Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 665: Chapter 538 A Favorable Wind and Rain

As the Four Seas Navy passed Dongyang Island, news of its deployment also reached Star Moon Island.

Yang Zhenshan had the Secret Martial Guards watching over Star Moon Sect, and Star Moon Sect had arranged for people to watch over the Zhao Wu Guard and the Four Seas Navy, their surveillance of the Zhao Wu Guard was even clearer due to the complexity of its personnel - arranging a few to spy on them was too easy.

While the Four Seas Navy was still preparing to deploy, the spies of Star Moon Sect were already hastening towards Star Moon Island by fast boat. Not long after the Navy passed Dongyang Island, the spies had nearly arrived at Star Moon Island.

Star Moon Sect received the messages from their spies, and Yue Hongyi immediately convened a meeting of the top leaders in the main hall.

Other than Si Yulou, who was still in the dungeons, all other high-ranking leaders were present.

Yue Hongyi spoke solemnly, ”You must already know, Da Rong’s Navy has set sail, heading straight for us. The upcoming battle is inevitable!”

”Does anyone have a strategy for repelling the enemy?”

Yan Wushang spoke up, ”Sect Leader, at this point, what else is there to say? Let’s fight! Although Da Rong is strong, we are not dough to be kneaded at will!”

Sun Chunhe also said, ”That’s right, only by fighting can we repel the enemy!”

Speaking of Sun Chunhe, there were still some grievances with Yang Zhenshan, no, actually with Luo Jingsong.

Sun Chunhe, the younger brother of Sun Chunsheng, saw his brother attempt to ambush Yang Zhenshan at Ru River docks, only to be backstabbed and killed by Luo Jingsong.

Later, Luo Jingsong joined Yang Zhenshan, and Sun Chunhe wanted to revenge his elder brother multiple times, but then Star Moon Sect also lost a Gu Yunjian to Yang Zhenshan, so they dared not casually send people to trouble Yang Zhenshan again.

Later, Sun Chunhe replaced Sun Chunsheng to become the go-to sword protector of Star Moon Sect, while Si Yulou replaced the Gu Yunjian to become the head of the Punishment Hall.

”What about you others? Do you think the same?” Yue Hongyi looked to the others.

Nan Haiyan nodded slightly, ”If a battle is unavoidable, let’s give it our all!”

”That’s right, I too want to see just how strong Da Rong’s powerful figures actually are!” Qu Fusheng commented.

Yue Hongyi nodded then continued, ”I will ask two seniors to take action. Be ready to fight at any moment!”

Though he was the Sect Leader of Star Moon Sect, the strongest martial artists in the sect were not him, but two seniors uninvolved in worldly affairs.

The so-called seniors were predecessors of Star Moon Sect, part of the foundation of the sect.

Speaking of which, the strength of Star Moon Sect was very formidable; on merely a population of over a hundred thousand, they supported five Innate Martial Artists, whereas Da Rong, with millions of people, had just over forty Innate Martial Artists.

However, the number of Innate Martial Artists doesn’t work like that; though Da Rong has many more ordinary people, the proportion of Martial Artists is much lower than in Star Moon Sect. Star Moon Sect’s territory might be smaller, but their reach almost spans one-fifth of the East South Sea Domain.

More importantly, Star Moon Sect backed by Da Rong, involved in sea trade, acquired resources no other Sect within Da Rong could compare with.

At this moment, Cheng Wuji suddenly spoke up, ”Sect Leader, how should we deploy the pirates?”

At this time, they had almost thirty thousand pirates, considered an outer force of Star Moon Sect, but nobody expected these pirates to die for Star Moon Sect.

These pirates were hardly an organized force; at the slightest defeat, they might collapse.

”A generous reward brings forth brave warriors! Later, you can go to the treasury to withdraw three million reward silver for this battle!” Yue Hongyi said indifferently.

Right now, they urgently needed the pirates to serve as cannon fodder. As for the silver, now was not the time to be stingy. If Yue Hongyi didn’t have this awareness, he wouldn’t be fit to be the Sect Leader of Star Moon Sect.

Yue Hongyi then looked at Yan Wushang and said, ”During the battle, try to have the pirates at the forefront!”

He was also thinking of preserving Star Moon Sect’s strength.

After all, Star Moon Sect had already lost two flag armies; if the casualties were too high in this battle, the Four Flag Army would be left in name only.

Yan Wushang grinned, revealing a cruel smile, ”Sect Leader, rest assured, they definitely won’t dare to disobey your orders!”

Despite facing a formidable enemy, although everyone at Star Moon Sect knew Da Rong was powerful, they did not believe they were bound to lose this battle; in fact, they even felt there was a great chance of victory.

Their confidence stemmed from the two seniors and those thirty thousand pirates.

Although the pirates were a ragtag bunch, their advantage lay in their sheer numbers, coupled with the remaining two flag armies and the array of disciples from Star Moon Sect, their military force was actually not much less than that of the Four Seas Navy.

After the meeting, everyone dispersed.

Yue Hongyi went alone into the forests on the eastern part of Star Moon Island.

Above the forest, there was a villa, where two elderly men with an air of immortals resided.

These two were the respected seniors of Star Moon Sect, Yue Minghua and Qu Le.

Yue Hongyi respectfully stood in front of them and briefly explained the situation.

Yue Minghua, with deep-set eyes and a face like burlap, looking exceedingly old, said, ”I never thought there’d come a day when this old man would have to confront a fellow pathwalker from Da Rong!”

Qu Le, with a shiny, bald head, slightly overweight, appeared somewhat younger than Yue Minghua, not as decrepit as a dry corpse.

”Hopefully we won’t encounter old friends.”

”Old friends, haha, old rivals!” Yue Minghua said with a hoarse laugh.

Being over a hundred years old, even though they have secluded themselves from the world, over the century they have made many friends and rivals, many of whom, like them, are now old antiques.
