I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 475: Chapter 88: 40 Goals! A Stunning Comeback! (Part 2)

Perhaps even without spending 300 million Euros this season, they would have had enough strength to reach this stage.

The media seems not to have affected Real Madrid, at least by the fifth-to-last round of the league, Real Madrid still performed steadily, albeit with occasional fluctuations, but still defeated Zaragoza with a score of 1:4.

And in this match, Chen Zhong also successfully scored his 40th league goal.

After scoring twice, he refreshed his tally to 41 goals.

His outstanding state has left many people in awe.

After this round of matches, Barcelona only has a theoretical chance of winning the title.

Real Madrid only needs to win two more league matches to secure the league title!

At the post-match press conference, Pellegrini faced the cameras and said, ”We have no problems.”

”We lost to Bayern Munich, but we have a valuable away goal.”

”I don’t think we’ve completely lost our chance to advance.”

This statement can be said to be the most assertive Pellegrini has been in front of the cameras in recent times.

After a period of rest, Chen Zhong was fully recharged, and in this match, he was omnipotent.

Chen Zhong undoubtedly became the MVP of the match, and in the post-match interview, someone asked his views on the second leg of the semi-finals.

When someone mentioned that no team has ever come back from a four-goal deficit after the first leg in a Champions League semi-final, Chen Zhong’s smile disappeared.

”Bayern Munich is a great club.”

”Since the beginning of this season, we have been underestimated by various people.”

”They thought we would be suppressed in the competition with Barcelona, but in fact.”

”We’ve already reached the final of the King’s Cup, we’re at the top of the league, and in the Champions League, both we and Barcelona have reached the semi-finals.”

”In the two direct confrontations, we have one win and one draw.”

”Last season, Barcelona unprecedentedly won the Triple Crown, I think we have the opportunity to achieve this honor too.”

”Yes, Bayern Munich currently has a four-goal advantage.”

”But we are Real Madrid.”

”The next match is at the Bernabeu.”

”In Real Madrid’s dictionary, there are never the words to give up.”

”I assure you, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, we will give it our all, we will bet everything for this jersey.”

Chen Zhong did not evade the question but stood tall, looking resolutely at the camera, he did not speak of Bayern Munich’s taunts at him, he just looked at the camera and, as the captain of Real Madrid, told everyone.

They will not yield!

They will fight back vigorously.

They still yearn for victory.

This statement also received the support of Real Madrid fans, some even shouted slogans such as, ”To the Bernabeu!” ”We want to fight with Chen!”

Originally dispirited fans who thought the team had no hope of reaching the finals also began to look forward to a stunning comeback.

Meanwhile, major media outlets began writing headlines like ”The Captain of Real Madrid Issues a Battle Command,” ”Bernabeu Comeback? Is Bayern Munich Ready?” ”Chen: We Will Not Give Up on Entering the Finals!”

Even the Catalonia media did not stir trouble at this time, although they used some articles to criticize Real Madrid when they were soundly defeated by Bayern Munich.

But that was because Barcelona also lost 3:1 to Inter Milan, and Madrid media also criticized them as a result.

The Inter Milan led by Mourinho gave Barcelona a thrashing at the San Siro Stadium, a match full of controversy and a clash of football philosophies, which even brought some people, in their minds, down from the pedestal off which Barcelona had placed themselves.

It should be known that at the beginning of the season, Barcelona was referred to by many as the Cosmic Team.

It seemed the whole Spanish Football, only Barcelona was the most formidable!

Even if Real Madrid spent a huge 300 million euros to bring in two Ballon d’Or winners and a squad of talented players, even if Chen Zhong returned to the Bernabeu from Milan.

They were still seen by many as the weaker side.

And this reached its peak after Barcelona achieved the ”six crowns.”

But as the season nears its end, Barcelona in both matches against Real Madrid achieved one loss and one draw, exited early from the King’s Cup, trailed Real Madrid in the league, and in the Champions League semi-finals, lost the first leg by two goals.

This suddenly awakened many of the ”champion fans.”

Chen Zhong sounded the trumpet of a ”stunning counterattack,” getting support from the Spanish media, in European competitions, they certainly support their own.

But when this trumpet blew over to Germany, over to Munich, everything started to become different.

German media called Chen Zhong an obstruction at Real Madrid, a cancer, even using previous Spanish media articles to attack Chen Zhong, suggesting Chen Zhong was ”harming the team with goals.”

A columnist even wrote: ”Chen occupies too much of the team’s shooting opportunities, leading the team, in the absence of him, to seemingly not know how to attack, it should be known that Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka were once the top scorers in their respective teams.”

They completely ignored the fact Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a serious injury at the season start, Kaka was sidelined for three months, and also ignored the fatigue of Real Madrid with three matches a week, blaming Real Madrid’s first-leg performance on Chen Zhong.

At the same time, they labeled Chen Zhong as a ”stat padder,” causing many Bayern Munich fans to believe that Chen Zhong was just a ”despicable person” who only scores against weaker teams.

Of course, there were those who stood up for Chen Zhong.

Robben, not knowing what he would face after reuniting, spoke about his interactions with Chen Zhong during a pre-match interview.

Facing the camera, Robben laughed like an old man, nostalgically saying, ”Chen is a very interesting, hardworking person, he can be highly reliable, everyone likes him.”

”During training, he is very diligent; during games, he works very hard; in life, he gives a strong sense of dependence.”

”I once had a very famous photo with him, me and my mount.”

”For me, it was an extremely memorable experience.”

Many people have seen that photo.

Robben sitting on Chen Zhong’s shoulders, with a bright and sunny smile, his supposedly mature face seemed much younger, only Chen Zhong, who was being ridden by Robben, didn’t seem too happy.

As Robben spoke of this, he slightly regretted saying, ”It’s really a shame, I originally wanted to have such a celebration with him again, but we never got the chance.”

In the second season, Chen Zhong left for the Apennines, joining Milan on loan.

In the third season, Robben was kicked out, heading to Munich, Germany, joining Bayern Munich.

The two people were ”destined” not to reunite, which for Robben, was evidently a regretful thing.

Chen Zhong watched Reobben’s this entire interview on television, he deeply recalled the feeling of being ridden on the neck that day, making his smile a few degrees ”warmer.”

And in the evening, Robben even specifically called Chen Zhong.

”Chen!”

”Did you see the interview?”

”I really miss the days when we played together.”

”Really?” Chen Zhong said with a sarcastic smile: ”I really miss it too!”

”I really look forward to the match coming soon, then I’ll be sure to properly entertain you.”

The conversation ended with cheerful laughter from both.

Whenever Robben thought of everything he endured, he would happily say: ”I have no issues with Chen; we always privately said we must treat matches with full strength.”
