I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 688: Chapter 1: Mr. Ballon d’Or

So this time when Chen Zhong got the ball, although he was somewhat unwilling, he still complied with Atletico Madrid’s strategy and passed the ball to Cristiano Ronaldo on the flank.

Diego Simeone smiled, as he didn’t believe Cristiano Ronaldo could perform well under their prepared defense, especially since Atletico Madrid’s players were already moving as Chen Zhong made the pass.

”Chen Zhong distributed the ball to the flank.”

”C. Ronaldo receives it.”

”In front of him, there are all Atletico Madrid’s defenders.”

”Will he pass it back?”

”What?”

”He forces a breakthrough!”

Almost everyone thought Cristiano Ronaldo would choose to pass back, even Chen Zhong assumed so. After all, with Atletico Madrid’s players already in position, it seemed the best choice for the Portuguese, not ”adept” at dribbling past opponents, to pass the ball.

However, the Portuguese did not conform to most people’s expectations of passing.

Instead, he glanced at Chen Zhong and resolutely chose to dribble forward, and he succeeded!

Of course, Atletico Madrid’s players were also successful. Although Cristiano Ronaldo forced through their defense and squeezed out from a three-man encirclement,

he had no opportunity to cut inside.

He could only barely pass the ball towards the center.

Benzema blocked Atletico Madrid’s returning defenders, and Chen Zhong, with the help of ”Sprinting” and ”Rush,” moved before Godin could and poked the ball away.

At that moment, the entire Santiago Bernabeu Stadium erupted with gasps from the fans.

And Diego Simeone was suddenly invigorated, having earlier underestimated Chen Zhong, but now that thought vanished.

”How is this possible!”

”How did he get the ball!”

”He was so slow!”

In Diego Simeone’s mind, a million questions swirled, but no one told him that Chen Zhong was a man with cheats, with ”Sprinting” and ”Rush,” enhancing his start speed and first touch with badge cheats.

Thus, he could only watch as the previously slow Chen Zhong, in his mind, moved a step faster than he expected, turning an impossible attack into an offensive chance.

”C. Ronaldo!”

”Facing a three-man encirclement.”

”Forces a breakthrough to cross.”

”Chen Zhong reacted quickly.”

”Benzema!”

”Chen Zhong!”

”Got past Godin!”

”One-on-one!”

”De Gea!”

”Too slow!”

The initial start of Chen Zhong and his first touch was amazing, very fast, but on the second touch, it was as if he slowed down suddenly.

Godin was thinking to himself.

It’s over; how is this guy just like a speed-type winger, with his first step and touch like a rocket.

But after the second step, it was all revealed!

This allowed De Gea, who rushed out to intervene, to catch the ball just in time.

Chen Zhong, to avoid kicking anyone, made a huge leap over this genius whose half value was kicked by his heavy shot.

”Ahhhhhhh~” De Gea made a lateral dive to secure the ball, shouting loudly as he jumped up after Chen Zhong leaped over him.

From his flushed face, one could see his excitement.

Chen!

Chen Zhong!

You jinx!

Back then, one heavy shot from you took half my value, shattered my spirit, and labeled me with butterfingers.

Facing you, I’ve never had it easy!

But now!

Today, I will tell you, I am different now, I have grown!

I seized the ball before you!

At this moment, De Gea felt his confidence brim, looking at Chen Zhong, standing tall, feeling immensely powerful!

”Huh.” Chen Zhong chuckled at De Gea, not paying much heed to this ”kid’s” performance, even recalling when he intercepted an opponent’s shot together with Van Nistelrooy during a practice match.

When the opponent looked at him with a roar, if it felt the same as he does now watching De Gea’s roar.

And that is...

Clown...

”Amazing!” In Atletico Madrid’s defensive system, even the center forward has defensive tasks, allowing Aguero to come over and give De Gea a hug: ”This intervention was perfect.”

”I’m feeling very good now.”

”I will block all his shots.”

”You think he’s scared?”

”Definitely!” Aguero and De Gea can be said to have always lived in Chen Zhong’s shadow, the troubled brothers of Atletico Madrid, feeling a surge in confidence as De Gea started the game with this bright note: ”He must be terrified by now.”

Chen Zhong: Huh, clown.

...

”Well done!” Chen Zhong gave Ronaldo a thumbs up while running back, patting Benzema on the shoulder as he passed him, then looked at Marcelo and shouted: ”Marcelo, show your skills.”

Although the game had only begun three minutes, Chen Zhong had realized Atletico Madrid’s tight defense in the middle.

At least while they had full stamina, breaking through their center was a difficult and unrewarding task. As the team’s captain and central organization core, he decided the team’s next attack direction should be on the left wing.

After all, Real Madrid’s left wing had Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo.

Marcelo, hearing Chen Zhong’s call, beamed and signaled back with a punch.

”Atletico Madrid’s attack.”

”Though Atletico Madrid’s small area coordination was decent.”

”Facing Real Madrid, it clearly didn’t have much effect.”

”Khedira intercepted the ball.”

Mourinho had ”predicted” Atletico Madrid’s attacking style before the match, and Atletico Madrid’s simplistic mode of attack struggled against a prepared Real Madrid.

Even Chen Zhong didn’t need to act; Khedira had already ”ended” Atletico Madrid’s attack.

The ball came to Chen Zhong’s feet, who directly passed it to Marcelo moving from behind.

Atletico Madrid’s players held their position and didn’t act rashly.

But Marcelo quickly showed them what ”recklessness” means!

”Real Madrid’s attack.”

”Chen Zhong returned the ball to Marcelo.”

”Marcelo takes it!”

”Breakthrough!”

”Beautiful!”

”He dribbled past two players in succession.”

”If only his defensive abilities were half as good as his offensive skills.”

”The ball is passed to the center.”

”Benzema!”

”Return pass!”

The legacy of a big club was fully displayed at this moment, with every player being exceptional, even Marcelo, this ”controversial” player, when dribbling past Atletico Madrid players, seemed as calm as a leisurely stroll, showcasing dribbling skills not inferior to typical wingers.

Diego Simeone’s veins pulsed with agitation.

No way!

Cristiano Ronaldo is understandable.

But you!

Marcelo, how dare you!

Watching Marcelo create chaos on the left wing, Diego Simeone wished to jump into the field himself, but as his midfielders moved closer, Marcelo passed the ball.

To Benzema!

And when the Atletico Madrid players near Benzema moved to surround him,

Benzema selflessly played the role of a facilitator, returning the ball to the forward-moving Chen Zhong.

As Chen Zhong took possession, the fear of Chen Zhong’s heavy strike, ingrained from their first meeting, resurfaced in De Gea’s mind.

Atletico Madrid’s players swarmed towards Chen Zhong like a tide, forming a ”wall of flesh” in front of him.

In such a situation, Chen Zhong remained completely calm, raised his foot, and then...

A slip pass~

The ball threaded through the gaps among Atletico Madrid players. Cristiano Ronaldo, just outside the penalty area, executed a trick-like flick over the defender and, with a turn, faced the goal.

”The forward-moving Chen Zhong received the ball.”

”Atletico Madrid’s players quickly pressed near.”

”He takes a shot!”

”Beautiful through ball!”

”C. Ronaldo!”

”Juggling past the defender!”

”Outside the penalty area!”

”Will he take the shot?”

”Goes for the shot directly!”
