I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 487: Chapter 94: Roles Reversed, Seizing the Initiative!

When a team gradually takes control of the rhythm in a football match, it’s not always a good thing.

Bayern Munich’s coach Van Gaal clearly realized this.

He was eager to make a substitution to delay time and disrupt Real Madrid’s offensive rhythm, yet Real Madrid maintained very stable ball control.

They could always find the right way to handle the ball.

The ball, in its back-and-forth passing, would eventually come to Chen Zhong’s feet, and as a midfielder who can pass, shoot, and even dribble, he was definitely the one who gave all defenders a headache.

”Bayern Munich is attempting a scorched-earth tactic.”

”They are eager to break Real Madrid’s rhythm.”

”But Real Madrid’s ball control is very stable.”

”They’re still controlling the ball.”

Bayern Munich’s intent was so obvious, Chen Zhong naturally couldn’t miss it, and the opponent’s impatience inadvertently gave Chen Zhong some inspiration.

Originally, Bayern Munich’s defense was systematic and organized, but when they started to become ”impatient,” some flaws would inevitably appear.

When facing top teams, it’s all about which side can make fewer mistakes and seize their opportunities.

In the first half, Real Madrid performed very well in this aspect, with Chen Zhong always calmly positioning himself correctly, then spotting Bayern Munich’s fleeting gaps.

When facing Schweinsteiger’s pressing, Chen Zhong keenly noticed the large open space behind Schweinsteiger, something rare for most of the match.

But Bayern Munich’s recent pressure caused their players to be out of position, meaning that if he could get past Schweinsteiger, Bayern Munich could very likely give him the space to advance due to mispositioning.

Like a thorn stuck in the palm, making it difficult for Bayern Munich to handle.

This was clearly due to Van Gaal’s underestimation of his personal breakthrough and advancement abilities.

Chen Zhong tightened the muscles in his thighs, his cleats tearing away a large patch of turf as he launched a counter-charge against Schweinsteiger’s full sprint.

This scene shocked Schweinsteiger, causing him to slow down his pace, as no one knew what would happen if they collided head-on with Chen Zhong, but it certainly wouldn’t be pleasant.

Of course, Chen Zhong wouldn’t use such a crude, brute-force collision; if he preferred such collisions, he might as well choose to be a rugby player instead of a soccer player.

”Chen Zhong is moving forward with the ball.”

”Schweinsteiger’s interception.”

”Beautiful!”

”Marseille Turn!”

As the two were about to collide and Schweinsteiger began ”protecting” himself, Chen Zhong used a Marseille Turn to get past Schweinsteiger.

The Marseille Turn is a dribbling technique involving alternating step-overs with both feet followed by a 180-degree spin while pulling the ball.

It was first used by Rodrigens, brought to the European stage by Ronaldo, and then popularized by Zidane, making the move well-known.

Initially, fans named the move ”Zidane Spin,” but Zidane refused to have the move named after him, so fans named it after Zidane’s birthplace—Marseille.

When Chen Zhong executed this signature move of Real Madrid’s legendary midfielder during the match, the stands erupted once again.

In the VIP room where Zidane was watching the match with Florentino, Zidane couldn’t help but smile.

Listening to the cheers of the fans in the stadium, a glint of nostalgia flashed in his eyes, remembering the days when he enjoyed the fans’ cheers on the field.

Compared to Zidane’s enjoyment, Van Gaal’s face showed shock.

From a bird’s-eye perspective, Chen Zhong now faced a wide-open field with countless possibilities.

The Real Madrid fans in the stands shouted with excitement, knowing that if they scored another goal, they could proudly walk into the finals!

In a showdown for the ”Triple Crown” against Inter Milan at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

”Stop him!”

”Don’t let him!”

”Watch him! Watch him!!!”

The Bayern Munich fans shouted with all their might, trying to disrupt Chen Zhong, but none of it affected Chen Zhong.

With determined steps, Chen Zhong pushed forward, as Schweinsteiger, struggling to get up from the ground, attempted to catch up but needed time.

At this moment, Chen Zhong was like a massive hammer smashing the solid goal.

”Chen Zhong continues to advance with the ball!”

”Bayern Munich’s players attempt to stop him!”

”Will he choose to continue dribbling or pass it out?”

”No!”

”Neither!”

”He’s winding up his leg!”

Chen Zhong had three choices ahead of him: continue dribbling to see if he could squeeze through the ”gate” of Bayern Munich.

Or distribute the ball to the left or right, where Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka were already in position, poised to strike!

The final option was...

A glint of determination flashed in Chen Zhong’s eyes as he knocked the ball forward, then took a run-up.

His powerful right thigh swung.

Striking hard at the ball.

”Boom!”

The muffled sound was like a sledgehammer hitting Bayern Munich players’ chests.

The ball, at lightning speed, shot through the gaps between them.

Roaring towards Bayern Munich’s goal.

People’s eyes turned to Hans But, the Bayern Munich’s number one goalkeeper, who was excellently positioned.

Faced with Chen Zhong’s heavy cannon shot, he made a move to save.

”Chen Zhong!”

”Shoots directly from outside the penalty area.”

”A super heavy cannon shot at the goal.”

Hans But joined his hands, trying to deflect the ball in front of his goal.

The palms made full contact with the ball, which changed direction and slipped out of his control again.

”Not good!” Hans But exclaimed silently in his heart, craning his neck to watch the ball change course and fly into the net...

In the 69th minute of the match.

Real Madrid, with Chen Zhong’s long-range shot from outside the penalty area, again broke through Bayern Munich’s goal.

The total score turned to 5:5!

If the score remains like this.

Real Madrid can eliminate Bayern Munich by virtue of the advantage of away goals and successfully advance to the final!

The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium was instantly overwhelmed by cheers, with Real Madrid fans in the stands waving their right arms and shouting loudly.

Pellegrini on the sidelines was also punching the air repeatedly, looking very excited!

Van Gaal’s face turned visibly red, listening to the cheers of the fans and watching Chen Zhong run to the corner flag to celebrate, hearing everyone chanting that person’s name.

At that moment, Van Gaal felt his blood boiling!

How could he lose to this kid!

”It’s a goal!”

”It’s a goal!”

”Chen Zhong scores twice!”

”When the match reached a stalemate.”

”He took responsibility and changed the situation with a perfect breakthrough in the middle.”

”Finally, with a super long shot, he broke through Bayern Munich’s goal!”

”4:0”

”Total score 5:5”

”If this score continues, Real Madrid will advance to the Champions League final at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium!”

”We can see the joyful expressions on the faces of the Real Madrid fans in the stands!”

After scoring, Chen Zhong immediately ran towards the corner flag, knowing that Real Madrid had now taken the initiative!

If previously Bayern Munich wanted to run out the clock!

Now it was Real Madrid wanting to run out more time, as they had gained the upper hand!

And at this subtle point in time, it was also the most testing moment for both players and coaches.

Chen Zhong, panting heavily, performed 7 different celebration actions in succession, including jumping, fist pumping, ear cupping, roaring, and kissing the team badge.

Until the Bayern Munich players continued to protest so much that the referee couldn’t take it anymore, and came over, saying, ”Chen! You’ve spent too much time celebrating, you need to return to the match.”

Only then did Chen Zhong reluctantly return to the field.

”Time is running out for Bayern Munich.”

”They must find a way to attack.”

”Find a way to break through Real Madrid’s goal.”

”And now Real Madrid can fully play a defensive counterattack.”

”They have already taken the initiative in the match.”

”Haha, we can see, the referee is urging Chen Zhong now.”

”Chen Zhong has turned naughty too!”

”But this is also the correct tactic.”

”There’s nothing to criticize.”

In football, when time runs out and a team has the advantage, this kind of delaying tactic is very common.

A well-known example is when Arsenal, for the sake of an unbeaten record, protected the ball in the final moments of a match, which even led to a player kicking someone in frustration due to sideline ball protection.

Chen Zhong’s celebration is just a normal procedure!

”Bayern Munich made a substitution adjustment.”

”Mario Gomez is on the field.”

”They also took Thomas Muller off.”

”And replaced him with Klose.”

”Intending to play with two center forwards.”

Mario Gomez is a German center forward nicknamed ”Super Mario,” standing at 189CM tall, with strong positioning awareness and good heading ability.

Miroslav Klose, nicknamed ”K God,” is adept at heading and backflips, also known as a player honored with ”Saint” in front of his name by fans, although he stands at only 184CM, his excellent jumping ability makes his aerial and heading skills impressive. He always finds the right opportunity to score beautiful goals.

He once was:

The 2006 World Cup Golden Boot winner

The 2002 World Cup Silver Boot winner

And is a strong contender for the historical top scorer in the World Cup...

The appearance of these two players also represented Van Gaal’s ”all-in” strategy.
