I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 653: Chapter 79: Do We Really Need a Center Forward? (Part 3)

After this yellow card warning, Getafe played a little more cautiously, but facing Real Madrid’s players, even the slightest retreat is like ”asking for death”.

In the 25th minute of the match, Chen Zhong and Di Maria engaged in a one-two pass, and after receiving the ball, Chen Zhong made a forceful turn, facing Getafe’s frontal tackle, and executed a Marseille Turn.

He stepped forward with clumsy dance moves, breaking into Getafe’s penalty area. After dodging the Getafe player’s block, he made a powerful shot, once again breaching Getafe’s goal.

0:2

Real Madrid scored another goal.

This match seemed to have lost any suspense.

Mourinho applauded Chen Zhong’s brilliant performance from the sidelines, and he couldn’t help but recall Florentino’s words when they chatted during Christmas.

”Do we really need a center forward?”

”Look at Barcelona, now look at Chen.”

”Last season, he was the European Golden Boot winner!”

”Maybe you can try getting him closer to the team.”

Mourinho couldn’t help thinking at the time, if he told Florentino that he wanted Chen Zhong to play as a center forward and needed reinforcements in the backfield, would he be able to get funds for new signings?

But Mourinho quickly abandoned the thought because he truly is a tactical master.

So, he wouldn’t allow himself to do something so wasteful.

Real Madrid’s backfield already satisfied him greatly; now, all that’s missing is a center forward like Didier Drogba.

Perhaps it could be worth trying to promote Morata or maybe Joselu?

Watching Chen Zhong perform so excellently, he couldn’t help but think of Morata in the second team and Joselu from Castilla.

After Chen Zhong’s goal, Getafe almost completely lost their fighting spirit. They parked the bus in front of the goal, and eventually, the first-half score stood at 0:2.

In the second half, Getafe played with an attitude of having nothing to strive for, and Real Madrid controlled the pace of the game. There were several excellent opportunities, but Benzema missed them all.

This made Mourinho once again turn his gaze to Chen Zhong.

In the 72nd minute of the match, Mourinho made substitutions, replacing Chen Zhong with Parejo and Alonso with Granero.

After all, in just two days, they would face Levante in the second leg of the King’s Cup, and he hoped Chen Zhong could be in perfect form.

As Chen Zhong came off the field, he hugged Granero and Parejo.

”Go for it!”

Granero and Parejo looked at Chen Zhong with happy faces.

Three or four years ago, their gap with Chen Zhong had widened to an immeasurable extent, unlike Chen Zhong, who was a core player of the team. They cherished every opportunity to play.

Parejo and Granero were both products of Real Madrid’s youth training and had played for Castilla.

Mourinho watched their performance from the sidelines and was genuinely surprised.

In the 80th minute of the match, Parejo, who had just come on, captured the crowd’s attention with a brilliant move past two players. After completing the dribble, he delivered a powerful shot from the left edge of the penalty area into the top left corner.

0:3

Parejo and Granero embraced each other, as it was Granero who made the pass to him.

When Parejo scored, many fans couldn’t help but think of a line.

Whose warrior is this, to be so brave?

Mourinho was also very excited on the sidelines, glancing at Benzema and then at Chen Zhong, as if contemplating something.

However, Benzema seemed to sense Mourinho’s gaze and, in the 89th minute of the match, assisted Cristiano Ronaldo in scoring with a low shot from 13 yards out. This was the Portuguese’s 20th league goal of the season.

0:4

After this goal, Mourinho also brought on Kaka to let him find his form, while Di Maria received applause from the fans as he left the field.

In the 93rd minute, Cristiano Ronaldo passed the ball, and Kaka burst into the box, firing a powerful shot from 16 yards, missing the top right corner.

0:5

Real Madrid achieved a five-goal victory at Getafe’s home, leaving Getafe with a stinging slap mark on their face.

Next, they will head to Levante’s home for the second leg of the King’s Cup.

Seeing such a mighty Real Madrid, Levante trembles with fear.
