I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 657: Chapter 81: Yielding—Who Is the Real Boss?

In the locker room, everyone’s eyes were on Casillas.

Ever since the conflict with Cristiano Ronaldo was brought to light.

The overprotective husband, Casillas, hadn’t had a chance to confront the Portuguese when Cristiano Ronaldo went to seek help from Chen Zhong that very same day.

At that time, Chen Zhong’s performance had seemed a bit ”quiet,” still great, but not quite as impressive as last season.

Under the nagging of his ”darling wife,” Casillas developed some bad thoughts.

However, as the recent matches concluded, Casillas realized the gap between himself and Chen Zhong, though he still didn’t want to bow down. But with his ”friends” keeping their distance, and the obvious or subtle exclusion from various aspects, Casillas knew it was time to resolve this issue.

”It’s actually nothing,” Casillas said to himself in his mind. ”Just go and say hello to Chen, and then have a few words with Cristiano, that selfish guy.”

There were many reasons why Casillas didn’t want to ”apologize.” First, Cristiano Ronaldo had bluntly told him to manage his wife, which for a wife-crazy Casillas, was an offense. Who are you to point fingers at my wife?

Another reason was that Casillas himself thought his wife was not wrong either, and it was indeed some private talk between him and his wife; Cristiano Ronaldo was too selfish, wasted opportunities, and even had an embarrassing on-field clash with Higuain, competing for a position.

During that time, Casillas felt that there was nothing wrong with what he expressed. It was all truth.

Since it was all truth, was there a problem with that?

Even though Cristiano Ronaldo’s performance got increasingly stellar later on, that was indeed how he was back then, right? Including now, if he had a choice, Casillas still wouldn’t want to bow down, but he was already at ”a dead-end.”

”Chen,” Casillas greeted Chen Zhong with a smile. He didn’t discuss the issue with Cristiano Ronaldo. In his mind, since the Portuguese had spoken to Chen Zhong, and now he had also taken the initiative to speak to Chen Zhong, rounding up, this matter could be considered settled.

Most people in the locker room also got Casillas’ intentions, and their attention also focused on Chen Zhong. Now, as long as Chen Zhong responded to Casillas, it would mean the matter was settled.

Quietly settled.

Chen Zhong lifted his head, looking at Casillas with his bright smile. All he needed to do was smile and exchange a few words with Casillas, and that would be it.

But...

Why?

”Igor.” Casillas’ smile faded. He furrowed his brows slightly, feeling a bit uneasy, which Chen Zhong’s next words confirmed.

”I’ve been waiting for you to come and talk to me about what’s been going on between you and Cristiano.”

All the players in the locker room stopped what they were doing.

Ramos glanced at Casillas with a complicated look, Kaka sat up straighter and leaned closer to Chen Zhong, and Cristiano Ronaldo pursed his lips, thinking that the matter would simply be glossed over.

But now, seeing Chen Zhong’s attitude, it seemed he wanted to bring this issue to light?

That was Casillas...

”There’s nothing between him and me,” Casillas stiffened his neck and said bluntly, ”If anything, it’s that he’s overstepping.”

Casillas’ words implied Ronaldo privately messaged him, telling him to control his wife’s ”mouth,” and Casillas still believed he was not wrong.

Chen Zhong looked at the other players around them, realizing that players’ perceptions and cultural understanding can be quite ”bizarre.” You never know what kind of worldview their childlike brains have, what kind of actions they might take, or how ignorant and backward they might be.

In the football world, there might even be players who, just for fun, get involved in extortion and kidnapping...

Benzema: Just send me my ID card directly. Besides, hasn’t this matter not even happened yet?

Now, in the locker room, the players’ thoughts were also not unified, with even some believing that Casillas defending his wife was the right thing to do.

”You know what I’m talking about, Igor.”

Chen Zhong stood up, his tall stature exerting some pressure on Casillas, and this action also pulled other players’ scattered thoughts back together.

All eyes were once again focused on Chen Zhong.

”What happened now is no longer your personal issue, but an internal locker room matter.”

”Let’s recount what really happened at that time.”

Chen Zhong, with his right hand pointed at Casillas, interrupted him just as Casillas was about to speak up. Under the intimidation of Chen Zhong’s gaze, Casillas bit his lip, maintaining a stance of, let’s see what you have to say.

”I believe, Igor, that you are more aware than anyone about what kind of person your girlfriend is.”

”From the start of this season, including a professional player’s conduct, we all know what can be said and what cannot be said.”
