: You have won the Ballon d’Or, impacting the opponent’s players’ mindset and exerting pressure on them. (As the number of Golden Balls increases, the effect will strengthen.)]
