Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 658: Chapter 535 Subversion

Si Yulou also felt that something was not quite right, but he still said, ”Naturally, to convene the other pirates to prepare for battle against Da Rong’s Navy!”

”Prepare for battle! Ha, you mean you wish to welcome Da Rong’s Navy to take over Star Moon Island!” Yue Hongyi sneered.

”What does the Sect Leader mean?” Si Yulou quickly stood up.

Yue Hongyi pulled out two letters from his sleeve, ”In the past two days, I have received two letters, one was sent to my mansion, and the other was found unintentionally!”

”Take a look at this one!”

As he spoke, he flicked a letter to Si Yulou, who opened the letter with trepidation and began to read.

After he finished reading, he was completely flabbergasted.

”Impossible, this is fake, Sect Leader, I have absolutely not colluded with Da Rong in secret!”

One letter may not prove much, but the letter written by Yang Zhenshan was very insidious. The letter contained much content, not only thanking Si Yulou for the information he provided but also embellishing Si Yulou’s defection, as if the two had communicated many times before. It discussed the terms of a possible amnesty and had Si Yulou reveal a lot of information about the Star Moon Sect.

The source of this letter was also very crafty. Luo Jingsong purposefully found a corpse and had one of Yue Hongyi’s guards kill it. On the body, not only was there this letter but also a Token of the Secret Martial Guards.

And there was also the coincidence of the New Moon Army and Crescent Army’s destruction.

This coincidence, when linked with this letter, implies that Si Yulou was secretly passing messages to Da Rong, which led to Da Rong wiping out both the New Moon Army and Crescent Army.

The people inside the hall looked at Si Yulou and Yue Hongyi in confusion. Deng Yuehe hesitated for a moment before standing up and saying, ”Sect Leader, I also have a letter here!”

”Hm!” Yue Hongyi looked at her somewhat surprisingly.

Deng Yuehe said, ”I was planning to give it to the Sect Leader later, but now that the Sect Leader has also received letters, I might as well give the letter to the Sect Leader now!”

Then she handed a letter to Yue Hongyi. He opened it, glanced at it, and immediately sneered, ”How interesting!”

Deng Yuehe’s letter was no different from his own; the content was almost identical.

”What about you?”

His gaze fell on the others.

They looked at each other, not sure what to do.

Among them, some had received letters, while others had not, which was normal since Luo Jingsong’s method of sending letters was so casual that it wouldn’t be odd if they were lost.

”I have one too!”

”I have one as well!”

Qu Fusheng and Nan Haiyan spoke one after another.

Yue Hongyi, looking at these two letters, grew even colder and asked again, ”What about you?”

The others left were Sun Chunhe, Yan Wushang, Han Changshun, and Cheng Wuji.

Sun Chunhe and Yan Wushang did not receive any letters. Han Changshun and Cheng Wuji did receive them but did not bring them along because they indeed harbored a trace of such thoughts in their hearts.

The four shook their heads. Yue Hongyi did not probe further but turned his gaze back to Si Yulou.

Because the letter to Si Yulou was different from the others.

”Sect Leader, I truly haven’t!” Si Yulou felt unjustly accused, yet he didn’t know how to explain himself.

Nan Haiyan said sternly, ”Sect Leader, this could be a plot by Da Rong to create discord among us!”

”That’s right, that’s right, a scheme to sow discord!” Si Yulou quickly agreed.

Nan Haiyan glanced at him once, ”However, this matter is suspicious. I suggest it’s better to lock Yulou in the dungeon for the time being!”

”Nan Haiyan, you you~~” Si Yulou, beside himself with anger, glared resentfully at Nan Haiyan.

Yue Hongyi gazed at Si Yulou, nodding slightly, ”Don’t blame us for doubting you, the facts are before us. Endure it for now, you’ll stay in the dungeon for a while!”

He did not speak absolutely, for he too suspected it to be Da Rong’s scheme to create discord.

Si Yulou took a deep breath and said weakly, ”Your subordinate obeys!”

He felt a mix of disillusionment and frustration, that no one here spoke up for him, which left him both indignant and full of hatred.

An unsatisfactory meeting concluded, and Deng Yuehe, laden with heavy thoughts, walked out of the main hall.

She was the first to proactively submit her letter not because of her great loyalty to the Star Moon Sect, but because she knew that as an outsider in the sect, she would be the first to be suspected should any issues arise.

If she had been in Si Yulou’s shoes today, the outcome would not have been just imprisonment but also being shackled before being locked away.

”My lady, what’s wrong?”

Seeing her troubled expression, a maidservant following her asked softly.

Deng Yuehe shook her head slightly and said, ”It’s nothing, let’s go back!”

Afterward, she returned to her mansion. As soon as she arrived, her son Lv Xinghe came to greet her.

”Mom!”

Lv Xinghe was in his thirties this year. He was the son of Lanting Island’s Island Master and had been brought to Star Moon Island by Deng Yuehe after Lanting Island fell thirty years ago. He had lived on Star Moon Island ever since.

Although Deng Yuehe was the Hall Master of the ceremonial hall in the Star Moon Sect, Lv Xinghe had no position and was merely seen as a nobody.

He had always resented this; neither his cultivation nor his abilities were inferior to those of other clan youths. Yet, where all the others had positions within the Star Moon Sect, he could only be an idler. How could he accept this?

Furthermore, he had not forgotten his father’s enemy and desired to avenge his father.

However, he understood Deng Yuehe’s situation in the Star Moon Sect, so he did not blame his mother.

”Mm!” Deng Yuehe looked at him, sensing that something was off about him today, and asked, ”What happened?”
