I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 474: Chapter 88: 40 Goals! A Stunning Counterattack!

Valencia’s Villa, publicly declared before the match that Chen Zhong was occupying Real Madrid’s ”resources” and that his goals were against ”mediocre” players. He also stated he had no interest in joining Real Madrid, as he didn’t want his goals to be ”stolen”. However, in just nine minutes of this match, Real Madrid showed Valencia what it means to ”speak cautiously”.

It also made Villa ponder whether according to his standards, he himself was ”mediocre”.

The final score was frozen at 7-1.

Mata scored a face-saving goal for Valencia in the dying moments, and Real Madrid’s big win filled the fans with anticipation for the upcoming Champions League semi-finals.

Many fans even began to softly chant for a Triple Crown.

At the post-match press conference, a rosy-faced Pellegrini proudly told the media, ”I am certain we are the best Real Madrid in history, and we are in our best form.”

”We have performed extremely well in all competitions.”

”Perhaps, the fans can start thinking about that particular thing!”

Pellegrini’s words stirred up excitement among the journalists, who were well aware of what Pellegrini was referring to.

Is Spain about to witness the birth of another ”Triple Crown”?

Of course, Barcelona’s fans have always hoped for the worst for Real Madrid. They hoped Bayern Munich could deliver a heavy blow to Real Madrid on their home turf.

Who knows if their prayers worked?

On April 22, 2010, in the first leg of the Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid match.

Real Madrid, missing Chen Zhong, looked somewhat ”at a loss” against Bayern Munich, conceding two goals in the first half.

The goals were scored by ”Real Madrid’s discard” Robben, who transferred to Bayern Munich this season. Robben faced Casillas twice one-on-one, once striking the far corner, and once lobbing, both resulting in goals.

After scoring, he celebrated wildly.

Casillas stood in place, looking somewhat dejected, while his eyes were fixed on Robben. He silently swore in his heart, if we meet in the upcoming World Cup, I definitely won’t let you score so easily one-on-one!

I will definitely come out to save it!

Real Madrid used the 442 formation in this match.

The front combination of Negredo and Higuain seemed lost in the face of Bayern Munich’s iron defense, and the midfield pairing of Alonso and Pirlo could not benefit from Bayern Munich’s ”iron blood” and ”rigor”.

Shortly after the start of the second half, Bayern Munich scored again.

The scar on Ribery’s face appeared more grim, smiling as he hugged Robben, while the Bayern Munich fans in the stands celebrated loudly.

Some even sang, ”Where is your Chen? Where is Chen?”

Eventually, the score was frozen at 5-1.

As the match was about to end, Kaka created a penalty in the box, which Cristiano Ronaldo converted, slightly saving the team’s face.

After the match, major media outlets reported on this crushing defeat, with some believing Real Madrid had become reliant on Chen, and without him, it was like losing their spirit. Others thought Pellegrini’s strategy for this match was wrong, as Pirlo didn’t contribute to offense, organization, or defense on the field.

Many felt that signing Pirlo in the summer transfer window seemed like a mistake for Real Madrid; Pirlo needs someone to support him.

Clearly, Real Madrid’s midfield core wasn’t him.

It was Chen Zhong.

Outside the stadium, Bayern Munich’s fans were also grinning, with some even joking in front of cameras, ”Chen?”

”Where is Chen?”

”I can’t see him!”

”Yes, yes, he scored a lot of goals.”

”But they’re going home.”

This crushing defeat against Bayern Munich also stirred negative sentiments towards Real Madrid, clearly manipulated by an invisible hand.

For example, Wenger, coaching Arsenal in the Premier League, recently revealed that he might receive a significant amount of funds this summer, and in an interview, he expressed that if Real Madrid has unwanted players, he would like to buy them.

To anyone who saw the interview, it was clear that Wenger was speaking jokingly, but in the newspapers, it appeared more as if Wenger was ”mocking” Real Madrid’s transfers this season.

As we know, Sneijder and Robben, whom Real Madrid sold at low prices, are performing excellently at Inter Milan and Bayern Munich, respectively. Robben even scored twice in the just-concluded semi-final first leg.

Inter Milan and Bayern Munich both reached the Champions League final four.

Wenger, jokingly, said he would consider acquiring cost-effective players from Real Madrid, which, after being ”embellished,” became truly odd—how could Real Madrid let go of players like Sneijder and Robben, and also released Raul and Guti, who performed so well at their new clubs!
