I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 500: Chapter 5: Who Is the Mole? (2)

Mourinho started jumping around in the locker room, mocking Özil’s way of playing.

This made the German lose his cool completely. Özil’s last bit of sanity disappeared as he threw his jersey at the coach, ”If you think you play so well, then you take my place!”

The look in Özil’s eyes was full of hatred as he stared at Mourinho.

Mourinho was clearly taken aback.

Who was he?

The top coach who won the Champions League twice.

The man who just led Inter Milan to the Triple Crown last season.

But now?

Did this kid dare to challenge him face to face?

Turning to look at the other players in the locker room, Mourinho gave a ”ferocious” smile.

He pointed at Özil and said, ”You coward, are you just going to take a shower and call it a day? You’re a coward, we don’t need you!”

”Get out! Go take your shower!”

”You’re not playing.”

...

Özil didn’t play in the second half, and the team suffered a crushing defeat, which brought a rush of satisfaction to Özil’s heart. He kept sneaking glances at Mourinho, silently thinking, ”You don’t understand me, none of you understand me, no one here understands me.”

Actually, Özil admired Mourinho, but at that moment, he truly hated Mourinho. Even later, when reflecting on his miserable football career, he couldn’t help but write, ”Although I admire Mourinho in real life, at that time, I hated him.”

”If his tone had been better, maybe many things wouldn’t have happened.”

”The team wouldn’t have lost, and I wouldn’t have become like this.”

The Özil of 2010 was absolutely in high spirits.

Thanks to his outstanding performance in the World Cup, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United, and other teams extended offers to him.

Originally, Özil wanted to go to Barcelona.

After all, Barcelona’s ”Six Crown” was indeed enticing, and Barcelona’s style of football was what Özil loved. He even said many times, ”No team can play football like Barcelona.”

However, the proud Özil was dissatisfied with Guardiola’s attitude.

When he began contacting Barcelona, the team’s coach, Guardiola, never attended any of the meetings with the club.

This made Özil feel discontent.

He even inquired about the reason for Guardiola’s absence, and upon learning it was because he was on vacation and didn’t want to discuss work matters, Özil’s dissatisfaction intensified.

He expressed to his agent and even to Barcelona, ”I really hope to sign with Barcelona, but Guardiola’s attitude makes me feel neglected, and my enthusiasm has waned.”

Then, turning to his agent, he said, ”I want to go to Real Madrid, Mourinho’s attitude towards me is very warm, and I believe I can make my mark there.”

But at this moment, Özil’s attitude changed.

Because Chen Zhong was now playing the position he played in the last match, Özil’s mind began to have other thoughts.

”He values me so much.”

”Does he want me to replace Chen?”

”It must be so, my position is now being played by Chen.”

Looking at things from different angles can lead to different understandings and experiences.

Özil felt much better upon seeing Mourinho’s arrangement, after all, everyone knows what status Chen Zhong holds at Real Madrid, and he was playing Chen Zhong’s position, isn’t that enough to say it all?

After explaining the tactics in the locker room, Mourinho glanced at Özil, whose expression had softened, using the corner of his eye, and found it amusing.

He indeed had high expectations for Özil, considering he had been the assist king in his league for three consecutive seasons.

Additionally, his abilities shown in the World Cup had truly impressed Mourinho.

However, when compared to Chen Zhong, in terms of versatility or character, there were too many differences.

Özil would give a look of blame toward his teammates after losing the ball, blushing while providing negative emotions, like an old man, disliking excessive running and effort.

But Chen Zhong, after losing the ball, would immediately go for a counter-tackle, loudly rallying morale, tightly uniting everyone around him.

...

The next day

Mourinho gathered the players once more.

His gaze swept over every player’s face like a knife.

Fresh newspapers littered the ground, and Mourinho shouted angrily, ”Who did it? It’s best to stand up like a man.”

”I need a reasonable explanation.”

”Why is it that after just one night, others already know our starting lineup?”

Mourinho carefully scrutinized each player, seeming to want to see through their exterior and understand their inner thoughts and buried secrets.

Özil’s mouth slightly curled up, watching the raging Mourinho brought him pleasure, while being curious about who leaked the information.

Bear in mind, during Mourinho’s first meeting with the players, he emphasized the importance of keeping information confidential.

But now...

Casillas swallowed hard, evidently reminiscing about last night’s passion, and looking at the exposed Mourinho, he glanced at Chen Zhong, his eyes seeming to say.

Is this coach so ”arrogant,” must we watch him act so recklessly?

Even Cristiano Ronaldo frowned as he watched Mourinho.

Both their agents were Mendes, logically Cristiano Ronaldo was to support Mourinho, but Mourinho’s first act upon arrival was to force him and Pique to ”break off,” which made Cristiano Ronaldo dissatisfied.

And now he’s here shouting.

Remember, in front of you are not mere kids, but stars!

Real Madrid’s team history is rich with Champions League wins, and last season they were just one step from the finals.

Furthermore, they had won the La Liga title and the King’s Cup, a legitimate Double Crown.

To put it bluntly...

Before you came, we were already champions.

Kaka raised his head and glanced at Mourinho, his brows slightly furrowed as he clearly felt uneasy about Mourinho’s attitude.

Mourinho’s gaze finally rested on Chen Zhong, as he spoke, ”Chen, I’ve heard of you.”

”We’ve had pleasant conversations during these days.”

”I recognize your achievements at your age and your importance to the team.”

Mourinho calmed his emotions, realizing his shouts wouldn’t solve anything. Seeing the players’ gazes made him swiftly adjust his mindset, understanding that the challenges he faced at Real Madrid would be unprecedented.

Before him were not just inexperienced rookies, but stars! Even superstars.

”Today’s matter.”

”Will end here.”

”But I hope there’s no second time.”

”Can I trust you, Chen?” Mourinho looked at Chen Zhong, directly throwing the question at him. Chen Zhong looked at Mourinho, feeling touched.

He glanced around and said, ”I trust my teammates.”

”They wouldn’t do such a thing.”

”If they did it, I would find out.”

Casillas swallowed hard, while the other players were pleased by Chen Zhong’s trust.

In fact, calling friends before matches is normal. Previously, Negredo and Mata, when at Almeria and Valencia, would talk over the phone before games.

They just understood what should and shouldn’t be said.

Inside, Chen Zhong sincerely didn’t believe it was the locker room players who leaked it, as everyone lacked nothing and should also have professional ethics.

He felt it might be some staff member or other channels of information.

After all, Real Madrid’s news always attracts significant attention.

Mourinho evidently thought of this too, his demeanor became much more relaxed.

This little incident seemed to pass on the surface.

Except in Mourinho’s notebook, a line was added...

The meaning is: ”Who is the mole?”
