Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 666: Chapter 538 Good Wind Good Rain_2

For example, the musician Qu Le, who is over 110 years old this year, has once dealt with An Yuxing. As for whether the two have any friendly relations, hehe, if there were any, An Yuxing wouldn’t have come to support Yang Zhenshan.

“Let’s go! I haven’t been in action for decades, it’s time to move!” Qu Le stood up and said.

Both of them stood up, tremblingly, and followed Yue Hongyi down the mountain.

On the other side, after returning from the main hall to her home, Deng Yuehe went to the ancestral shrine.

Luo Jingsong had been staying in this ancestral shrine all this time, and it could be considered quite stable.

“The battle is going to start, what do you need me to do?” asked Deng Yuehe.

Luo Jingsong slightly shook his head, “I don’t know.”

“Don’t know?” Deng Yuehe was somewhat dissatisfied.

Luo Jingsong spread his hands, “I really don’t know, the Marquis didn’t give me any orders!”

Yang Zhenshan really hadn’t arranged any tasks for him and Deng Yuehe because Yang Zhenshan also didn’t know what tasks to assign to them.

The naval battle had too many unpredictable elements, Yang Zhenshan planned to have the decisive battle near Full Moon Island, but whether Star Moon Sect would act according to his plan was still uncertain, if Star Moon Sect decided to have the battle on Star Moon Island, then Yang Zhenshan could only head to Star Moon Island.

The time, location, and specific process of the battle couldn’t be accurately predicted, how could Yang Zhenshan arrange tasks for Deng Yuehe in advance.

“What should I do then?” Deng Yuehe said with a furrowed brow.

She did not feel that Yang Zhenshan was unreliable, instead, she felt that Yang Zhenshan did not value her.

Not even giving her specific tasks indicated that Yang Zhenshan didn’t expect her to be of much help.

“Perhaps you should ask what can you do?” Luo Jingsong said.

Deng Yuehe glared at him, “I know what I need to do now, what are you going to do next?”

“I naturally will follow you!” Luo Jingsong chuckled.

Deng Yuehe felt that Luo Jingsong was somewhat shameless and also somewhat oblivious.

But she now had no mood to argue with Luo Jingsong, instead, she turned to prepare for what she intended to do next.

What could she do?

Honestly, not much.

Although she was the Hall Master of the ceremonial hall of Star Moon Sect, she actually did not have much real power in Star Moon Sect, and the people she could command were only a little over a hundred trusted followers.

However, now she had a chance to make a significant contribution for Yang Zhenshan; with a formidable enemy at hand, the resistance to her within Star Moon Sect was much less.

Therefore, she now had considerable operational space within Star Moon Sect.

…

The fifth year of Yanping, December 15th.

Yang Zhenshan led the Four Seas Navy and arrived a hundred li west of Full Moon Island.

On the flagship, Yang Zhenshan stood on the top of the ship tower, looking at the somewhat gloomy sky, his lips slightly curled.

“Good wind, good rain!” he murmured softly.

Beside him, An Yuxing was drinking with Daoist Xuanzhen and Liang Shengze, not far away, Lu Jin sat on the ship’s side with a smoking pipe, puffing clouds of smoke.

As for Zhou Qing and Marquis Hai Ning Li Chao, they were following Yu Tonghai and Bai Yuanxi to split forces.

“What good wind, good rain?” Liang Shengze asked.

Liang Shengze is Liang Chu’s grandfather, lineage-wise, Yang Zhenshan was three generations junior to him.

Liang Jinyan and Yang Yunyan are husband and wife, from this lineal perspective, Yang Zhenshan is even one generation junior to Liang Chu.

But lineage cannot be discussed this way, Yang Zhenshan and Liang Chu have always been peers, just calling Liang Shengze ‘Senior’ is enough.

“Junior is referring to the impending wind and rain!” Yang Zhenshan said.

“Is it beneficial for the battle?” Liang Shengze looked up at the sky, curiously asking.

“Of course, it’s advantageous.” Yang Zhenshan smiled.

He specially chose this timing, naturally it was the most advantageous choice.

Liang Shengze didn’t care about the weather, he was just curiously asking.

Compared to the weather, he was more concerned about the upcoming opponent.

“Leave one of those old fellows from Star Moon Sect for me!” Liang Shengze turned his head and said to Daoist Xuanzhen and An Yuxing.

An Yuxing swallowed a sip of liquor, “I can’t beat that old fellow Yue Minghua, it has to be Daoist Xuanzhen who deals with him!”

Daoist Xuanzhen flicked the horsetail whisk in his hand, “Is he very strong?”

“I don’t know, I asked Senior Zhang before coming, Yue Minghua is 132 years old this year!” An Yuxing said.

Xuanzhen Taoist said, “It seems that I too should be careful in dealing with him!”

“As for Quyue~” An Yuxing looked at Liang Shengze, “If Old Marquis is interested, then I would trouble Old Marquis to take action!”

Liang Shengze chuckled, “I have heard of Quyue as well, but I have never met him before!”

An Yuxing downed another gulp of wine, “This old fellow is not weak. About forty years ago, I fought with him, and at that time his cultivation was above mine!”

For Innate Martial Artists, the older they are, the deeper their Innate True Qi becomes, though this is not absolute, and strength cannot be fully measured by age. Innate True Qi is not the sole standard of strength for Innate Martial Artists.

It can only be said that the older the Innate Martial Artist, the stronger they might be.

But how strong specifically can only be known after fighting.

Anyway, forty years ago, An Yuxing was no match for Quyue. As for now, An Yuxing did not want to boast and rather let Liang Shengze handle it.

While the three were assigning their opponents, suddenly a soldier came running to report: “Reporting to Marquis, enemy forces spotted ahead!”

Upon hearing this, Yang Zhenshan immediately took out his telescope and looked towards the east, indeed seeing many ships appearing on the sea.

“Send orders, dispatch scout ships to investigate the enemy situation!”

The number of warships on the sea was not many, and it was unclear how many enemy ships there were.

About a quarter of an hour later, soldiers again rushed to report: “Report, the enemy forces ahead have more than eight hundred various warships!”

“Report, enemy forces spotted in the south, approximately a thousand ships!”

“Report, enemy forces spotted in the north, about two thousand ships more or less!”

Report after report rang out, Yang Zhenshan’s brow raised, “They are planning to completely surround us!”

Previously, he also intended to surround the enemy, but now the enemy seemed to want to surround him too.

“Marquis!” Xue Chang’an looked at Yang Zhenshan.

At this moment, he was somewhat nervous; though he had been a Military Officer for nearly twenty years, this was his first time on the battlefield.

Yang Zhenshan said calmly, “No rush!”

Afterward, he began observing the surroundings, but he could not see the enemies on the south and north sides, only those ahead!

Because the flagship’s flanking ships were too numerous and widely spread.

“Send orders, all ships to navigate northeastward, do not engage with the enemy!”

The storm was not here yet, it was not yet time for a major battle.

Since the enemy had already arrived, this place would be the battleground.

The location was determined, now what needed to be determined was the timing.

As Yang Zhenshan issued commands, the signalman on the watchtower above immediately began waving the flags to pass on the orders.

The flagship’s orders would be relayed layer by layer through signalmen on surrounding warships, until the outermost signalmen received the orders.

The order being passed down, the massive fleet began sailing towards the northeast.

The fleet was too large, making command extremely intricate. Fortunately, they had trained numerous times before and such simple orders could still be executed as commanded.

As Yang Zhenshan began to turn the fleet, the enemy ships to the east and north also started to adjust their direction. However, compared to the Four Seas Navy, their movements were much more chaotic.

This was because their warships were too numerous, primarily consisting of smaller boats, making order transmissions more troublesome. Additionally, they were composed of various pirate groups, each with their own leaders. The pirates would follow the commands of the Star Moon Sect, but the warships would only listen to the orders from their own leaders.

Consequently, a bizarre scene emerged: some of the northern warships had started to change direction, while others continued to sail south as previously commanded, unknowingly splitting into two fleets.

“Send orders, tighten the formation!” Yang Zhenshan commanded again.

Tightening the formation to prevent peripheral warships from being caught by the enemy; if caught now, they could only be swallowed by the enemy.

At this point, the Four Seas Navy was almost sailing against the wind. If the Star Moon Sect could command more swiftly, they could completely block their path, unfortunately, the command system of the Star Moon Sect was terribly inefficient.

The Four Seas Navy’s tail just passed between the two divisions of the Star Moon Sect’s fleet, with the nearest ships from both sides being only about a hundred yards apart.

Then the Star Moon Sect’s warships followed behind the Four Seas Navy.

“Damn it, what are these idiots doing? They can’t even block the opponent?”

On board a Da Fu Ship in the rear, Yan Wushang watched this scene, unable to refrain from cursing in anger.

“These pirates simply cannot coordinate and command efficiently!” Deng Yuehe said quietly by the side.

Indeed, Deng Yuehe was assigned to Yan Wushang’s ship, and Yan Wushang was the overall commander of the pirate forces in this battle.

Yan Wushang’s expression darkened, “Send orders, chase after them, we absolutely cannot let them escape!”

Originally, he had managed to set a surrounding strategy, but never expected that the opponent would escape the encirclement so easily, giving him the urge to vomit blood.
