Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 668: Chapter 539: The bigger the storm, the more people die. _2

”We can’t drag this on any longer, please ask the Sect Leader to take action!” Deng Yuehe suggested by the side.

Yan Wushang clenched his teeth in thought and agreed with Deng Yuehe’s suggestion, ”Send a message to the Sect Leader, ask them to take immediate action!”

Now was not the time for delay. The Four Seas Navy had the upper hand, the pirates’ morale was low, and although the Two Flag Army had not yet entered the battle, given the situation, their morale was surely not high either.

Therefore, they urgently needed to boost morale and also to lay all their cards on the table, otherwise they might never get the chance to reveal their trump cards.

Deng Yuehe watched the messenger begin to send the message, a hint of coldness flashing in the depths of her eyes.

Not far behind her, Luo Jingsong leaned against the wall of the ship’s tower, grinning as he watched this scene unfold.

Ah, how familiar this scene is!

Is it time to stab them in the back now?

This knife needs to be precise, and one must be prepared for the enemy’s counterattack.

I have experience with this. Do you want me to give it a shot?

Thinking this, Luo Jingsong stood up and quietly approached Yan Wushang.

The ship was somewhat chaotic at the moment, and since Luo Jingsong had boarded the ship with Deng Yuehe, although everyone found him unfamiliar, no one suspected his identity.

Yan Wushang was still holding the telescope observing the battle ahead, completely unaware of the added presence behind him.

Deng Yuehe noticed Luo Jingsong and frowned slightly as she looked at him, her eyes inquiring.

Luo Jingsong’s hair was soaked and his face was covered in rainwater, and he gave Deng Yuehe a small smile.

The next moment, a short blade appeared in his hand and then instantly stabbed into Yan Wushang’s back.

”...”

Deng Yuehe looked somewhat speechlessly at Luo Jingsong.

Why is this guy taking my job?

Is he trying to steal credit from me?

A sharp pain spread from his back and then to his chest, Yan Wushang shuddered and abruptly turned to throw a punch.

Unfortunately, Luo Jingsong was prepared and retreated several steps away in advance.

”You!” Yan Wushang looked at him, a mixture of shock and rage.

Luo Jingsong laughed, ”Protector Yan, long time no see!”

”It’s you!” Yan Wushang recognized Luo Jingsong.

He should be the person most familiar with Luo Jingsong among the Star Moon Sect’s upper echelon, because all the orphans adopted by the Star Moon Sect were trained by him. Moreover, it was he who arranged for Luo Jingsong to be sent to the Yuheng Star Hall.

”How come you’re here?” Yan Wushang demanded.

Luo Jingsong took a step forward, another short blade appeared in his hand, and he stabbed it into Yan Wushang’s chest again, this time from the front.

Yan Wushang tried to dodge, but he found that he couldn’t.

Deng Yuehe looked at Luo Jingsong, her eyes also showing surprise.

Half-step Innate!

She had not expected that Luo Jingsong would actually possess the cultivation of a half-step Innate, as she had always thought he was merely at the Postnatal Ninth Layer.

”Deng Yuehe! You traitor!” Yan Wushang fell to the ground, weak, grinding his teeth and screaming.

The storm raged around, making his voice sound extraordinarily sorrowful.

The people on the ship also noticed the unusual activity here, looking at the scene in astonishment.

Deng Yuehe stepped forward, her long sword swiftly unsheathed from her waist and fell onto Yan Wushang’s neck.

His head rolled across the deck. Deng Yuehe stepped on the head and coldly shouted, ”Kill!”

Most of those on the ship were Yan Wushang’s subordinates, and she had only a little over a hundred loyal followers, but now that Yan Wushang was dead, the hundred or so were enough to clean up the mess. As for the other ships, there was no need for their greed.

The sound of the wind, the rain, the waves, and the rolling thunder.

The cries of battle and screams ensued.

In just a moment, the wide deck had turned into a hell on earth.

Luo Jingsong showed no mercy against his former sect mates, the dual short blades in his hands like the Grim Reaper’s scythe, leaving only souls in his wake.

Elsewhere, on the main battlefield, Yue Minghua, Qu Fusheng, Yue Hongyi, and three other Innate Martial Artists had already charged into the fray.

With the storm raging and waves surging high, the five of them didn’t ride the warships but instead trod upon the water.

Those with higher cultivation, like Yue Minghua and Qu Fusheng, seemed to leap forward as if they were stepping on the crests of waves.

Those with slightly weaker cultivation, like Yue Hongyi, followed the surges of the waves as they darted through the air.

The even weaker ones, like Nan Haiyan and Qu Fusheng, dashed across the sea surface, occasionally swamped by the waves, but in the blink of an eye, they would break through the waves, treating them as nothing.

As soon as the five rushed into the battlefield, they brought massive casualties to the Four Seas Navy; several small warships disintegrated in an instant, and hundreds of soldiers fell into the water, their life and death unknown.

”Innate Martial Artists are attacking!”

”Report, Innate Martial Artists spotted ahead, totaling five!”

At this moment, leading the charge was the Leizhou Guard, and the sentries on the flagship Da Fu Ship had already noticed the changes in the battle ahead, and immediately roared out.

Amidst the storm, the sentry’s voice was particularly piercing.

Standing atop the ship’s tower, Zhang Man couldn’t help shivering upon hearing the report, ”Sound the horn!”

”Quick, sound the horn!”

Zhang Man urgently called out.

The next moment, a signaling soldier on the deck picked up the trumpet and blew it with all his might.

The storm was so fierce that it was hard for anyone to stand still even on the deck, but a few trumpeteers managed to blow their trumpets simultaneously.

Wooo wooo wooo~~

The somber trumpet sound spread out over the wind and waves.

Hearing the sound of the trumpet, Zhang Man breathed a sigh of relief. He intended to take a look at the attacking Innate Martial Artists, but just as he lifted his telescope, he saw a figure board his command ship.

”Damn it!”

Enemy Innate Martial Artists boarding the ship was absolutely a disaster.

But Zhang Man understood there was no way out at this moment.

There were Innate Martial Artists on the ship and raging waves outside; one could either fight desperately against the Innate Martial Artists or jump from the ship and struggle with the surge. Either way, both paths were a thin line between life and death.

Gritting his teeth, Zhang Man grabbed his long saber and charged towards that figure.

”Brothers, hold him off!”

”Kill!”

The soldiers on the warship had no time to think much; seeing Zhang Man charging ahead, they swarmed after him.

Seeing this, Qu Fusheng revealed a cold smile on his pale face, swinging his long staff directly horizontally.

Before Zhang Man could even get close to Qu Fusheng, he felt a huge force at his chest, and the next moment, he was hurled into the air like a cannonball.

With a five-foot-long staff sweeping, dozens of soldiers flew out like scattered flowers, the lucky ones landing on the deck and the ship’s tower, and the unlucky ones falling directly into the water.

”Kill!”

The strength of Innate Martial Artists was not something ordinary soldiers could withstand, yet numerous soldiers continued to emerge from the ship’s tower, cabin, and around the ship’s rail.

They rushed towards Qu Fusheng like moths to a flame.

And like clearing away weeds, Qu Fusheng swung his long staff without any technique, yet it sent every soldier within ten feet around him flying.

”Hmph, a bunch of ignorant ants, daring to stand before me!”

In just a moment, out of the hundreds of soldiers, only a few remained standing on the deck. Zhang Man, leaning on his long saber, crawled out from the ship’s tower, blood seeping from his mouth and nose, his eyes bloodshot, his chest armor shattered. He glared at the figure of Qu Fusheng, like an evil spirit crawling out of hell.

Unfortunately, he was not an evil spirit and was powerless against Qu Fusheng.

When Qu Fusheng noticed him, he sneered, ”You mongrel, I’ll take your life!”

As these words fell, he kicked the long saber before him, sending it cutting through the fierce wind, aiming straight at Zhang Man with a piercing velocity.

Zhang Man’s face was pale, his eyes a bloody red, but he had no strength left even to dodge.

Just at this moment, a long spear suddenly rose before him, with a clang, deflecting the incoming saber.

Then, a tall figure appeared before Zhang Man’s eyes.

”Marquis!”

Seeing the sudden emergence of this figure, Zhang Man’s tense spirit finally relaxed, but he immediately slipped into unconsciousness.

Yang Zhenshan glanced at him, a flash of killing intent in his eyes.

Of course, his murderous aura wasn’t directed at Zhang Man, but rather at Qu Fusheng.

Indeed, he had been dissatisfied with Zhang Man before, a Commander of no significance, with low strength and weak abilities, without much ambition. If it weren’t for this time the court organizing the Four Seas Navy, this Zhang Man might have continued to slouch around at the Leizhou Guard.

But at this moment, he had a newfound respect for Zhang Man. To dare draw a sword against an Innate Martial Artist with only Postnatal Eighth Layer cultivation was undoubtedly an act of courage that saw death as a homecoming.
