At the same time, inside the General Mansion at Tongshan Pass in Beiyuan Town.

A personal follower quickly approached Duan Qifeng and whispered a few words into his ear.

After hearing the message, Duan Qifeng’s face turned ashen.

”These idiots, do they not have brains?”

He slammed his hand onto the table, cursing loudly.

”Sir, Wang Bin and his son have already seen the long swords, and I presume they’ve become suspicious!” the follower whispered.

Duan Qifeng paced back and forth in the room, his eyes flashing with a fierce light.

”Send them a message, tell them to wipe out Iron Origin Guard as soon as possible, or else they can forget about getting anything from Beiyuan Town!”

”Yes!” The follower responded and hurried off.

Inside the room, Duan Qifeng continued to brood with a grim face for a long time, then he left the front office of the General Mansion and headed to the courtyard at the back.

In a separate building in the backyard of the General Mansion, in a warm room, a woman in a gossamer robe sat on a soft couch, gently stroking a white cat.

The woman had a delicate face and a voluptuous figure, her black hair loosened and tied merely with a red ribbon, her phoenix eyes enchanting, exuding an indescribable allure, and her lips as red as cherries, sparking boundless reverie.

Duan Qifeng hastened over and upon seeing the charming woman, the grimness on his face eased considerably.

The woman looked up at him, her voice soft and seductive, ”What’s wrong, Sir? You don’t look well.”

Duan Qifeng sat next to her on the soft couch, pulling her into his embrace, ”Those Hu Zei are becoming more and more audacious, if this continues, it might bring disaster!”

”Uh-huh!” The woman softly hummed, asking, ”What happened?”

”They actually took the long swords we sold them to Iron Origin Guard!” Duan Qifeng said gravely.

The woman remained calm, laughing, ”They’re not just getting audacious, they’re trying to put you in a death trap!”

”What do you mean?” Duan Qifeng frowned.

”Sir, you’ve given the Wuliang Hu Clan too many things, which not only enhanced their strength but also inflated their ambitions!”

”Perhaps they feel strong enough to breach the defenses of Beiyuan Town!”

Upon hearing this, Duan Qifeng’s expression turned extremely grim.

”These ungrateful wretches!”

”Sir need not worry, if the Wuliang Hu Clan wants a war, then we’ll give them a war!”

The woman’s face lit up with a shallow smile, her eyes seductive, ”Once the battle starts, the issue with Iron Origin Guard won’t be a big problem anymore. Even if Wang Bin reports it, the court would not change generals at such a time!”

Duan Qifeng, still somewhat apprehensive, said, ”But after the war, the court might settle scores!”

The woman laughed, ”A war always lasts a year or half, in all that time, can’t you eliminate the traces?”

”When the time comes, you just have to deny everything. If you’re still uneasy, perhaps prepare a scapegoat in advance!”

Duan Qifeng’s eyes brightened, ”Haha, my wife is truly wise. With this, the court can neither charge me nor can avoid granting me my rewards.”

The woman smiled, ”Exactly, and we can also seize the opportunity to capture some more blood food. How much blood food do you think we can get from a war?”

Duan Qifeng’s smile grew broader, ”Capturing a few hundred Postnatal Martial Artists shouldn’t be a problem.”

”But Postnatal Martial Artists alone won’t satisfy my appetite, I want an Innate Martial Artist, or even a Half-step Innate will do!”

The woman flicked her tongue across her lips, a gesture that stirred Duan Qifeng’s desires.

”Alright, alright, when the time comes I will definitely capture some formidable blood food for my wife!”

As he spoke, Duan Qifeng pressed her down beneath him.

The woman giggled, ”Sir, don’t be so eager, it itches~~”

”Giggles~~”

For a while, the room echoed with soft moans and delightful chirps, stirring the senses.

...

In the southeast of the Wuliang Hu Clan territory, the Kelie clan settlement.

The Kelie clan settlement, also known as the domain of King Liang, belongs to King Liang of the Wuliang Royal Court, and this King Liang is the former Assistant General Cui Liang from the West Road of Chongshan Town.

Yang Zhenshan burned a hundred thousand troops at Guanshan Pass, among which seventy thousand were Northern barbarian cavalry from the Wuliang Hu Clan, with the remaining twenty thousand from Cui Liang’s West Road army.

After that battle, Prince Wu Tuo was defeated miserably, and Cui Liang protected Prince Wu Tuo as they fled back to the Wuliang Royal Court.

Initially, Cui Liang wasn’t valued much in the Wuliang Royal Court. As a defected general with only two thousand demoralized soldiers who had escaped from Chongshan Town, the Royal Court bestowed upon him the title of Jiala Ezheng.

However, after King Wuliang died of illness, Prince Wu Tuo seized the throne, favored Cui Liang, and appointed him as King Liang, assigning him over a dozen small clans.

Cui Liang might not have been a notable wise general in Da Rong, but in the Wuliang Royal Court, he did display some capabilities, especially in governance, where he was considered exceptionally outstanding.

Over five to six years, he managed his domain well, bringing significant development to the dozen small clans under him, and now his forces included over ten thousand Northern barbarian cavalry, although mainly consisting of ordinary Hu Clan youths, there were also three thousand armored cavalry.

At this moment, Cui Liang sat in his felt tent, his head shaven bald except for a three-finger-wide strip of hair at the sides and back, wearing a fur robe, perfectly resembling a Northern barbarian.

Sitting opposite Cui Liang was a tall, extraordinary man, whom Yang Zhenshan would definitely recognize as an old acquaintance if he saw him again.
