I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 682: Chapter 93: Brand-New System (Part 2)

Iniesta’s opinion is that the Ballon d’Or should select one player for each position, like Ballon d’Or Forward, Midfielder, Defender, and Goalkeeper.

This view was also agreed upon by Xavi and Aguero. At that time, Xavi echoed, ”That’s true, fans just like to see goals and dribbles. Few fans understand the role of players like Busquets, and everybody fails to give his efforts the recognition they deserve.”

Getting back to the point, when Aguero was interviewed, it was clear he wasn’t fully convinced about Chen Zhong winning the award, because before the ceremony, although there were rumors of Chen Zhong winning, there were also rumors of Iniesta and Xavi winning. Aguero at that time believed Iniesta or Xavi had a higher chance of winning.

After all, it was a World Cup year, but in the end, it was Chen Zhong who received the award.

Aguero, speaking to the camera, said, ”Messi and I initially thought one of his two teammates should win because they won the World Cup.”

”But in a World Cup year, with Chen winning this award, I don’t think everyone is satisfied because although Chen Zhong has awards that Xavi and Iniesta do not have, Xavi and Iniesta have the World Cup.”

The reporters, seeing Aguero’s long-winded speech, felt he was not getting to the point and asked him what he thought of the upcoming match against Real Madrid with its three Ballon d’Or winners.

Aguero understood what the reporters meant, and facing the inquiry, he stiffened his neck and said, ”Today’s Atletico Madrid is not the same Atlético as before, and I don’t think Real Madrid is stronger than us.”

”We are going to defeat Real Madrid in the King’s Cup and advance to the next round.”

Since Diego Simeone took over Atletico Madrid, the team has gradually shaken off its previous ”soft” atmosphere. Some call it iron-blooded, while others think it’s dirty, but either way, Atletico Madrid’s strength has improved.

Many people even believe that Diego Simeone will lead Atletico Madrid to rise.

After all, Aguero is still playing, and he’s quite young. If he were retired, no longer playing, and much older, he might even dare to say that if in the next match Chen Zhong can lead Real Madrid to beat us, he would cut off his own balls as a retort...

...

The outside commotion didn’t concern Chen Zhong; he focused more on the system’s updates.

The system is divided into four simple screens: Panel, Aura, Badge, and Specialization.

Chen Zhong first opened the Panel to check his data, and what appeared first was himself in a white jersey running from afar, followed by his personal identity data.

[Name: Chen Zhong]

[Nationality: China]

[Date of Birth: November 21, 1991]

[Height: 190CM]

[Weight: 91KG]

[Preferred Foot: Right Foot]

[Weak Foot: 4 Stars] (Specialization)

[Flair: 4 Stars] (Specialization)

Chen Zhong looked at his personal information, focusing on Weak Foot and Flair. When he first got the system, his Weak Foot was 1 Star, improved to 2 Stars after a year, and then to 3 Stars in 2006.

The start for Flair was quite similar, starting at 2 Stars, then rising to 3 Stars. However, whether it was Weak Foot or Flair, after several seasons and his own hard training, both had reached 4 Stars, which allowed Chen Zhong to perform some flair moves during matches and use his weaker foot for passing and shooting with a certain level of precision and power.

This time, Chen Zhong focused mainly on Specialization.

When he focused on it, a line of text explaining it appeared.

[Specialization, players can initiate specialized training and upon completion, they can gain improvements.]

Chen Zhong raised an eyebrow; when playing football video games, his favorite players were those with 5 Drain, 5 Weak traits. Flair could make his passing, dribbling, and other skills smoother, while Weak Foot balanced both feet, increasing the opponent’s defensive difficulty.

Before, he needed luck to improve Flair and Weak Foot, but now he could enhance them one-on-one through specialization.

This was a good thing...

Turning the page, what appeared next were the player’s personal attributes. Over the years with the system, Chen Zhong had somewhat understood the data breakdown.

A Comprehensive Ability of 40 allows playing in lower league competitions; it’s basically the ceiling an average person can reach, essentially stepping into the professional threshold.

A Comprehensive Ability of around 55 gives one a chance to join lower-tier Eredivisie teams, marking the bottleneck for most youth training.

A Comprehensive Ability of 60 is the minimum standard for major clubs’ youth training. After selections at various levels, players not reaching this standard are generally eliminated, with few being under 60.

A score exceeding 65 is enough to draw attention in youth training and could even make someone a regular player on a Premier League relegation team. A Comprehensive Ability of 70 with several single abilities over 80 marks one as a genius or a player with a special strength.

A score of above 75 makes one a star player for smaller teams, and reaching 80 can make one the core of a small or mid-range team, a regular for elite clubs, and above 85 indicates a top-tier player. A 90-plus score can be described as a superstar, and over 95 as a historical level or mega star.

Initially, Chen Zhong’s overall rating stood at 74 points, and through several seasons of tempering, it had now risen to 86 points.

There are seven categories in player attributes: Speed, Shooting, Passing, Ball Control, Defense, Physique, plus a goalkeeper’s special category.

[Inside the parenthesis is the current data, outside the original data.]

[Speed 72 (80): Acceleration 68 (79), Speed 77 (81)]

[Shooting 73 (86): Attack Positioning 72 (88), Finishing 70 (78), Shot Power 82 (92), Long Shots 77 (89), Volleys 74 (88), Penalties 62 (80)]

[Passing 66 (81): Vision 81 (91), Crossing 62 (73), Free Kick Accuracy 59 (81), Short Passing 67 (85), Long Passing 73 (84), Arc 54 (72)]

[Ball Control 71 (84): Agility 65 (69), Balance 87 (89), Reactions 85 (91), Ball Control 70 (78), Dribbling 69 (81), Composure 93 (95)]

[Defense 83 (92): Interception 75 (91), Heading Accuracy 86 (93), Defensive Awareness 87 (91), Standing Tackle 77 (88), Slide Tackle 90 (95)]

[Physique 78 (88): Jumping 71 (88), Stamina 72 (79), Strength 88 (96)]

Once highlighted by Balance, Reactions, Composure, Heading Accuracy, Defensive Awareness, Slide Tackle, and Strength, many of Chen Zhong’s weaknesses have now been addressed, while his strengths have become more pronounced.

Within these data, Chen Zhong can even find explanations for some particularly dramatic growth, like Jumping due to Cristiano Ronaldo, Strength from frequent physical confrontations in matches, and Interception from playing as a Defensive Midfielder for a time, enhancing his interception awareness.

For Vision, Arc, and Free Kicks, it’s essential to thank Beckham’s arc...

Taking his eyes off his personal data, Chen Zhong shifted his focus to the Aura, Badge, and Specialization sections, feeling these three could make him stronger, maybe even transcending historical standards.

He had experienced the advantages of Aura in the youth team; in front of the Butcher, most young players were timid, so what changes might it bring now?
